What people say

Not a scam, just scammy operators

This is the website of a group of hotels/serviced appartments with their loyalty scheme. It's adequate for booking rooms. My complaint is that they advertise certain benefits you get as a member... and then they just say "oh you can only get this once" when there is NOTHING on there about it just being once. In my case this was a status match. So - avoid. There are better places to stay.

0/5 Stars – WARNING: Absolute fraud. £900+ two-night stay…

Citadines Liverpool City Centre Do not book here under any circumstances. This hotel is actively engaging in double-billing scams and keeping guests' money. I prepaid for my entire two-night stay well in advance through Expedia at a greedy surge price. However, when I arrived at the check-in desk, the hotel staff demanded payment for a second time, falsely claiming they had not been paid by the booking platform. To avoid being left stranded, I was forced to pay again. Since then, Citadines City Centre Liverpool flatly refused to refund the unauthorised second charge. They didn't just overcharge me, they took over £900 for a two-night stay in a completely average room, and were actively gatekeeping the stolen funds. When confronted, they hid behind an impenetrable wall of corporate bureaucracy, pretending this was a "penalty waiver request" or a booking issue, rather than what it actually is: theft. They will gladly take your money twice, lock it away, and leave you to fight a losing battle with their useless customer service loop. Staying here means risking your financial security. A completely mediocre hotel is not worth being defrauded out of £900. Expedia had to refund me in the end. Save yourself the financial nightmare and book literally anywhere else.

The rewards program is a fraud scam.

The rewards program is a fraud scam. They promise rewards points to get you to sign up, but you do not receive any rewards points after booking and paying. They do not respond to email inquiries about why they do not award any rewards points even after booking and paying.

A very decent place to stay

Stayed at one of their POP! Hotels. Some of the pros include a very friendly & helpful female receptionist, trustworthy staff, very beautiful view, clean room, warm shower, good price, quiet area, strategic location, & comfy bed. Some of the cons include very bad WiFi usually between 22:00 and 07:00, no door sign (“please do not disturb” or “please clean the room”), no hairdryer, no mini fridge, & several spam messages after the stay begging me to join their membership.
