I'm sorry this experience has left you feeling misled. That is never the outcome we want, and I understand how frustrating it is to face a repair bill you expected to be covered. I also want to clarify autopom!’s role. autopom! is the seller and independent broker of the vehicle service contract. We are not the claims administrator, and we do not approve or deny claims. Claim decisions are made by the administrator according to the inspection findings and the terms of the agreement. In this case, the administrator advised us that the repair shop’s inspection documented evidence of a coolant leak into the engine over an extended period, which led to overheating and the resulting engine damage. Based on those findings, the administrator determined that the condition, within reasonable mechanical probability, began before coverage started. The agreement covers eligible breakdowns that occur during the coverage period and after the waiting period has been completed. The administrator cited the contract’s exclusion for damage caused by continued operation after an apparent problem exists, such as overheating, leaking fluids, warning lights, or similar symptoms, along with the pre-existing condition language in the agreement. I know that explanation does not make the repair bill any easier. But I do want to be clear that this decision was based on the inspection findings and the contract terms provided at signing, not on rules added afterward.
