Great team to help in your time of need

The team with Fields Data Recovery was very helpful from the first phone call to the last check up call. They walked me through the process, kept me up to date on their progress, and were able to recover a large portion of my data. I wish we could have recovered more data, but they did the best they could with a hard drive that had overheated and caused substantial damage. I strongly encourage you to back up your data frequently so you don't need this type of service, but if you do, I highly recommend Fields Data Recovery!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. We paid over $2,000 for a service completed back in March, and nearly five to six months later, we are still trying to get the issue resolved. From the beginning, we were unable to open or access the files that were provided to us. I initially worked with a representative named Ben and later with a supervisor named Michael. I have made numerous attempts to resolve the problem and have repeatedly been told that someone would call me back or that the issue was being worked on. Unfortunately, those conversations have not resulted in an actual solution. We also never received the hard drive associated with the service, which adds another layer of concern. What is most troubling is that the files involved contained highly sensitive data. We trusted this company to properly handle and deliver that information, paid for the service in full and on time, and expected a professional level of communication and accountability in return. I understand that problems can happen with any business. My frustration is not simply that something went wrong—it is how the situation has been handled afterward. After months of calls, follow-ups, and promises of callbacks, we still do not have usable access to our data, the expected hard drive, or a clear resolution. For a service costing more than $2,000, I expected significantly better communication, accountability, and follow-through. I am still willing to work with the company to resolve this matter and would gladly update my review if they take ownership of the situation and provide an appropriate resolution. Until then, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I had sent my SSD to the company. It took some time, but through follow ups, they did their best to help.

Great service expensive though

definitely bad experience. I got informed that this company is very professional and long experienced. And because my drive has all my photos for about 10 years, I chose to pay $1700, when a very nice person said the success rate is over 90%. Now after two weeks, i got informed again, but bad news, the drive was too damaged to fix. Didn't you know that before I paid? I'm not expecting to get the money back, but please, I would to get the drive fixed if possible.

The service was great. I was able to get my data recovered in a timely manner. It was a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for and I was very excited to have my data resored!

The price was high at $2600

The price was high at $2600, but it was a HD I needed data from. I wasn't made aware of the cost until the work was finished. Customer service was good, my main complaint was cost. I initially asked what the cost would be, I was told prices started at $200, then to pay $2600! It was a bit of a shock to the system.

Despite the price

Despite the price, I am so thankful for the work done to recover and clone my hard drive. I have a small business and rely completely on my computer for its OS and the DAW software. Without Fields Recovery, I would have had to start over with a new computer and no longer would have had access to my existing files that I have on my external drive. So grateful to those who worked to get me back up and running with my original OS and DAW software.

As soon as my card was delivered it seemed like the files were ready to be sent my way. I did have concerns after reading things on the internet but Justin V went out of his way to explain the process. Paid and received my data within two hours.

Declined services. They haven't returned my drive.

I responded to an ad that showed a high rate of data recovery starting at a low price of $199. While I was somewhat leery of sending off my 1 tb drive with no good concept of what the final cost might be I was assured by the Fields rep that I was under no obligation and that the drive would be returned

Very responsive

I really appreciate Fields Data Recovery's responsiveness and will recommend them to my friends and co-workers. They were able to retrieve the lion's share of my data and saved me a ton of time --well worth the cost. They communicated frequently during the process which let me know they valued me as a customer and understood the importance of the task at hand.

Great salesman. Zero files recovered. Out $1300+!

See other reviews. They claim on the phone, they are almost 100% certain they can recover your data from your drive. They tout their expertise in handling NAND chip failures. All verbal, so there's no physical proof if you try to make a claim afterwards. I sent in a USB drive - they told me they could do it, it would take 2-3 weeks. Over 2 months later, after "advanced engineering attempts," I was out over $1300 and nothing to show for it. I pressed for a report or something, and they sent a vague work order report. So again, virtually nothing. Do not believe their confidence. They are simply used car salesman playing a different game. Oh, and notice how after a few really bad reviews post, there's several glowing, awesome reviews. Since TrustPilot doesn't verify it, take it as a grain of salt. Beware!!

There is a pattern if you read the reviews. They claim, on phone, they are almost 100% certain they can recover your data from the hard drive. They tell you this on the phone so there's no physical proof if you try to make a claim afterwards. I sent in a hard drive like many others - they told me they could do it, it would take 2-3 weeks. In the end, I had to keep chasing them, sometimes getting no response. Took over 2 months for them to finally tell me they were not going to be able to retrieve data and that no refund would be given. I was left with a $2k+ bill for nothing. My opinion is this service is mostly a scam and I would advise anyone else to not go with this company.

I sent in my hard drive for diagnosis and asked for it back, now that I can pay for recovery from a different company I find out that fields made my drive worse.

I sent in my hard drive for diagnosis, when I was given the price quote I asked to get my drive back as it'd be awhile before I could afford it. Now that I can finally afford it I brought it to a different company and come to find out that fields mangled my drive, what was a near garentee of full recovery was turned into a miracle that the drive still even responds and I'll be lucky to get 30% of my data off of it. Unless you are able to pay these people right away to recover your drive dont send it to them, your drive will be way worse off then it was before by time you get it back.

Don't look at there ads they list price in the hundards you will end up paying thousands and you will not get back your old drive. After paying you then get there is no guarantee that any data will be retrieved

Rescued Data

The small company I represent was a little shocked at the initial quote... as was I The price was cut in half during a conversation with the rep - and that was both surprising and acceptable. The recovery was nearly complete, with one main folder un-recovered. Aside from that 1 main folder it looks like everything is there! Justin was helpful and professional in our dealings. Thank you!

SCAM SCAM SCAM. MASSIVELY OVERPRICED. PRESSURE FOR PAYMENT. MORE THAN DOUBLE THE PRICE QUOTED. ALSO SENT BACK TO A WRONG ADDRESS THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME....... HARD DRIVE STILL MISSING .....AVOID AT ALL COSTS . WOULD BE ZERO STARS BUT I HAVE TO PUT ONE ......AVOID.

They saved my life's work

Fields Data Recovery saved my life's work. This is no exaggeration. I cannot fully emphasize how grateful I am to the work that was done. In short, all of my photography from travels around the world, 7 years of work, was on an external hard drive. Back in 2021, it stopped working. I had first contacted a different recovery service, but the price was so high, I couldn't afford it. By now, June of 2026, I was afraid it had been too long since the initial issue and my work was totally lost. Then I contacted Fields Data Recovery. They sent me a free shipping label to get the hard drive to them and promised only to charge me if they could actually do anything with it. They dug in, found my hard drive badly degraded in various ways, and proceeded to essentially dissect my hard drive and rebuild it. They gave me multiple chances to be informed of what was going to be done, and to choose whether I wanted to keep going or not. At no point did I feel pressured. They did not talk to me like a mechanic might, throwing confusing terms at me and overwhelming me. It was all clear, concise, and sensible. This review is longer than I meant it to be, but I wanted to fully explain how amazing this place is, and what a terrific job they did. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fields Data Recovery to everyone!!!
