The company is responsive and selects good guides and drivers. I am not sure if it was based on availability, our requests or Firebird selections, but the whole package was not as impressive as the wonderful prior tours Firebird has assembled for us.
Another fantastic educational experience for our grandchild and for us, too! We loved how the hotels, tour guides, and sites were so well curated. A bespoke trip, a trip of a lifetime, one that we all will never forget!
All of the hotels were lovely. Unfortunately, the extreme heat caused us to cut our time short in Saarbrucken. Dino was an excellent tour guide; I'd highly recommend him. He was the highlight of the trip. The local tour guide in Saarbrucken (I can't recall his name) was very good too. Very helpful and informative. Marian (Munich) was also very good (well informed, bit of a character.) The tour in Munich with Christian was disappointing. He was very nice, but we really didn't visit any interiors. The tour was really too long for how little we saw. The time could have been better spent on our own.
The small tours were great. Did not feel like cattle getting loaded and unloaded throughout the tour. The customer service replied promptly to questions or concerns. The hotels were amazing, especially the Kolbe Hotel in Rome. Our tour guides did a great job, and were very knowledgeable of their subject matter. Tours provided a great overview of both Rome, Pompei and Amalfi Coast.
We found FB travel provided poor quality hotels, poor communication, poor or lack of detailed itinerary, overcharging train travel quotes, delays in providing train tickets (despite fully paying for our trip), providing us with train tickets in German (we do not speak German), poor seat allocation in train travel causing us to miss station (creating stress and worry), failure of pick up transport, being left stranded in the middle of a country with poor and confusing communication from FB. We had to be evacuated from our hotel room in Vienna due to sewage and methane gas poisoning. It seems Firebird has no quality checks in place for hotels or any of its services despite advertising they are a premium travel agency. They are anything but. Overcharged our trip to Central Europe for 6 nights Our experience with Firbird Travel has left us bewildered to say the least. We paid $8176 up front for 6 nights. We believe this is an excessive cost to what we received and experienced. Reviewing various websites, the total cost of our trip totalled $4585!!!
All of the excursions were great, excellent guides throughout who added detail and personal perspectives which was a plus. The transfers were seamless from city to city. The only negative was our stay at the Moxy in Belfast. High winds made all the windows whistle and leak air so it was tough to rest. One room had a bad mattress and some lighting problems we fixed. Otherwise, all the hotels were perfectly situated in the city centers which made walking about easy.
We booked a trip at the last minute. Sim was super helpful in getting a trip tailored to our needs and the guides were great and the transfers between the four cities were seamless.
Easy app to use even for older folks like me and the quick response to my questions.
Trip of a lifetime. Very relaxing trip with not a care in the world! The guides were exceptional in each place. Very nice transfer vehicles. Everyone just made this easy.
Firebird put together an excellent overall trip for us. Guides were excellent. Itineray worked for us with combination of urban (Verona) and mountain trip(Bolzano, Ortisei, Cortina). Great sales team and pre and post trip team. We did have one hiccup on transport but they made this right for us in the end so give them kudos for fixing an issue. I would recommend Firebird for a trip to the Dolomites and Italy and elsewhere.
This is the second trip Firebird has planned for our family and we have totally enjoyed both trips. Japan was such a great experience and we enjoyed our guides very much, Kumiko and Yui were exceptional! Also Dana and Daria did a great job organizing great experiences and coordinating every aspect of our trip. Thank you!
Excellent planning from Firebird Tours. The hotels were ok, but I did not expect 5* hotels for this trip. All our guides were excellent. We met some wonderful and memorable people!

This is a great company. Everything was well organized. Two important items would have been good to know to prepare for . OUI trains are identified by the assigned train number and not the city or town of destination. The hotel in Paris charged me over $300 in taxes for my stay? This was a very big surprise. I hope it was legal and if so knowing in advance would have helped. Firebirds was exceptional in support to me and my grandchild.
Great destinations, guides, and hotels. Firebird needs to work on some of their planning logistics.
My wife and I wanted to tour Switzerland but also do it by train. Firebird Tours fit the bill. Also to note, we originally planned to do this tour in 2025 but had to reschedule. That said, Firebird was able to use the majority of our 2025 payment for 2026. The trip overall was flawless. We worked mostly with Anna to lay the trip out, then Alexandra after that. We had no issues with train tickets, hotels, and only one minor issue with a transfer. The tours we took were of high quality with enthusiastic guides. What we really liked is that they were older guides (not twenty-something looking to make a buck) more interested in sharing their knowledge. The hotels were easy walking distance to hotels. When necessary, transfers were on time and professional. On a couple occasions we had to contact them via the app and they were almost immediate in responding and the issue was resolved (thank you Sia). If you want a Switzerland tour via train, we would highly recommend Firebird Tours.
Sim, the agent I have bee working with for my upcoming trip has been highly professional and has been incredibly responsive to any questions I have. We loved our time on the coast. Firebird again did a wonderful job with planning, recommendations, etc. The only tour we didn’t love was our Amalfi Coast tour. It was not a private or small group tour (our fault) and it felt like we were just on a ferry being dropped off at each location.
We knew what we wanted to do, but we didn’t know how to plan it. We told Firebird and they did the hard part for us. The planning, the tickets, the guides, literally everything. Made something that could be overwhelming, not at all. All we had to do was show up and they took us on our tours.
A lack of commitment to a single or near single advisor seriously impacted the overall success of my experience. I have used Firebird for previous trips but based upon this experience I will give serious thought about a repeat performance.
