I recently purchased and returned “Privacy Hero” router from Flashrouters that was advertised to be the best to work with NordVPN. After configuring and thoroughly testing my speed dropped from over 500 to less than 90 mbps. That was tested while connecting directly to my laptop using cat 5e. Cable Even with VPN and all other security services disabled I could not get close to 500 mbps while testing WiFi. The box looks and feels cheep. And to add insult to injury I had to pay shipping to return it. Total scam.
FlashRouters was incredibly responsive after I re-signed up for a Gold Support Plan. They arranged for an online TeamViewer session in less than 24 hours to ensure my 3 ASUS FlashRouters were online and operational with NORDVPN. I commend my FlashRouters Tech Support Agent who was both emotionally intelligent and supportive, successfully resolving and educating me on my issues. I would highly recommend FlashRouters for all you router and associated tech support needs!

Really appreciate you sharing your experience and it was a pleasure to help you out!
I got a travel VPN router from this company, and it has been a lifesaver during hotel stay. Easy setup, compact, super reliable. what else can one ask for? Good job!👍
Router dead on receipt and had to pay to ship it back
Purchased a flash router, it was dead upon arrival. Tried to contact support but its by email only. Waited over a day to get a response and finally somone issued an RMA for return, but I have to pay for return shipping? More money to spend on this router for nothing. And no one from support contacts you or cares. Stay away, Nov 22 finally received a note that the router has been shipped. Also had to pay duties a second time because they failed to say to was a replacement under warranty. Had to pay return shipping and duties 2 times

UPATED REVIEW ****
Flash Router has given me a refund even though the router was sent back and sat too long in USA customs and returned to me with no fault of mine. I tried again to set up the router and again it failed to work on my internet for long working for a bit then shutting down my network. I am pleased they sent me my refund anyway. Thank you. I really appreciate the company for doing that for me. I live Canada and I purchased a Privacy Hero 11 wireless router September 2025. This company is base out of Upper Saddle River NJ New York. I wanted this router so I could use my Nord VPN on my tv. It never worked on my home router and was continually shutting down my internet. I contacted the company and they sent me a RMI return label. After sending it back paying FedEx shipping fees and filling out the custom paperwork the shipping wasn't going through the customs in the US it was being held for over 3 weeks because they said there wasn't enough info on the customs form. I updated more information and still it would not move on from USA customs. Anyway I have received a refund and I can put this to rest. Thanks to Flash Routers again.
Wow,,,, on time! experts in the field! they know computers! super helpful to novices like me! Very straight forward about pricing and services offered,, no surprises or up-sell attempts ,, in one word "perfect"
Thank you!
Once I figured out the viewer everything was smooth. Bought this vpn router last year and have had no problems until vpn subscription was updated. I purchase support and they were excellent and helpful.
Alex H was a great help to my wife Ghizlane today in helping resolve an issue with our router not connecting to the vpn and got us setup on my TP-link BE800 router with nordvpn via Teamviewer.
Whilst we are a little disapointed that we cannot use the wireguard protocol on my router because of our choice of vpn provider (We went with Nordvpn as we were offered a discount on their yearly subscriptions from flashrouters when purchasing my router but apparently Nord don't allow manual configs using their nordlynx/wireguard and you need the nord app to use this protocol) that was due to our own lack of knowledge.
Alex was friendly and professional throughout and when asked questions responded immediately with expert knowledge.
Thought this would be a great router to have an all-in-one, but this company is terrible. Had an issue with the router as soon as I got it. I contacted the company and they had me ship it back to them for a warranty replacement but refused to replace my router with something of equal value. They wanted to replace it with something much cheaper, and they wanted to keep the difference, of which I also had to pay to ship it back to them. We went back forth for over a month for them to tell me, after they approved shipping me a new version, that they would not replace their router with the same kind that I asked for (original purchase but new modem), but instead they are issuing a refund. They refuse to help me troubleshoot the system because they said they had to do it with the router at their facility. BS! That was not what I asked for 45 days ago. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had in a while. Stay away from these people.
Complete waste of money. I purchased a FlashRouter and Silver Support plan. The router had internet connection but did not have a working VPN. I tried back and forth with the email support ticket team, and they ended up recommending I use their support page to essentially reinstall the VPN myself... The service I already PAID for. The technical acumen required was too much for me, so I opted for a remote session, which I also PAID for and scheduled four days in advance using their scheduling system. When it came time for the remote session, I prepared by following FlashRouter's FAQs page for using TeamViewer and did everything as instructed. I never received an email reply or a remote session connection. The money I paid for the products and the services of FlashRouters went completely to waste.
I bought a preconfigured router which worked OK. However, they signed my up for a "service plan" I didn't want. All in all, $240 down the drain for something I never wanted and never used. They refuse to refund the amount paypal didn't refund. Scammy and horrible service
I bought an expensive router from FlashRouters in the US, for use in Europe. I was really dependent on the remote Technical support from the Support team at FlashRouters which was absolutely excellent and reliable.
Follow-up support is also easy to engage, friendly and very thorough as I found this week when I wanted to add a new mini-hub to my network.
You can put your confidence in FlashRouters completely for the equipment they sell and most importantly the support you need to go with it.
I just wish all support services were as good as FlashRouters.
This is a Series of poor Customer/ Tech support issues with this company, spanning 3.5 years. Of 3 Failed FlashRouter routers, (FR) all have failed providing dropped VPN connections then total failure (no internet) tons of customer let downs frustrations broken promises, and a total failure to properly remit a Full refund of the third Asus AX6000 GT router which failed wile under the one year warranty it never made it to the Extended warranty I purchased thru FR.
have had 3 total failures of thier Products in a 3.5 years, I have zero confidence that FR product will provide me with any meaningful product reliability in the near or distant future.
I requested a simple and full refund of the purchase price of 339.99, of which FR response and only gave me 70.00 back in two payments of 30.00 and 40.00
They claimed they already refunded me approximately 297.99 back on 10-24 but that was for the other failed Asus router a TF-AX5400 I bought with my own money since FR was dragging their feet on the warranty replacement of another failed FR Router.
Call it incompetence or Deceptive practices. Don't know which.
Point is... FR refuses to refund me the full purchase price of the Asus AX6000 router and 2year service plan
Avoid this Sorry excuse for a VPN router company at all costs. Also Don't Believe any of the latests reviews that seem to be written by bots or a reputatational cleanup company to counter my factual and glaring issues with FR.
I have better things to do with my valuable time to keep posting these very truthful and factual reviews of my experiences with FR.
I just want all of my money back so I can move on with my life and forget I ever knew and bought from this company! What a Nightmare!
I have since bought my VPN Routers elsewhere and if I ever have any problems I am sure I will have better warranty service if I ever need it.
This company has horrible customer service. I was on an appointment call twice with issues, and the Tech dropped the call. I did not hear back from them. I have a VPN router I can use. I cannot stream with the VPN router they sold me, and I cannot get help or even help to return the equipment. This company is a scam.

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your experience. I have notified the support team of your feedback but hopefully it has been sorted already.
Picked up the Asus RT-BE88U FlashRouter and paired it with PIA. This beast covers my whole house with blazing speed, even in the attic. I finally got a VPN setup that works on everything—Smart TVs, gaming consoles, you name it. MLB blackouts are history. And bonus: I can shut down the kids’ YouTube rabbit holes at bedtime.
Retired in Portugal, but I still need my Max, Peacock, and Phillies games. The Asus RT-BE58U WiFi 7 FlashRouter with NordVPN handles it all. It’s plug-and-play, super fast, and FlashRouters even helped me set up dual VPN options. Bonus: I’m no longer feeding data to some shady ISP in Lisbon. Win-win.
