GREAT VALUE came through again with another wonderful travel experience. Everything worked exactly as promised. Hotels were excellent and in the best locations to get around the cities. The tours were very good. This company is true to its name.

We were concerned that Lufthansa strike in April 2026 would affect our upcoming trip and were surprised to learn that the travel insurance that we purchased with the trip was pretty useless more than 30 days before trip departure date and we would be out for the trip if our flight was cancelled.
The flight operated as scheduled and the trip itself was extraordinary and exceeded our expectations. The hotels were well located and very pleasant. The Holiday Inn in Frankfurt, however, was in a neighborhood that was too dangerous to go out around or to walk around due to extremely many drug addicts across from hotel and behind hotel and trash strewn in streets. Worse than anything I have ever seen in US. Would do the trip again and highly recommend just wouldn’t buy the insurance, read the fine print. The trip was phenomenal. We upgraded the car at Frankfurt airport to a hybrid!

My vacation was quite enjoyable, however it took 3 phone calls & over 2 months to get refunded for a resort I couldn't get to (through no fault of my own, or GV). I would hesitantly use GV again, but was a bit soured by the delay.

Astoundingly beautiful terrain, with ancient walled cities. Our weather was perfect. The azure blue seas are the result of granite and marble cliffs rising sharply out of the water; there simply is no mud. Beaches exist here and there. It is wonderful! Our hotels were well situated, quite nice, and of higher-end quality. That said, the food is ordinary. Most restaurants offer burgers & fries plus pizza. We did search and found better ones with a variety of menu offerings. They tend to offer steaks, chops, lamb, chicken and seafood, plainly cooked with juices rather than sauses, plus roasted vegitables.

This was our second trip with Great Value. We had a glitch with the rental car as the rental car company could not locate our reservation so we had to pay for it as Great Value was closed and we couldn't talk to anyone. I called them as soon as they were open and they promptly refunded my money within 2 days that I had to pay out of pocket. NO questions asked, so their service was amazing. FYI Driving in Italy is not for the weak at heart! Stop signs are merely suggestions. LOL
Hotel locations were very nice and we enjoyed ourselves. We had all the vouchers we needed and it went like clockwork. We will be using them again as we are already planning our 3rd trip.

Vale d'El Rei Hotel & Villas in…
Vale d'El Rei Hotel & Villas in beautiful Lagoa, Portugal was a first class week with the care of Caroline and Carla and other staff who couldn't have done more for us.
We had superb food and accomodation and the surroundings were so relaxing for us.
We will definitely return.

It was great not having to plan all the transfers/details and the opportunity to enjoy the trip. The excursions and the transfers were exceptionally well run. The communication was stellar. I do wish the location of the hotel in Rome was closer to city center, but we enjoyed the hotel.

The whole vacation transition was perfect. Everywhere the package said there would be a pickup, there was, and on time. The relief of no worries that you have transportation between sites is worth everything.

i liked that the planning was done, but i dont think i would have enjoyed the trip if we would not have upgraded, based on our accommodations. we ran into other couples that had been offered flights instead of 4 hour drives to our different destinations which i definitely would have used had i known. more options to choose from to tailor our trip would have been great.

Effortless trip planning!!
I don’t often write reviews, but feel compelled as this was truly the trip of a lifetime as made possible by Great Value Vacations! Everything from booking, to preparing, to the day to day details was so easy to navigate. The entire trip was FLAWLESS! We had zero hang-ups with accommodations, rentals, or airlines. I learned of GVV through a coworker who used them for their trip to Ireland, and I almost want to keep it a secret because this company is truly a hidden gem!!! Most of the hotels and the travel guides on the second part of the magic of Italy tour was horrible. He did not tell us the agenda and I had to take over and do his job because of his thick accent ; his inability to give an itinerary we could understand. Also the description of the trip did not tell travelers that they would be on bus rides for so long. Most days from six to eight hours. The meals that were complementary at the hotels on our last nights were terrible. I have asked for a refund on the second part of the trip when the second tour guide took over and made it a terrible experience.

MINIMAL Value, actually overpriced
We did a land and rail package. We were charged more for hotels and rail than we could have purchased on our own through numerous booking sites.
For what would be approximately $200 per night for a hotel according to them we could have booked the same hotels for about that price ourselves. Plus they would have been better and closer. When you factor in their hotels were 20 to 30 minutes from city center we had wasted time, no convenient pop ins to the hotel mid day, and extra taxi costs, and/or train hassles.
Plus when we wanted to adjust something customer service wanted to hit us with a $75 fee. Thankfully we called hotel directly to bypass that.
WHen I asked about the high cost they said they get contract rates. Absurd, contract rates should be lower not higher. NO NOT ASSUME. We assumed that at $200 per night their value contract price would have given us a great hotel in a great location. Not an OK hotel in a location that required communting to the main sites.
Really POOR VALUE.

I am so happy with Great Value Tours
I am so happy with Great Value Tours.
All planning, transfers, activities had been excellent so far except this year which the meeting point in Vienna was too early in the morning and too far from the hotel, so we missed it.
Meanwhile in Prague our name haven’t been registered with the first part of the tour at meeting point but the boat was planned correctly which was amazing.
Totally I am very pleased with this tour, it’s reliable with reasonable price, great services and good hotels in the best city spots.
