Vuescan is the Scanner Software I have been using now for more than 20 years. I tried others but came back to Vuescan. In my eyes the best Scanner Software.
Using VueScan to digitise both B&W 120…
Using VueScan to digitise both B&W 120 Film negatives from the 1930s to 1950s and 35mm Icolour positives from the late 1950s. This is a great piece of software that is very configurable and produces great results. The auto crop, IR filter and colour restoration is first class. Once configured jobs can be run over multiple slides unattended. Doumentation is clear and the support is first class.
VueScan is very easy to use
Rescued my old ScanSnap & Epson Scanners
I have an old ScanSnap scanner and an old Epson scanner. Neither has software that works anymore on a modern Mac, so basically useless. After a Gemini assisted search I discovered VueScan and it's absolutely fantastic. It can access both scanners easily, they work perfectly and the functions within VueScan are extremely flexible and cover my scanning needs. I tried to free download to make sure everything worked and then I purchased the app.
Super application…. but
Super application, works fine except in the case you scan lots of photos from the flatbed. The app switches suddenly to the doc feeder settings without any apparent reason. You then have to reset the app. Apart from this little annoyance, every thing works perfect.

Amazing product
Amazing product. Managed to get an old, normally unsupported old Canoscan slide/negative scanner to work again perfectly.

I have been using VueScan well over 10…
I have been using VueScan well over 10 years or more, been os long I forget. I needed a program that supported my computer when I switched to MAC. The Apple Store clerk suggested VueScan and I have been using ever since. It's been interesting watching it grow and technology and printers and scanner grow. My recently-purchased printer was about to be consigned to the trash heap. The scanner stopped working. A friend, who was already using VueScan, found my printer had just been added to the VueScan list. VS has always worked perfectly. The customer service is phenomenal. I don't have to keep a backup printer in my office. Dependable, economical, easy-to-use VueScan!

Excellent Device Support
VueScan works both with my HP1212MF printer/scanner and with my rather ancient Nikon CoolScan slide scanner. It will either scan to image (.tif, .jpg, etc.) or directly to a multi-page .pdf for articles and other written material.
VueScan is amazing to produce scans…
VueScan is amazing to produce scans from transparency, negative or prints with precision and control with what I thought was an ordinary flatbed scanner. The support is quick and knowledgeable. VueScan isn't the easiest software to learn but once time is spent to learn how to set up for optimum outputs, you will be amazed with what is possible.

VueScan has allowed me to use my Canon 8400F flatbed scanner for many years following Canon's dropping of support for it. VueScan is reliable, effective, and easy to use. Their support is excellent and they update ithe software frequently. I couldn't do without it.
