totally done with this service
Again ordered some meals and things are missing. It's sporadic, but annoying as heck. Reason I joined this program is because I can order food I usually can't cook because i don't have all the spices. So when you get a meal delivered "without" the spices.... what do you do with the rest of the items in your meal??? Guess I'll try another service. All i can say is delivery is consistent (expensive), but i have had several instances with missing menu cards on how to prepare the food, missing items several times, wrong meal delivered.

We have been with Home Chef since 2017
We have been with Home Chef since 2017. My husband and I are somewhat picky eaters, or we have been in the past. Thanks to Home Chef we have come to like spinach, kale, bok choy and a number of seasonings we never would have tried in the past. Their service nearly always arrives when expected, the food is fresh and the instructions are clear. I have been cooking for 58 years and know what I am doing around the kitchen but Home Chef has made meals so much easier (I really do not enjoy grocery store shopping any more, BLAH).
We have tried other company’s meal kits but always return to Home Chef.
I couldn't recommend them enough.

No Delivery
For two weeks (the only two weeks I've been subscribed) meals have been charged and not delivered. The first instance I was promised a refund and given a credit instead. This time I am asking for a refund. This company is suspect. How can I trust their food quality if they can't even get a delivery address correct?

Home Chef Issues
Horrible website, poor instructions, non-existent customer service, shipped on wrong day, charged me for second order before I even got my first order. Too bad, because the ingredients were fresh, the instructions were clear and easy to follow and the dishes were quite tasty.
I went on line to look at the selections. I entered my card information to check the available offerings. I checked my account I was charged and I received a box with items that I would never serve to my family. I called to complain and the company did not offer anything to compensate. I cancelled my subscription
I was not initially satisfied with the first order.
I was initially satisfied with the meals but found I was receiving assigned meals and not ones I chose. 4 out of 5 were chicken recipes. I have enjoyed some of the meals but almost every meal contains sour cream and I have become very tired if the basic taste of sour cream night after night. I’ve been ordering 4-5 dinners per week. We have lived several of their meals the trouts are usually good and like the salmon even more. I just can’t get past the overwhelming taste of sour cream night after night so for that reason I have to give them a 3. I also would like to mention my order this eeek was messed up. I received only 3 meals er could make. The 4th one arrived with a recipe but no ingredients. The 5 we received the recipe but no ingredient’s. Not sure what happened here.

Agree with others, very poor quality control
Agree with others. The recipes are good but the vegetables generally arrive in poor condition, often bruised, some already spoiled or very quickly spoil. For example even hearty vegetables like green beans, or brussels sprouts will look very dilapidated and old even after 2 days in the fridge. Softer more delicate vegetables will arrive in a sorry state. Not all things but honestly most things. My way to work this was to adjust my delivery date to close to the weekend so I could cook everything before it completely gave up. But even that is a problem because it forces me to have a "cooking day", instead of being able to stretch the cooking out through the week. I suspect that they save money by buying already old vegetables. Also, the meat packaging often fails so that all of the meats will sit in a pool of viscous fluid in the plastic bag they are placed in in the box so you have to wash them all to figure out which ones are leaking (usually chicken). By then the damage has been done. It is a real shame, because I have really enjoyed the recipes but I'm going to unsubscribe. BTW, I chose a random 'date of experience', I've been using them for about 4-6 months, it's an ongoing problem.

I was very disappointed with the…
I was very disappointed with the quality of the meals especially the proteins. The meats where low-quality. I had several issue with the getting the wrong dinners or mixed up protein. When I did get the correct meals I felt they where subpar. We canceled after several weeks
My experience date has been mixed at best. Sometimes the product is delivered, and it's fantastic. Other times, they misdeliver the product. Recently, I had at least three consecutive shipments that were not correct according to what I ordered. To be fair, they were quick to fix the issue or offer a credit, but their quality control seems to be lacking.
