What people say

Bad update ever

4k for External and "Custom domains require a paid plan" and bit unfair "Verified owners pay 2,400 credits / month " to give GamerSafer your face scan without info where data going etc Learn more here button takes to GamerSafer website page on minehut website and rewards face scan is wrong all levels like discounts or something like that also "bot or alt-abuser" easy to add system for it I would not recommend them to family/friend

We appreciate the feedback. The external server price reflects the infrastructure, logging, and moderation resources required to support them safely. Regarding GamerSafer verification: You're right that data privacy is important. Verification is optional - users can use externals without it (at the standard rate), but verified owners do get a discount as an incentive. If you have specific concerns about the GamerSafer verification process or data handling, we'd recommend reaching out to their support directly.

some of my servers were free

some of my servers were free, there was an option to buy more servers slots for 200ish credits each once you hit the cap. That's about 30 dollars being taken from me without warning or compensation I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED / WARNED by allowing something like this to pass, we are once again allowing big corporations to take things away from us after we've already bought them many other of my unfinished soon-to-be servers are also going to be annihilated off the face of the earth, and there is nothing I can do about it unless I were to literally pay Minehut more than 20x the amount I pay them The apocalypse has arrived..

We understand this change was significant for server owners who had unlimited free servers. When we removed the daily playtime limit for free servers (a major improvement for free users), we had to make adjustments to keep our service operational and sustainable. Providing 5 free servers with unlimited playtime is still a substantial offering, but we recognize this doesn't work for everyone's needs.

Review from a commercial server owner - Updated

I am upon the very small amount of people who both A) Are paying users who make commercial servers while simultaneously B) Making original, unique, never-seen-before servers. I've been doing this for a while now, nearly 4 years to be precise. However, not all of my servers are finished yet. Some of them have been scrapped/abandoned, and perhaps a few blanks servers, but the vast majority are servers which are finished or playable but have no consistent playercount, making it not worth it to buy a plan. The servers could be kept alive by me for $2 a month, each. However, since I have over 65 non-paid servers, this option is impossible. It is also unfair, as most of these servers are not SMPs with lots of region, and cost Minehut a few cents monthly at most. I pay Minehut good money, so I expect my servers that I already made to not get deleted randomly without fair and *mutually agreed* compensation. I can understand restricting new users' server limits to 5, but removing existing users' servers without a mutually agreed compensation is unfair and should not even be within the question. This update brings zero benefits to paid users. It is a greedy corporate move disguised as an improvement under the guise of "unlimited server time." Yes, you can have one server with unlimited daily time, but Minehut servers are already unplayable on 1GB memory, so this is a pointless endeavor. Yes, costs must be cut, but not ones of this caliber and harm. A few possibilities/solutions to improve the situation and make it more fair: A) Don't remove servers for existing users. B) Don't remove servers for existing users so long as they maintain an active subscription for credits. C) Make a new server plan that costs very little, and only exists to prevent deletion. By "very little" I mean only a few credits a month, like 5-10. This could be also be like an archival service, where you won't be able to start the server until a proper plan is bought. D) Don't delete free servers that were bought using credits. Originally you got 50 servers to create for free, but after that, you'd have to spend 200 credits to get another. Since those servers were NOT free, and costed money, they shouldn't be deleted. At least not without compensation, which has not been mentioned thus far. E) Lastly, you could just attenuate server storage for free servers to 5GB. So far this sounds a lot like a simple complaint, so let me tell you why the update hurts Minehut. 1. Commercial server owners rarely work on a single server. We have prototypes, archived projects, event servers, testing servers, and future releases. Reducing server limits punishes the users who have invested the most time into your platform. 2. The biggest issue isn't even the limit itself. It's the fact that the rules changed after people had already invested years into building servers. If users can't trust that the servers they create today will still exist under tomorrow's policies, they're less likely to invest time or money into Minehut in the future. 3. Unlimited server time isn't even remotely close to a fair trade. Unlimited runtime sounds appealing on paper, but it's replacing something many existing users already had little use for. Commercial servers require more than 1 GB of RAM to provide a playable experience, especially for any kind of SMP, so unlimited uptime on an underpowered server isn't equivalent to losing the ability to keep dozens of projects archived. The only type of server that could potentially run on a single gigabyte is a box server with only a handful of mines and less than 8 players. 4. Migration costs: rebuilding or migrating dozens of servers elsewhere isn't a trivial task. It involves moving files, databases, plugins, configurations, and domain setups. That forces developers into situations which impose significant time costs on your most dedicated users. This update was designed around attracting new users, which is understandable. However, it comes at a large cost for unique server creators like me who have already invested years and money into the platform. It appears you're making their experience worse in exchange for new users who aren't guaranteed to pay you even a cent. Long-term users are the ones creating the content that keeps Minehut active, and updates should strengthen that relationship, not weaken it, regardless of whether or not you want new users.

Reply from Minehut2026-08-03

We appreciate you sharing your perspective. Most server hosting platforms delete inactive servers after 30 days to manage storage and server resources. This is standard industry practice. We do offer affordable paid server plans for users who want to keep additional servers active. These options ensure the platform remains sustainable for all users. We understand this change may not work for your specific use case.

The downfall of Minehut

The downfall of Minehut Dear reader, Minehut once was the best place to host and grow your server. it had a thriving community, cheap plans, no time limites whatsoever. However this all fell recently. There's no more external plan, the plans they offer are very expensive with ancient server hardware, they don't listen to the community, updates are VERY slow and therefore the community is dying out! One last point that is mildly annoying is the pettyness of some of their volunteer moderators / admins. Often giving out punishments without proper reason (asking for one can get you muted for instigating drama). TLDR: I would recommend going to a different host like Minekeep, as they don't offer external, their current hardware pricing is very bad and they clearly don't care about their community. Yours faithfully, Someone who loved being part of the Minehut community as it was.

We appreciate the feedback. We do still offer external servers, and we're continually working on updates and improvements based on community input. We understand Minehut may not be the right fit for everyone anymore, and we respect your choice to explore other options.

insanely greedy company

insanely greedy company, huge lack of proper server and player moderation. ignorant and unhelpful server support. new updates are pushed only to take more money from players. ALSO dont trust your kids with playing on minehut, theres a lot of predators and PEDOS playing without being punished.

Reply from Minehut2026-08-03

We take safety concerns extremely seriously. If you have witnessed behavior that suggests predatory activity, please report it to our Trust & Safety team at [email protected]. We investigate all reports of harmful behavior and take swift action, including escalating to authorities when needed. We cannot discuss specific enforcement actions due to privacy, but we do have moderation processes in place to protect our community. If you have specific incidents you'd like to report, please reach out directly, and we'll investigate.

Externals are too expensive

Externals are too expensive bro make them cheaper please

Reply from Minehut2026-08-03

We increased the external server price to reflect the actual value of access to our player base and to support better security/safety monitoring. At the previous price point, external servers were being used to circumvent our community guidelines. By increasing the price and adding server logging, we can better protect our players while providing legitimate external server owners with a more secure, monitored environment. We do offer a discounted rate of 2,400 credits for verified accounts if you'd like to explore that option.

The new update SUCKS

The new update SUCKS. They limited everyone's server slots to 5 slots and there's a bunch of new updates on the new dashboard. I've played Minehut and owned a lot of servers and they literally forced me and many other serious server owners to delete our servers. Minehut has been greedy in the past, but this amount of greed is just undeniable.

Horrible service provider. bad server plans. bad customer service. Use dedicated hostings and plus the server is dying out

We're sorry to hear you are unhappy with our service. We would love to hear more about your customer service experience, so we can improve. Feel free to send us an email/ticket. We are currently in the process of updating our plans, including externals, based on community feedback.

Once good, now terrible

Toke away external server plans, so if you even wanted to host on minehut with decent specs you have to pay 50$+ an month, cheaper to go other providers.

Suspended my server without chance to fix what I did wrong, I pay to host my server its not right to suspend and lock me out of it without a second chance to correct it after spending weeks of work on it.

Reply from Minehut2026-03-30

We're sorry that you are unhappy with our service. We do not typically suspend servers without warning and you are welcome to appeal.

Full 💩 poo!

Full 💩 poo! Player numbers are decreasing everyday as they double down on their super strict guidelines. Also, note that most of the 5 star reviews here are from minehut mods themselves.

We're sorry that you are unhappy with our service. We have a chat filter that we have provided to all servers, which was a requested feature by a majority of our community. Our mission is to create safer gaming spaces for players, if that doesn't align with what you are looking for then we are not the host for you.

They banning for everything...

been banned on one of my account, tried appealing and never got response, couldnt get back on or appeal anymore and its been 2 years.... avoid this one

Reply from Minehut2026-01-30

Permanent bans are not something we take lightly on our platform and it is reserved for severe harms and rule violations. We only accept one appeal per punishment, so if you are not receiving a response you were most likely blocked in our ticket system for creating numerous appeals.

Good hosting platform: recommend

A pretty decent hosting platform. Since it has such a large userbase, you can make a server alive even if you start from scratch like i did. And the prices are fair in my opinion. The issue though is they sometimes have disconnection issues or some glitches here and there but they are usally fixed rather quickly.
