What people say

Ups and downs but unfortunately the downs outweigh the ups for me.

I really loved the glossy quality of the book covers and pages. The inside pages kept their details really nicely in comparison to other printers I have used in the past. However, one glaring issue I faced was that 21/30 of the books I ordered had covers that were not aligned properly. 9 of those copies were completely fine but 2/3 of the order was not. 21 of those copies I am a tad bit uncomfortable selling to customers at full price so I will more than likely have to discount them. I also like to compare speeds to KDP printing and shipping so I will order same amount of copies at the same time and I will say they have roughly the same time frame. KDP lacks in overall color quality but images are still crisp and in comparison Mixam had a bit of a blur. You could argue that these quality issues may be caused by formatting however I only keep a single pdf copy of each of my books for this exact reason, so that the formatting and files are as consistent as possible throughout all varying printers.

Hi Kyleigh, We're really sorry your order arrived with misaligned covers and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We recommend reporting any issues through your Mixam account, as outlined in the review invitation email, so our Care Team can review the order details fully. Order made is lost and time sensitive.

Below is my original. However, since this post, Mixam reached out to make it right. Granted it still 20 days past the initial delivery date. But I now have my books in hand, and the qualities is exactly what I would like it to be. In fact. There was a few extra books included, so being that one was damaged in shipping (which is not their fault) having a few extra really helped out. To be completely fair and unbiased, I am keeping my original review down below. But the customer service team reached out and finally made our order. So now my review is solely based on the quality of the product, which is the reason for my change from a 1 to a 4! Thank you again and I look forward to working with Mixam again. “Order made is time sensitive. It was lost by the carrier over a week ago. Filed a claim with the carrier and reached out to MIXAM for resolution. All I’ve heard back so far is “there is an investigation open by UPS.” This is the second time I’ve received a request to review. I wanted to give a fair shot to see if the package was found or MIXAM would you do the right thing and replace the order. But it has been over a week of business days and the time crunch is getting closer to when I need them by. I feel like there’s been no communication or sense of urgency on my order. This was my first time using their service, as of right now, I am not sure if it’s something we can go with for our printing needs or be able to recommend them to anybody.”

Hi Thomas, We’re really sorry that your order was lost in transit, especially as we understand it is time sensitive. I can see that you’re already in touch with one of our colleagues, and we’ve checked your order and can confirm that a reprint is already in production. We understand how important it is to have an update when you’re working to a deadline. The reprint was arranged over the weekend, when our team was out of office, so the update wasn’t picked up and communicated to you as quickly as we would have liked. A member of our Care Team will be in touch with you today with further information regarding the reprint and next steps. We’re very sorry for the frustration this has caused and appreciate your patience while we work to get your order to you as quickly as possible.

Frustraing online tool but excellent printed results

I tried a number of book publish websites - Mixam's was the best in terms of showing me what the book would ultimately look like. The tool was a little frustrating: 3 pages in my PDF had been rotated landscape and this totally flummoxed the tool until I changed the PDF to rotate them portrait like the other pages. You have to tell the tool at the very beginning the exact number of pages in your PDF - not sure why it can't just figure it out from the uploaded PDF, and/or let you add/remove pages as necessary. After a while I got all of the tool frustrations figured out and proceeded with printing. Not sure why the book had to sit 'in production' for almost 2 weeks before they finally printed it. With that said... once printed the book shipped right away and the quality of the book was outstanding. I'd definintely use Mixam again.

Great Customer Serive- Fast Delivery

I was genuinely impressed with this purchase It absolutely delivers on quality and is well worth the price. The customer service team was a pleasure to deal with; they were responsive, professional, and truly helpful. On top of that, the shipping was remarkably fast and the delivery was seamless. My order arrived ahead of schedule and in perfect condition. I highly recommend this product and this company to anyone looking for a reliable, high-value experience. Five stars all the way!

Good pricing, poor quality control

I sought printing for an 8.5” square cookbook, lots of photos and high design aesthetics. Mixam’s website displayed a lot of photo books with beautiful quality, and their pricing was quite competitive. I’ll try to make a very long story short. When Mixam got it right, the books were gorgeous, HOWEVER… • The proof copy printed through PrintLink had pages skewed by a noticeable 1/8” one corner to the other. • Despite prior contact with an agent via chat who made notes in my account, sending an email to CS ahead of my order, and including a note requesting careful attention to detail on the order itself, 28 of the 76 copies printed had groups of pages swapped so one section was duplicated and another was missing. • After I submitted photos (twice), Mixam agreed to reprint the 28 copies, but was reluctant to give any kind of refund for the shrink-wrap or for the additional cost of shipping replacements to customers or all the time I had to spend (not to mention the brand impact) investigating and managing the error. They finally agreed to print an additional 28 copies at no cost to compensate me for the extreme inconvenience. • Despite being aware that they had already messed up, the first 28 had 7 copies with paper misfeeds that created wrinkles across pages and ink offsets on the facing pages. After I submitted photos, Mixam agreed to reprint the 7 copies. • To my absolute dismay, the second 28 arrived with printing registration issues that created shadows around text and blurry photos. None of those copies were of the quality of the initial print run. After I submitted the video demonstration they requested, Mixam agreed to reprint the 28 copies. • The 7 copies arrived and were okay, though the color on the covers was inconsistent. • The final 28 arrived and were good. Finally. From the time I notified Mixam of the initial error, it took over a month, two phone conversations and numerous emails with the CS agent, and MANY hours of my time inspecting every copy page-by-page to finally resolve the screw-up. For me, I need a printer I can trust to deliver quality products reliably without me needing to serve as Quality Control for their work, so Mixam won’t be who I turn to when the current stock of books run out nor for future projects.

Hi Aaron, We’re very sorry for the issues you experienced with your order and the subsequent reprints. This level of repeated production trouble is certainly not typical, and while we never intend for things to go wrong, unfortunately there are occasions when they do. When that happens, our Care and production teams are here to investigate, put things right and make sure a suitable resolution is reached. We’re glad that the final replacements arrived correctly and that everything has now been resolved, although we’re sorry it took longer and involved more back and forth than it should have. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your feedback is genuinely appreciated and helps us identify where we need to do better.

Great Quality, if there's an issue, ask for Maggie

I ordered 50 stapled wall calendars for my wildlife photography business, and the order shipped with placeholder "Lorem ipsum" template text still in every footer , a design tool defect that made the calendars unsellable to my paying, pre-ordered customers. Combined with a shipping delay that blew my delivery deadline, this could have been a total loss. Initial support responses were frustrating and felt dismissive of a clear system level issue. But once the case reached Maggie on the Care & Resolution team, everything changed. She took real ownership, escalated internally, and worked with me to reach a fair resolution ... a 50% refund that let me keep and distribute the product to my customers rather than destroying inventory I couldn't replace in time. Mixam's print quality itself was excellent . The photos looked great. The process to get this specific defect resolved was rocky and frustrating, but when I finally reached Maggie, She turned it around and is the reason I'll order from Mixam again. If you run into an issue, ask for her by name. UPDATE TO MIXAM Thanks for the reply and for confirming Maggie's help. I do want to push back on one point: while the placeholder text was technically visible in the preview and proof, an automated check that flags unedited template placeholder text (like "Lorem ipsum") before an order goes to print seems like a reasonable safeguard for a design tool used by non-designers. Right now it sounds like that gap is being treated as a one-off customer error rather than a process issue. I'd genuinely like to see this prevented for future customers, not just resolved case-by-case after the fact. Appreciate the resolution either way.

Hi Ronald, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about our colleague. As the artwork was created using our online design tool, the templates include placeholder images and text that need to be edited or removed before submitting the order. In this case, the placeholder text remained within the submitted artwork and was visible in the order preview, artwork thumbnails and proof before printing. We’re sorry that you did not notice this when checking and confirming the order. While this wasn’t caused by an error during printing, we’re really pleased that Maggie was able to work with you and reach a resolution that allowed you to still use the calendars for your customers. Thank you again for your feedback and for allowing us to put things right. We’re delighted to hear you’d consider printing with us again.

Paper weight was a Problem

I spent a lot of time on their site trying to determine the correct paperweight for my prints and thought I was choosing correctly. When my prints arrived they were much thinner than expected with back-side bleed through. Reaching out to support after I received them, they told me that was expected at that paper weight, despite it seeming thicker based on their website. The sample pack did not say it included the various paperweights in it, so I did not order it before placing my order. Man, I really wish I had because now I have 700 prints I can't use. It did ship quickly and was packaged well. Arrived without damage. I should say my review is based on my experience with them as a customer and the use of using their services. I did the things advised on their website and still made the wrong choice.

Reply from Mixam Inc.2026-08-07

Hi MR, We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with the paper choice and that this resulted in prints you feel you can’t use. We do want to clarify that the paper information is available on our website before ordering. Our sample pack page explains that it contains a carefully curated collection of papers and finishes across a range of items, and our Paper Support page also explains that 70–80lb text stocks are lightweight options commonly used for products such as magazines. As the artwork, product and paper specifications are selected by the customer when placing an order, we printed your order using the paper stock you chose. If you were unsure which option would best suit your project, our team would also have been happy to help before the order was submitted. We can see that our team has offered a goodwill discount should you wish to reorder using a heavier paper stock, so we are disappointed to receive a two-star review when the order itself was produced according to the specifications selected and arrived quickly, well packaged and undamaged. We hope the discount offered allows you to choose a more suitable paper for your next print run.

Mehh

The cards were printed and shipped super fast, which was nice. But I had an issue with about half of my post cards and customer service was really trying to convince me it wasn't their fault. They spent time answering my questions (so, thank you) but didn't offer any solutions.

Hi Jesus, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear your cards were printed and delivered quickly, although we’re sorry that some of them were affected. We recommend reporting any issues through your Mixam account, as outlined in the review invitation email, so our Care Team can review the order details fully. However, we can see your previous email correspondence, and a member of the team will follow up with you to see whether we can provide further guidance on why some cards were affected while others were not.

My order was almost 3 weeks late

My order was almost 3 weeks late. When I got it, It was black and white when I paid for color. I ended up getting a full refund. The customer service was good, but the production and delivery was pretty terrible.

Reply from Mixam Inc.2026-08-06

Hi Mitch, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry your order certainly didn’t go to plan. While delivery dates are estimated, this took much longer than any of us would have liked. It also appears the press settings may not have been switched from grayscale back to colour between orders, and we sincerely apologise for this mistake. We can see that a full refund was arranged, and we hope this helped make things right. We’d be grateful for another opportunity to provide the quality and service you expected. We also hope you’re still able to make use of your book despite the grayscale printing.
