The Gardyn was so easy to set up. I did have a camera issue, but they were very helpful in troubleshooting and sending out a replacement part. I can't wait for my first harvest!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! 💚 We are so glad setup was a breeze and that our team could get your camera sorted with a quick replacement. That first harvest is such an exciting milestone and it will be here before you know it. Here is to many happy harvests ahead. Grow healthy, live tasty! 🌱✨
Have been planting and using the Gardyn for two years now, and love it more every day. The amount of produce that I can generate and know what goes into the production has been gratifying. My son enjoys seeing everything grow, and helps with the harvesting. It’s something that family can enjoy while eating consciously grown produce. I always get sad when I have to start a new sow, but, I also like mixing it up and having a different variety of fruits and vegetables. Forgot to mention, the sound of the trickling water is relaxing, I read by my Gardyn. Talk about endorphin production as well!

Thank you so much for this beautiful review! 💚 Two years in and loving it more every day, that is everything we hope for! We love that your Gardyn has become something the whole family enjoys, from watching everything grow to harvesting together with your son. Knowing exactly what goes into your food while making memories along the way is what it is all about.
And that little detail about reading by the sound of the trickling water is the loveliest thing we have heard all day. Here is to many more relaxing, endorphin-filled harvests ahead. Grow healthy, live tasty! 🌱✨
I'd give it zero stars but for some previous positive experiences. This program is not a good one for older people and I would advise anyone who feels they fit that category to avoid Garden. I was able to use and enjoy it for about a year. However, now when I try to manage my account I get instruction to click on a person icon. I have tried several times over a few e=weeks and have found no person icon. I am done. Penelope carter

My Gardyn has been a source of edible goodness, relaxation and joy. In the summer months it extends outside to my planters but in our long Minnesota winters, I can keep fresh veggies coming and feel good about investing in something which is safe and tasty to consume. Sometimes I even share!

Thank you so much for this beautiful review! 💚 Edible goodness, relaxation and joy, that is everything we hope a Gardyn brings into a home! We love that it keeps fresh veggies coming through those long Minnesota winters and even stretches out to your planters come summer. And sharing the harvest? That is the sweetest part of all. Here is to many more seasons of tasty, feel-good growing ahead. Grow healthy, live tasty! 🌱✨
I love growing my own plants however if you dont have the membership your "happiness level" will never be great....it makes you feel like you need the membership (that is WAAAAAY overpriced)....I would rather pay full price for the plants and be able to use the app to it's full extent.....Just feels like a big scam.
Reply from Gardyn2026-07-19
Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we are so glad you love growing your own plants! 💚 We really hear you on the membership, and your honesty about how the pricing and experience feel means a lot to us. Concerns like yours help us look closely at how we can do better.
We also want to gently share that your Gardyn works beautifully with or without a membership, the difference is simply how much it does for you. Without one, you can still order plant yCubes through the app and manage the regular care your Gardyn needs. Membership just adds the extras like Kelby's guided support, monthly plant credits, exclusive plants, and Vacation Mode.
We would truly love the chance to talk this through and make sure you are getting the most out of your Gardyn. Please reach out to us anytime at [email protected]. We are here for you! 🌱
I do not have a green thumb at all. But this is SO easy, it’s even exciting!

My Gardyn is awesome! It’s well made, fun to establish, and I love that I can garden/grow my own food year round. Customer service has been very helpful when I have asked questions. Overall, great experience so far.

I mistenly submerged my pump and easily through the app, Ter some conversation with Kelby, an email was automatically sent to customer service and they sent me an email back saying they were sending me a new one under warranty! It was outstanding service!

Very quick response and thoroughly explained the reason for my issue with my pump. Offered replacement to take care of the problem. The videos made it super easy to find and locate the problem with support via email or chat as needed. Great company and I love my Gardyn! Been with them for several years!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for being part of the Gardyn family for several years! 💚 We're so happy our Support team was able to quickly identify the issue and help get you back to growing. It's wonderful to hear the videos and guidance made the process easy. Your continued support means so much to us 😊 Happy Gardyning!
Pump failed after 1st year. I emailed customer service, they requested that I send some photos. I waited until I had help to lift the gardyn so I can take a picture from the bottom. Sent the photo. They sent me a replacement pump. I waited when someone can help me lift the gardyn and then install the pump per instructed. Still not working. No sound. Pump is still not running. I emailed the customer service, they asked me to take another photo. I waited until I had help to lift my gardyn. I took a video and sent it over. They replied “tell me what’s the problem.”
This is a waste of time and money. If I were someone who has time and knows how to garden, I would not have purchased this product. What a scam!

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we're sorry for the frustration you've encountered. We also apologize for the miscommunication during your support experience. We understand how disappointing it is to go through the effort of lifting your Gardyn multiple times, especially after installing a replacement pump, only to still be unable to get back to growing.
Our Support team will continue working with you until this issue is fully resolved. We want to make sure your Gardyn is up and running again, and we're committed to helping you get back to Gardyning as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience, and our Support team will be following up soon!
I only started my 1st Gardyn a few months ago and have harvested a small salad for 4 a few days ago. It looks like in a few more days I will be able to harvest again. Besides the amazing freshest food I could get, I’m actually learning so much! I absolutely love my indoor garden!
Reply from Gardyn2026-07-13
We're thrilled to hear you're already enjoying fresh harvests and that your Gardyn is helping you learn along the way. There's nothing better than harvesting food you grew yourself! Cheers to many more delicious salads 🥗 Happy Gardyning!
It’s really great to either germinate for taking it outdoors in the spring/summer months or to have a full in home garden all year long!!

I wasn't completely sold on this Gardyn, then I was!
I wasn't completely sold on this Gardyn "thing" and especially the the ai. Well after 5 months I'm sold 100%! I've harvested so many salad/herb foods. I love Kelby (ai) that makes it so easy. Customer service is 5 star for sure.

After a year with Gardyn Studio, here's my honest experience
I wanted to share my experience for anyone researching Gardyn.
I purchased a Studio about a year ago and really wanted it to work. I don't mind gardening or regular maintenance, but I was surprised by how much troubleshooting became part of the experience.
During the year I experienced:
Multiple yCubes that never germinated
Recurring root rot
Plants wilting and browning
Inconsistent harvests
Repeated deep cleaning
Root trimming
Replacing plants
Multiple support tickets
To Gardyn's credit, their support team was always courteous. They replaced yCubes, provided credits, and spent considerable time responding to my questions.
The challenge was that each new issue seemed to result in another possible explanation or another maintenance step:
Humidity
Nutrient timing
Start of Water date
Root trimming
HydroBoost
Water source
More cleaning
More maintenance
Eventually, I realized I was spending far more time troubleshooting and maintaining the system than actually harvesting food.
After documenting these issues over the course of a year, I requested a goodwill refund. My case was escalated to Gardyn's leadership team, but my request was ultimately denied because I was outside the return window.
One of the most frustrating parts of the experience was learning—after nearly a year of support tickets—that my Start of Water setting may have contributed to many of the problems I encountered. I couldn't understand why such a fundamental setting hadn't been identified much earlier during the many rounds of troubleshooting.
Today, some plants are growing well, but not many, and several yCubes in my current garden still have not germinated at all. That inconsistency has been the defining theme of my ownership experience.
Update: Gardyn responded publicly to this review, acknowledging that I experienced a year of troubleshooting, repeated support tickets, and inconsistent results, and agreeing that they should have identified the Start of Water issue much earlier. I genuinely appreciate that acknowledgment. However, I also think it's important for prospective buyers to know that, despite that acknowledgment and a leadership review of my case, Gardyn declined my request for a refund and instead offered additional troubleshooting and coaching.
I know many people have great experiences with Gardyn, and I'm genuinely happy for them. Unfortunately, mine never became the low-maintenance indoor garden I expected.
I'd be interested to hear whether others have had similar experiences or whether mine is simply an outlier.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Josefin, and for being so thoughtful and fair in how you wrote it.
We're truly sorry this wasn't the experience you deserved. A year of troubleshooting, repeated support tickets, and inconsistent results that's not what Gardyn is meant to feel like, and your frustration is completely justified.
You deserved a smoother journey, and we should have caught the Start of Water issue much earlier. That's a fair criticism, and we're taking it seriously.
We understand the refund decision was disappointing. Your feedback is being shared directly with our Leadership team, because it matters and it will help us do better.
We'd like one more chance to connect with you by phone and email to review your current setup and make sure your remaining plants get the attention they need.
We appreciate your honesty, and we're confident we can turn this around for you.
Had a few seeds that didn't sprout, which were credited as replacements. But within a few weeks of everything sprouting and starting to grow, nearly everything is showing signs of burning from the lights. The basil seeds were infected with the basil rot, the first few leaves almost immediately turned black. The sunflowers have turned black. The oregano is dead. It's been almost 4 months and not a single thing has sprouted a flower or grown large enough to harvest aside from the lettuce sprouts I pruned and planted in a separate box.

Thank you for taking the time to share this and we’re genuinely sorry. After four months of caring for your Gardyn, you deserve to be enjoying real harvests, not watching your plants struggle. That’s not the experience we want for you, and we’d truly like to help turn this around.
What you’re describing with the burning, the blackened basil and sunflowers, and the slow growth tells us something deeper is worth investigating, and our plant experts would love to take a closer look. They can review your specific setup, light settings, and growing conditions to get to the root of what’s happening.
We truly care about your experience and would have reached out directly, but we were unable to locate your contact information in our system. Please email us at [email protected] so we can look into this and help make it right. We’d appreciate the chance to get your Gardyn thriving the way it should.
Deeply disappointed – a very expensive lamp, not a garden
I purchased a Gardyn Home Kit in December 2024 and have owned it for over a year. Despite following all instructions and repeatedly working with support, I have never had a single truly successful harvest. Instead of the “easy, smart indoor garden” that’s advertised to anyone, what I have in my apartment is a huge, bright, space‑consuming lamp that has never delivered on its basic promise .
Throughout this year, I have opened multiple support tickets, tried every troubleshooting suggestion, and invested a lot of time trying to make this system work. The process has been frustrating, inconsistent, and incredibly time‑consuming, and at no point has Gardyn acknowledged that a product that never produces a usable garden is fundamentally not working as sold .
What makes this even worse is what happened after I finally pleaded for a refund. Since then, I’ve experienced a sudden spike in connectivity problems with the device and app, to the point where it’s been genuinely triggering. Given the timing, these issues feel less like random glitches and more like a dismissive response to my attempts to get a fair resolution, which has only deepened my distrust and frustration.
Gardyn positions itself as a premium, smart system that makes indoor gardening easy and accessible, but my experience has been the opposite: constant issues, no meaningful harvests, and a company that hides behind rigid policies rather than standing behind its product when it clearly doesn’t work as promised . At this point, I’m stuck paying for a system that has never functioned as a garden in any reasonable sense.
If you are considering Gardyn, especially at this price point, I strongly recommend reading experiences like mine and thinking very carefully. In my case, it has been an expensive, emotionally draining mistake that I would not make again .

Thank you for sharing your experience. After more than a year of effort without the results you hoped for, we completely understand why you’re feeling frustrated, and we want you to know we take your concerns seriously.
Our Support team has been working directly with you and remains committed to helping you have a more positive experience with your Gardyn. A personalized 1:1 grow coaching session with one of our plant experts is still available to you, along with warranty coverage through January 2027 and ongoing support whenever you’re ready.
We also want to clarify that the connectivity notifications you received were related to a temporary system-wide outage affecting multiple users and were not connected to your support case or refund request. This issue has since been resolved, and we sincerely regret that the timing caused additional concern.
We know this has not been the experience you expected, and we appreciate the time and effort you’ve invested. Our team remains here and ready to support you whenever you’d like to continue working together toward a successful growing experience.
Cheap, flimsy junk. I've had it for several years and its design is inherently flawed. The cheap bracket securing the towers is a joke. It's unstable and prone to tipping. Cleaning, while not a functional problem, is a nightmare and must be undertaken more of than you'd think. And finally, I cleaned it up in preparation for resale (as if) and of course the pump stopped working and I can't tell if it's the pump or the water sensor (see other comments on that), but I'm not willing to waste another dime on this piece of junk. This unit should cost $200-300 max. Anything over that is just grifting. You're better off putting that money towards building your own hydroponic system using a timer or smart outlet, better, higher quality pump and all around easier maintenance. Cannot not recommend strongly enough.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear how frustrated you've been, especially after owning your Gardyn for several years. That's not the experience we want for our Gardyners.
We understand how discouraging it is to run into issues with your setup, maintenance, and your pump or water sensor. Our support team has helped many Gardyners troubleshoot and resolve these types of concerns, and we'd genuinely love the opportunity to work through them with you as well. Please reach out to us at [email protected], and we'll do everything we can to get your Gardyn back up and running.
We believe these issues can be resolved, and we'd love the chance to help you get back to Gardyning. We appreciate your honest feedback, and we hope you'll give us the opportunity to make this right.
Purchased 30 plant system Aug. 2024. While initially they help you with your first sow. They have made it progressively more difficult to manage locking you out of options in order to get you to sign up for their $400+ year subscriptions. No more help on minding your grow. To the point that even automated water schedule has failed. If you're looking for a hydroponic system. Pick one that gives you options to grow instead of pushing you to high cost subscriptions. Can purchase a lot of plants annually from nurseries for $400.

We appreciate you sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your Gardyn journey has felt frustrating, especially after your initial setup. We understand how important it is to feel confident and supported while growing.
We’d like to clarify that without a membership, you can still connect your Gardyn to the Gardyn app, adjust automatic lighting and watering schedules, and monitor temperature, humidity, and water levels to help maintain your system. Non-members can also continue purchasing plant yCubes directly through the app.
We’re also concerned to hear about the watering schedule issue you mentioned, as that is not the experience we want for our Gardyners. Our support team would be happy to look into this with you and help troubleshoot your Gardyn directly.
Please reach out to us anytime at [email protected]. We’re here to help and would appreciate the opportunity to improve your experience.
Not “Smart”, Issues with Mold & Non-Sprouting for Gardyn Studio 2
I have had my Gardyn studio 2 for about 2 months. Despite following maintenance recommendations, the Gardyn has had lots of issues with mold. The AI/“smart” features of the Gardyn are not helpful or smart and didn’t alert me to these root/mold issues. The Gardyn cannot even determine which plants you are growing and share recommendations, which I felt was one of the main benefits to the “smart” system. I have had at least 1/3 of the seeds/pods fail to sprout. I left a 2- star review after being requested by Gardyn to leave a review, and I noticed they never posted it on their website even though it was fair and accurate. After reaching out to customer service to inquire about a return, I am ineligible because I didn’t check that I completed one of the tasks one time. I am now debating whether to try to sell or give away. Although some plants have grown well, the lack of smart features and high maintenance are hard to upkeep. The light is also so bright for an actual studio apartment.
