What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many consumers generally find the online platform very easy to use, thoroughly appreciating the intuitive and modern interface for organizing corporate travel. People frequently mention that booking trips and setting up personal travel details is usually very straightforward and efficient. However, some customers also noted frustrating issues regarding customer support response times and unhelpful assistance. Some people were clearly dissatisfied with higher pricing for hotel upgrades or changes compared to booking directly through airlines. Travelers additionally mentioned significant difficulties when trying to modify existing reservations or handle unexpected schedule changes.

What people say

Navan is a great concept, but currently glitchy

I use Navan probably 30 hours a week. The concept of having travel & expense in 1 platform with a user friendly interface is what sold us. Most people have no idea how much detail goes into a platform like this. Dynamic pricing, real time results, contracts with vendors etc. However, I would rather have a solid, basic, platform than one that crashes and glitches multiple times a day. We don't need all the high tech bells and whistles they keep promoting, we need something that actually works consistently. If they don't get their priorities straight, they will lose their customer base and never get them back.

Small business travel

As a small business, we have struggled to find a travel agency that fits our needs and doesn't break the bank. Navan has been a blessing for us! It is such a win-win. It doesn't require a subscription or create overhead, but allows us to seamlessly book travel. We have added several company sub-contractors using Navan and the process has been easy and efficient. The app is great too! It allows us to be able to check or update travel plans on the go and is easy to use. The rewards are great too. Having an assistant that books much of the travel means that she can actually earn rewards to use personally while booking company travel for personnel. We highly recommend Navan for it's ease of use. the few times we have had to contact support have also been very easy and the support team was great.

I booked a hotel through Navan for four…

I booked a hotel through Navan for four people—two adults and two children at an initial price of €1,026. However, when we arrived, the hotel informed me that Navan had made the reservation for only one adult. The hotel therefore refused to provide us with the room unless I paid approximately €1,600. I contacted Navan immediately, and they claimed they had tried to contact the hotel to arrange coverage of the additional costs. However, nothing was resolved, and I was forced to pay the extra amount myself. Check in was at 15:00 but we only managed to check in to our Room after 18:30 after I paid 1600 EUR. To make matters worse, when we finally entered the room, it was suitable for only two people, despite the fact that I had clearly booked and paid for four. I provided Navan with evidence confirming that my original booking was for two adults and two children. Since 17 August, I have repeatedly contacted Navan, but nobody has properly followed up with me or taken responsibility for resolving the issue. They have never contacted me about refunding the additional money I was forced to pay or even mentioned the possibility of a refund. Every time I contact them, I am passed to another representative and have to explain the entire situation again. Navan’s mistake caused unnecessary stress throughout our holiday and left me significantly out of pocket. Their lack of communication, accountability, and customer support has been completely unacceptable.

If you need to engage with their travel…

If you need to engage with their travel team, they are awful. My direct flight from Las Vegas to Manchester got cancelled. They ‘automatically’ rearranged to a flight with an overnight stay in Paris (but with no hotel booked). Called the Navan travel care team and I spent over 5 hours on the phone with them (mainly whilst being on hold) to rearrange so i was on the same flight as my colleagues via London (which didnt require an overnight stay). They sent me the flight details to london and by this time i needed to board the flight, but they said that will book me on a connecting flight London to Manchester so by the time i land in london they said i will have those flight details. Landed in London and of course no flight details for the connecting flight. Called them and their answer was because I was calling them so long after my original flight got cancelled this no longer qualified as rebooking of a cancelled flight so I needed to go on their travel portal and book a new flight…. I just walked up to BAs desk and bought my ticket directly with them rather than trying to use Navan Not only absolutely awful service, also completely incompetent staff

The app is not loyalty friendly.

The app itself is useless. If you’re a hotel chain loyalty member, everything has to be done on the website. The app never remembers the hotel chain loyalty numbers and it never registers them once they’ve been put in. I am tired of having to do everything on the website just so that my loyalty number is applied to my booking.

Only use Navan if you're fine with losing money

I'm forced to book with Navan in my company. The app for hotel booking is really a horrible experience when you're used to other established hotel booking apps. Most information is missing. When I booked a hotel for a private trip, the hotel never got my booking but the money was gone anyways and I had to pay a second time at the hotel. The support chat is completely useless. My advice: Only use Navan if you're fine with losing money.

Very bad customer service, overworked staff

Easy, simple and logical to use. Great when all goes well. Appalling customer service when things don’t go well. For the third time now, one of the multiple flights on a trip had suddenly been cancelled. No logical explanation given other than the airline didn’t accept my card, even though the same airline accepted the card a few moments earlier for a different flight. Told I will get a refund in 24 hours and a week later, still waiting. Online staff are super slow. I believe they are doing their best but are clearly overworked dealing with more than one customer at a time so responses take forever. This is a continuous issue, not a one-off. Use Expedia or Trip - way better!

Two punctual things failed.

Two punctual things failed. - Information clarity: Communication is NOT CLEAR you have to do many clicks to get to your transparent information. - Service is a deception. I booked a flight on the seat 7k and they put me on the seat 26k affecting my whole schedule. I didnt know my seat number until entering the plane. Not good.

Product team doesn’t seem to test new features

A new feature is rolled out to allow luggage booking with EasyJet. However it seems like nobody at product is testing the feature because it does not work with a very common corporate credit card. According to the card issue you can’t charge and reserve payments at the same time so stop doing that. Customer support is also clueless.
