Web page charges incorrectly/warehouse sends wrong merchandise

I ordered honey jars from PMT in full compliance with their webpage. I live out of state and decided to take a long (2 hr one way) drive to pick up the jars in the store. I clicked Store Pickup on the web page and selected a date/time for pickup. Upon arrival, they had jars from the warehouse, ready to go. Unfortunately, they were the WRONG jars. It took about an hour of standing around but a fine young man went to the warehouse and got the correct jars. Ok, a wasted hour after driving 2 hours isn't that big of a deal (I guess). The next day I received a phone call from the manager of PMT saying that I left without paying GA sales tax. I reminded her that I paid online and their computer software did not charge me. To me, she was putting the onus on me, saying that I left without paying the sales tax. I told her that if they were supposed to have charged tax I would have paid it, but they never said anything about it and their store website did not charge it either. I was subsequently emailed an invoice with a note to "Pay within 24 hrs". As frustrating as this is, I always try to do the right thing, so I paid the invoice within the time limit. I had problems getting an order correct last year too. Time to find another bee supply store.

Mr. Riggle, We are very sorry about the wait you had for your order. Our customer service employees did state that the jars brought over for you were labeled wrong (our error) so they had to go pick up more for the warehouse. But you also asked for additional jars, which we gladly brought back from the warehouse as well -- this did add a bit of time to the task. Our employees felt that both you and your wife did enjoy your time at the store and never got the sense that you were aggravated at all. As for the taxes, we did apologize profusely for that oversight when you were called. The people manning the cash register the day of your visit were not aware of the missing taxes, and they did not know you needed to pay them. When asked if you would like to pay by credit card over the phone, you declined and asked that we send you an invoice -- which we did. While computer software errors are frustrating for us all, they do occur and we too must do the right thing and collect the taxes owed so that we stay in compliance with the laws. We do strive to provide our customers the best possible service that we can. Mistakes happen, as they did in this case, but we did our best to rectify the problems in a professional and courteous way. We regret that you do not feel the same and hope that will give us another chance. Be on the lookout in your email for a personalized discount code to use online or at our store on a future purchase. We hope to see you again! --Pigeon Mountain Trading Company

I ordered a bee package which came to…

A terrible company to work with. I ordered a bee package which came to me damaged and with dead bees. I notified Pigeon Mountain Trading Company of what I had encountered and they made a claim with the post office and refused to compensate me for the damaged package and dead bees. They got the money from the post office, which I understand was around 499.00 and I lost 190.00 dealing with Pigeon Mountain Trading Company. Buyer beware they will not do any refunds. They just ignore your emails to get things set right. I dealt with Lori Jackson to be specific. The claim is not my claim, the claim is yours with the post office. The post office told me that you insured the package for just under 500.00 so I assumed that it was for 499.00 since anything over 500.00 would have incurred a steeper charge. You could have compensated me long ago. Like I said this is your claim with the post office. I went through all of the steps to insure that you would have a valid claim. You have had more than enough time to compensate me for my loss since it was your shoddy packaging being damaged that led to the bees being put in a bag in the first place. Like I have said this is your claim with the post office, not mine. You should have compensated me months ago. Crappy customer service.

Mr. Smith, We are so sorry that the Postal Service has not approved your claim yet. We have not refused to compensate you for your purchase, as the claim is still under review with the USPS. I'm not quite sure from whom you are receiving your information about our receiving $499.00 from the Post Office, but that is untrue. We insure the bees for the cost of the package, and no more. Our manager, Lori Jackson, even sent you the screen shot of the the USPS page showing that your claim is still under review. We know how frustrating your loss is, and we are not pleased with the way your bees arrived. Why anyone at the post office would think sticking a box of living bees in a bag is a good idea is beyond comprehension. Please know, that despite your frustration, we are doing everything we can on your behalf with the Post Office. As soon as your claim is approved, we will refund you your money. --Pigeon Mountain Trading Company

We ordered multiple semi-ventilated bee…

We ordered multiple semi-ventilated bee jackets. We have ordered many bee jackets form multiple suppliers looking for a quality, breathable jacket that still provides some sting protection. Our crew love the new jackets and they seem better quality than most others we've ordered. Delivery was also surprisingly quick. Great work over there! We plan to order from them again.

Great service and new ventilated suit

Great communication and assistance! I needed help deciding on suit and glove sizes and the ladies went above and beyond helping me decide the best fit. It wohld be nice if the new ventilated suit came in womens curves and the XS and S gloves werent essentially the same size. I would also suggest longer zippers around the ankles. But... I really like everythinf I've purchased and others from my bee club have purchased suits based on my recommendation. The seam did come apart in one glove but I've stitched that back up. Hope that helps. I will be purchasing from you again :-)

Superb service and great quality overall

I had a few issues with packing etc. They took ownership of the problems and replaced the items on the spot. The only negative I currently have is that their hive covers are a bit on the small side and often difficult to align with the inner cover and super. I always need to back up and check to be sure they're seated properly. I've been doing this for well over forty years and this is the first time I've ever had that problem. Their quality is top notch otherwise.

I have purchased bees from PM twice

I have purchased bees from PM twice, as my sister has too. Each time, we don't seem to make out well. When we get the bees from Mann Lake they thrive, PM bees always flounder and do not do well here. Maybe is is the shipping ride, as we drive out into PA to get the Mann Lake bees, but I am not sure what the problem is. This year, when the bees arrived, there were four bees in the queen cage, and it was sealed. Not sure what was going on there either. The company seems to be a good one, but we have had bee problems. Not sure what to think.

Bee Keepers Selling Bees

Staff were very easy to work with. We are undecided of the queen being free or caged. Caged easy to find, free would see evidence of queens acceptance and laying ability. Picked up bees 23 May 19, very active and appearing to be a solid hive, today 14 Jun 19.
