Great customer service
I have 2 young children and over the years have come to expect issues when setting up devices on their behalf. Pinwheel has been great to deal with and any issues I have had, their customer service team have dealt with really quickly.
Would not recommend the pinwheel phone
Customer service was always good. The GPS was terrible and unreliable. We needed an additional service for that purpose. The phone was glitchy throughout the entire time we used it and a huge pain. Appreciated the approving of contacts, apps, and the schedules, and the text review.
Christmas Day Set Up
On Christmas Day, I had a few questions while setting up the Pinwheel phone. The representative, Chen, was extremely helpful and thorough in answering my questions. Chen was patient while walking me through each step and made sure everything worked to my satisfaction before moving on to the next issue.

It really is a wonderful service.
My daughter is 9, 8 when I got her the phone. It seems like such a young age to give a child a phone but her mom and I are divorced and she needs a safe way that she can communicate with either of us, so I thought it necessary. But I also knew that I didn't want her to have access to things that were beyond her age and I didn't want her to have unbridled freedom in case something goes wrong. Either with her mom, or a friend, or anything in between. The Pinwheel phone and service gives me that - my daughter has the freedom through Google play to request apps, but I have authority to provide and allow what I think is safe for her age. If I don't allow it, the phone won't let her use it. I can also determine times that are okay for her to use her phone while still allowing her to communicate with me, her mom, or any other caregiver during that time for her own safety. I can track her location, or the location of the phone if needed. She can't add any new people and no stranger can message or call her without being reviewed by me first. AND, there's no internet browser or social media allowed on the phone by automatic settings. Pinwheel provided me with a safe, affordable way to give my daughter freedom while still being able to protect her if needed and that's a beautiful thing and my daughter feels safe knowing that I won't go through her messages unless there's some possible danger or harm and she feels safe knowing that she can contact me or her mom in any situation. It really is a wonderful service.

Better with Android or Apple
The product isn't intuitive and you can get the same functionality using Android or Apple directly for no cost. I returned the phone and spent in excess of 20 hours trying to make that happen over a period of a month. I did however obtain a full refund.

Very frustrating system
Very frustrating system, not at all intuitive. You approve things but then they are not actually allowed on the phone. Contacted customer services once and found them really unhelpful. I haven’t regretted a purchase this much in a long time. I would not recommend to anyone, wish we had just got a much cheaper standard phone, we bought this as there were some apps we wanted our son to have like google map but we can’t actually get any of them to work. We even have to approve things like listening to voicemails which isn’t helpful when grandparents are trying to get in touch with our son. At one point he didn’t even have permission to be able to hang up a call or put it on speaker phone which to us seemed a bit extreme, we did manage to fix this, although we aren’t actually sure how, there is lots of pushing buttons until you get the right outcome as the system is very tricky to use in the parent portal. I have given two stars purely because he can text using the phone and make calls but in all honesty you could do this with a much cheaper phone. Overall I would say purchasing this phone was a very expensive mistake.
Very Responsive!
I wanted to upgrade my son's phone during the Black Friday sale which preceeded the end of his current plan. I sent a text asking how to accomplish this and received a quick response with instructions. Each question was answered promptly. My older son has a Verizon phone and I have spent 2+ hours on the phone with Verizon over the past few weeks and my request to terminate his service has not yet been satisfied. Thank you for the great service!

Rizza was very helpful to get my questions resolved. Since all the communication was through email, Sharm ended up taking over for part of the resolution. The communication between the two was seamless and the issue was resolved quickly. I appreciate their help.

Fantastic customer service. A few teething issues with setting up the new pinwheel phone but quickly resolved when Chen B stepped in to assist. Chen B was super pleasant, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. Thanks Chen B. Hopefully it will be fully set up ready for my teenager to use soon.
