CAUTION

CAUTION! When checking out pay close attention to what you click on. I wound up being billed $32.39 monthly for Prepared Hero Academy and when you realize this is some sort of recurring charge, and request to cancel you don't get your money back! Customer service was nice about it: I think they get a lot of these calls since he knew exactly what I was talking about without having to give any details. Fire Blankets themself were a welcome gift to everyone and I can see it being useful if the need arises.

I ordered and received product in a timely matter. BUT I was looking over my credit card and found I had been charged $31.58 MONTH FOR 6 MONTHS! They said I joined the VIP Club...I did not remember doing that and as a senior NOT for $31.58 a month-maybe 1 time charge. They refunded me only 3 months. NOT happy getting the full 6 back! They need to make it clear it is a monthly charge not 1 time charge!

Fraudulent enrollment in "VIP"…

Fraudulent enrollment in "VIP" Membership without any authorization or consent. They add this VIP membership to your cart upon checkout and note it is "free" on the receipt. There's no disclosure that they consider it a 30 day trial. And then they start billing every single month, hoping you won't catch it in your bank statements. This company is a fraudulent credit card thief masquerading as a manufacturer of home safety products.

I have always liked the concept and idea, of your prepared hero fire blankets, when I have seen them on TV, or on the Internet. I feel more safe and secure, in the event, I may have a fire!

Excellent service & product gives peace of mind

Ordered four fire blankets & received them within TWO days! Unbelievable customer service! One is for my household & the remainder for my adult children. I hope we never have to use, but it gives peace of mind just in case. Thank you Prepared Hero for your service to our communities as Firefighters & for your products!

I ordered 4 blankets based on online & got scammed into a paid VIP family membership

I ordered 4 blankets based on online reviews. What I did not realize was the recurring monthly charge for a paid VIP family membership that was tacked on to my order. The website is deceptive and preys upon its consumers. When I called customer service to dispute these charges, they relented and refunded my money. I'm so disappointed in this organization, as I thought they were trustworthy.

The Gift I Hope I Never Need

I bought two, one is hanging by the fridge and the second one is our deck. I hope that I never use them but it’s worth the security of knowing that they’re available if needed.

The best *potential* waste of money

I woke up late one morning and decided that I wanted to make macaroni and cheese for breakfast (because I’m an adult and have free will and can do that if I want to). So while running around trying to get ready for work, I turned the stove top on. It smelled funky so I figured there was something on the drip pan from a previous meal, but I didn’t think anything of it. So as I’m packing my lunch across the kitchen, my stove caught fire. I removed the pot from the burner, turned off the stove, and then grabbed the fire blanket because the flame wasn’t dying out on its own. I placed it over the burner and just as quickly as it started, it was over. Now can I say for a FACT that the fire blanket prevented my building from burning down? No. But I can say for a fact that I didn’t have to keep waiting to see if the flame would go out on its own, I didn’t have to wait and see if it would melt the back of my stove, and/or potentially catch my cabinets on fire. As I was already frazzled and running behind that morning, the fire blanket was easy enough to use and so effective that I was able to use it within 10 minutes of rolling out of bed, still half asleep. What could have been an incredibly dangerous situation turned into a joke I was making with my boss half an hour later at work (so easy to use I didn’t even bother using the fire as an excuse to call out of work. And trust me, I was looking for a reason). I had received this fire blanket as a gift from my parents and I can only imagine the relief they experienced as they opened their texts at 7AM to find a text joking about my morning with a picture of the blanket over the stove attached. That could have very well been a very different text I sent that morning. Maybe you buy this blanket for yourself or a loved one and it never gets used (just like an outfit or a kitchen gadget we swore we would get so much use out of and now sits in the back of a closet or cabinet somewhere, never actually being used). But MAYBE you buy it and it saves a life, a home, a pet, etc. Maybe you never need it and you get to call it a waste of money. Maybe you use it and it becomes one of the best purchases you’ve ever made. It’s better to have and not need than need and not have, right? I received this as a gift and felt so strongly about it that I actually reached out to customer support to see how I could leave a review for it. I highly recommend this item to anybody considering it (and even anybody not considering it, honestly).

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Ordered some blankets and then got scammed into some sort of recurring charge that I did not sign up for and was definitely not aware of. Also, when I log into the website, it says, no subscriptions and no saved card. That is 100% fraud.

Blanket works, Fiberglass woes...

I really like the idea of having a fire blanket ready for the worst. We recently had a fire and needed to use our blanket. Unfortunately, we found out that the blanket had short fiberglass resulting in it getting our clothes, hands, and other exposed skin. Expectation was long fiberglass to prevent this. Blanket works, but be prepared to throw your clothes away and need to extract the fiberglass from exposed skin.

This appears to be a well made product, everthing looks quite sturdy. I hope that I never have to need it to find out whether the product works as promised.

Absolutely 💯 a scam

Absolutely 💯 a scam. I have a reoccurring $32.00 charge monthly that was never in my order. I tried calling and sat on the phone for 10 minutes and then it hung up on me. I'm now going to dispute my charges with my credit card and Highly recommend everyone do the same.

Recurring monthly charges of $32 on credit card, continuing to try to opt out of subscription VIP charges whatever that is for, and communication difficult. Tricky checkout messages when ordering as well, small print to decline adding extra blankets to order and large continue button automatically added them so charged more. Now recurring charges as well. Very sketchy and not worth trusting them with my business.
