I liked how user friendly the portal is and how fast the process went, but I did not like having so many points of contact across Rocket who did not seem to be communicating, adding stress during an already stressful time for us as first time homebuyers. Rocket has lots of opportunity to improve in the areas of client service/management and attention to detail across their end-to-end lifecycle. We had multiple people sending duplicate emails with conflicting information who were unable to answer our questions. Some team members were focused on their piece of the puzzle, which left us not feeling taken care of or supported during a big moment for our family. Rocket needs to remember that external people do not care of understand the nuances between their lines of business. Having one dedicated point of contact would have made a big difference for us.
Everything went pretty good with closing everybody was very nice, I only criticisms would be first that there would too many people involved that would call you with the same problems instead of just dealing with one person so you didn't have to say it over and over.(although that was worse with the buyer than us) And then at the actual closing to sign papers they sent a notary, and he was very nice don't get me wrong, but he was not allowed to explain any of the paperwork you were signing which I did not like, there was a lot of paperwork and some of it wasn't totally understandable and he couldn't help you I did not like that
It was very convenient and our closer did a great job! We signed things that didn’t need to be notarized ahead of the appointment, and the rest during the closing appointment. Top notch!
There were elements the process where people were misinformed or not educated on the process and therefore misinformed me. For example. I was told my husband did not need to be at the closing. I drove to a unique location to have online closing and then they wouldn’t even get online with me because he wasn’t in attendance. I had verified in two different ways three times that he did not need to be there.
Then he was told that he only had one document to sign and would be online for 3 minutes. What actually occurred was he had at least five things to sign and required to be online the entire closing which he had not allowed time for, for he was in the middle of his workday.
It was just not well run or orchestrated.
I also find a disconcerting that this keeps getting referred to as a refinance when it isn’t and I’ve clarified that multiple times as well. Even the email I just got today referred to it as a refinance.
I would not recommend this company, especially a young person buying their first home because of the confusion in this process.
Everyone we talked to was very informative' professional , and friendly. It didn't take us long to get the loan we were looking for. If you are looking for a loan, Rocket Mortgage is number 1 in my book.
I'm the seller, it seemed like it was a long process, we were given a tentative closing date for July 6th, then was told it would be July 24th, but didn't close until July 27th. Wasn't given any information as to why the closing date was changed. The person that we were working with was bad about not answering phone calls or returning phone calls. The notary that came to do the closing was great. I personally would not use Rocket Mortgage.
The communication between the company and I was exceptional. What I liked about it was the several options, email, text or through my portal. The service that I received was exceptional. Everyone I spoke with was kind, polite and professional. The process was smooth and free of confusion. Overall, I was treated like a person. I would definitely recommend this company!
