We were taking the last load from the house prior to moving but did not want to rent a trailer. The RoofBag was perfect! It was shipped quickly, was inexpensive, and held a lot of stuff. We went through driving wind/rain and the bag did not leak at all.It held tightly to the roof although we did follow previous suggestions to put a squishy rug pad under it. No reservations at all.
We bought this to go to Florida from New York since we needed the extra room for 2 dogs in our SUV. When I received it I kind of questioned the durability and weather it would stay put on our roof. We do not have roof rails to tie it to( which is why we could not buy the fiberglass unit) so had to go through the car to secure it. I have to say that it performed beautifully with no movement. Just make sure you secure it well with the straps and check it every time you stop to make sure it is still secure. I would also highly recommend the pad that goes under the bag which keeps it from skidding or moving. I drive at 75 to 80 mph on the Interstate and having a sunroof also helps so you can visually see how it rides. It was excellent. So far we have traveled over 2400 miles with no incident. Good purchase
The bag fit perfectly on our car. We had heavy rain on our trip and yet all our bags were were nice and dry. The only dry back is that I wish the car pad was built into the bag itself.
Great Bag worked great on our east coast adventures
Handled all the surplus gear on a 1,000 mile drive to Florida without problems. Swallowed dog crates, grooming tables, luggage and more. Once the strap vibration was sorted out, we hardly knew it was on the car.
Bought our RoofBag for a family trip to accommodate a week's worth of stuff for three adults, two kids, and a baby—and all in a VW Golf. The RoofBag was easy to set up, and more than doubled our storage capacity, which was a great change. We stuck to putting lighter items like sleeping bags, towels, etc. in the RoofBag just in case anything went wrong, but everything was perfect. It keeps water out, is durable, and just great.
I have a Buick Enclave. We were going to a beach house with grandkids and 2 big dogs for a week. It made it nice to put most of our stuff on top. We had to play with how to lay out and load the roof bag, it finally all worked well. Do need step stool. Wish we could have put the big dog on top.... he drooled on my granddaughter the whole way.
Great bag! No issues with the company. A warning to anyone without a rack, do not pack it full with hard items. We had 2 suitcases with wheels down, a table tent, chairs, plus other items to fill it and ended up denting our roof.
Excellent product, exactly what we needed for our cross country trip!!! highly recommend to everyone!!!
I drive a Toyota Highlander and the roof bag was a good companion for our road trip to New Jersey from New Hampshire. In addition to the roof bag, I purchased the mat the step ladder and the duffle bags. We had no issues traveling and didn’t experience any wind noise. The bag held all of our clothes and blankets and we were able to store the rest of our stuff in the vehicle. We did take the roof bag off the vehicle when we arrived at our destination. You need two people to set it up and when you are zippering the bag closed. I am giving this product a five star because the products purchased were worth the money.
It’s awesome and easily installed. But one of the zipper loops broke off on the first pull and sometimes the protection foam under the bag is pushed towards back of the bag while driving on highway. I’m about to use it again driving from New Jersey to Florida.
Seems to be well-made. Has worked well but haven't used it a lot yet.
The product was what we expected, delivered as promised and works great. It's easy to set up and pack. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing a cost effective, durable and easy to use overhead roof rack.
The bag fit fine and held firmly on roof throughout trip, which included periods of hard rain and snow!
I'm only giving you 4 stars because I haven't used the product yet so I don't know how it will work. I bought it for a trip that we ended up not taking. The online experience of buying the product was very easy and informative, and when I tried it out on my car I found it to be the correct size and as long as I get it tied down correctly, it should work. The cost was reasonable and appears to be very well made.
We have used our RoofBag three times since it was purchased and are delighted to have the extra space when we have a van full of passengers, luggage, and other stuff to take on a trip.
I ordered a RoofBag by phone. It was shipped immediately and preformed perfectly on a 1500 trip. Everything in the bag stayed clean and dry even after two hours of driving in heavy rain. A bonus for me is that it not only is made in the USA but actually cost significantly less than similar products made overseas. Thank you!
Very nice polite very knowledgeable was quick to ship to me.
We bought this as an alternate to a hard shell cargo carrier because we wanted something that we could store more easily. Although it looks a little lumpy on the top of the roof rack, it held up well on a 2000 mile summer trip through the western US and up into Canada. Absolutely waterproof and held up to some very strong winds. Not as secure as a hard shell carrier but We had no attempted thefts.
Only recommendation is to let people without a roof rack who need to strap the bag through the cars interior is to tell them a trick we learned while on vacation. If you twist the straps from the car window to the roof bag, it eliminates the very annoying noise that the straps make when driving. Figured it out 1 hour from home, in the meantime we played music loud enough to overcome it. Other that that this bag gets 5 stars, heldbup really well.
