What people say

a USA company!

I found this company on line with a google search. I had been looking for car top carriers for awhile but this one was one stop shopping. Also it’s a USA company and that sealed it for us. They were quick to deliver and everything was easy to put together. I think one of the things we like the most is the “step” that attaches to the tire. Glad we found this company and the product looks to be of quality. We will be using it soon.

100% weatherproof material worked its magic while we drove cross country through sleet and heavy rain. It can hold a surprising amount of items, and is super easy to install. We don’t have cargo bars on our roof so we had to put the straps underneath the roof through our car, which made it pretty noisy as the straps hit wind (the tighter you pull the straps the quieter the noise, but too tight it could dent the roof), but the bag itself did everything it promised. It’s convenient and well worth the price. Absolutely loved our Roof Bag!

Bought the product so I could have more room inside.

Bought the product so I could have more room inside my vehicle. It is very well made. Drove about 1500 miles in rain, high winds, with no leakage and shifted backwards about 4-6". This con won't apply to many however if you are a really petite female you could have issues. Note: a couple of guys who move furniture placed and secured the RoofBag for me. With that being said, if you are really small and the packed weight combined with the height of a SUV may not be doable by yourself. Also this same combo makes it almost impossible to adjust the system once in place. For those who are normal size recommend hands down.

RoofBag durability

I purchased a RoofBag for my daughter 5 years ago. It still works great! I purchased a Samsonite roofbag for my car a year ago. It completely shredded and we lost items, on its first usage for a cross country trip, I then bought a RoofBag for my car. It’s been on one round trip cross country trip, and it looks great. I will never again buy a different roof bag brand. This is the best made roof bag ever!

Disappointing

The product was delivered quickly. I only used my RoofBag once. I camp with grandchildren and needed extra room in the car. The bag held the items I wanted. We had pouring rain. The RoofBag kept everything dry -- until I needed to remove items to bring into the hotel. Wind caused the bag to bunch up. It was awkward to unzip and remove items. I liked the price, but I now think I should have invested in a hard shell car top cargo carrier such as Thule or Yakima.

Pros outweigh the cons

I got the roof bag to move myself and my kids across the country in my SUV. It worked great. I don't think I would have had a successful move without it. The only negatives were like some other reviews I had read, rain leaked in while driving down. I wasn't able to loosen the straps at the time bc of my location, but it wasn't terrible and only happened when it was very heavy rain. The other negative was the straps left a mark on my car. Scratched the paint. I may have had the straps too tight, but it's pretty hard to gauge when installing bc you just want to make sure it doesn't slide off. I would use it again.

RoofBag is Exactly What I Need

I used my first RoofBag once or twice a year for 12 years and it worked exactly as intended: it kept my overflow cargo dry and secure when I needed it, and it stored flat and took up very little space in the garage when I didn't. 12 years takes it toll, so I was happy to see that RoofBag was still in business when I needed to replace my original. I was also happy to see that the current model has improved upon some of the weaker aspects of the original, e.g the straps and zipper pulls. The new straps are awesome and make fastening and unfastening the bag from my roof rack much easier when it is cold and dark out at the end of a 14 hour drive. GREAT PRODUCT!

Actually acquired the Roofbag to use on our boat for extra deck storage when transiting to the Bahamas. It exceeded my expectations and worked perfectly. The waterproof material and flap over the zipper kept everything completely dry. The straps made it easy to secure to the rails.

Good roofbag for travel

I drove with the RoofBag (the non-premium version) from NYC to IL without any issues. I used the straps for non-rack cars which goes through the middle of the car and it wasn't a problem. There was some light to moderate rain on the route, but my clothes and gear remained dry - which was my main concern. As long as you pack properly and set it up correctly, you shouldn't have any problems. I checked on the bag and straps every couple of hours during the drive and had no issues. I have no qualms about using this in future for any future moves or even road trips.
