Mock exam was not even close to the real thing. Explanations for questions were poorly developed. There were spelling and grammar errors which would be understandable had i not paid as much as i did for the program. The on demand videos were great and i liked my instructor. No clue on if i passed the exam yet so i cannot give more than 3 stars.

The content covering challenging topics is nearly unintelligible with no connections made between the exam questions and what is presented in the study material. You will rely entirely on YouTube and google to actually learn the concepts. The concepts that are not particularly challenging are unnecessarily verbose, reminiscent of a child trying to meet a minimum word count.

Is great to have the videos, however I found sometimes lost on the explanation. Sometimes concise helps to focus the learning. I think there are some errors in the content. Overall, I can't imagine taking the exam without Kaplan's program.

It is a very robust platform, the instructor led classes are extremely helpful. However, the explanations to the questions in the quizzes, test, and Qbank are generally lacking in detail or flat out incorrect. I have noticed several errors in the calculations.

I wanted to share my recent experience with returning CFA materials to Kaplan Schweser in case it helps others. I purchased the CFA Level I SchweserNotes & QuickSheet package and returned the printed books in brand new, unused condition. Before shipping, I inspected each book carefully. The return was shipped promptly and delivered with tracking confirmation. After delivery, Kaplan informed me that some books were "damaged" and that my refund would be reduced by 50%. When I asked for photos or documentation of the alleged damage, I was told the books had already been discarded and no proof could be provided. Without any evidence of damage, the refund reduction feels unfair, especially since I followed their return process exactly and bore the cost of international return shipping from Canada. I’ve requested Kaplan to reconsider and process the full refund based on the lack of substantiating evidence. I hope this can be resolved directly, but I wanted to make others aware so they can take extra steps (such as photographing all items before shipment) if they return materials.

I purchased the Kaplan Schweser Essay Workshop for CFA Level III over a week in advance. Days before the session, I had no access and no charge appeared. I contacted support via email and phone (I had to pay for international calling since they couldn't reach me). After several confusing interactions, the charge finally went through—then they canceled my access but never reversed the charge. They said I’d get a refund. The workshop came and went — I couldn’t participate, didn’t receive the product, and seven business days later, the money is still gone. Frustrating and deeply disappointing. Not what you expect from a provider of this caliber. Worst part: not even a direct apology or alternative resolution.

Given that we are paying close to a thousand dollars for your prep package, it's incredibly disappointing that even the most basic expectations are not being met. 1. Subtitles for Level III Videos Are Inaccurate Approximately 30% of your Level III videos have subtitles that do not match the spoken content. When I submitted a request to have this corrected, your team only reviewed the specific videos I listed, instead of auditing the rest of the series. This piecemeal approach reflects a lack of professionalism. If I paid $20 to watch a movie, I’d expect accurate subtitles—so why is it acceptable to have such errors in a premium exam prep program? 2. Incorrect "Related Material" References The "Related Material" section in question explanations frequently references the wrong modules. For example, Question ID 1741083 refers to expected volatility content in Module 10.6, but your system incorrectly lists Module 10.1. This kind of inconsistency undermines the credibility of your study materials and wastes valuable study time. 3. Misguided Instructional Approach I want to specifically acknowledge (Prof.?) Randy Nordby—his teaching style is exactly what CFA candidates need. He clearly explains what to focus on, what’s unlikely to be tested, and how to optimize our limited time. Unlike many of your other instructors, he doesn’t overwhelm us with unnecessary information or advise us to read the textbook. We’re not looking for academic enrichment—we're looking to pass the exam efficiently. That's why we chose Kaplan: to reduce workload and focus on the essentials. Unfortunately, many of your instructors seem disconnected from that goal.

It was less of a review and more of a forced practice with not much in terms of explanation. Greg the instructor was reading off of the slides at the speed of light without stopping to address any questions that came in through the chat room. The questions in the chatroom were answered by assistant, but that was in writing and in order to read the answer one had to take attention away from the instructor and be even more lost than before. While practice is an important part of preparation it is only helpful if instructor is adding value by explaining the rationale behind the correct answer choice and spends time breaking down complex calculations, in this case again instructor Greg was reading off the answer sheet, which i could have done myself at my own pace. It is not like teaching such large volume in a short time while adding value is impossible, as I have taken live reviews for Level I and Level II in the past and instructors were fantastic. They took time to break down complex concepts, drew diagrams and tables to aid comprehension and talked through candidate’s questions right there and then, because if one person types up the question it’s guaranteed many others also have the same question and would benefit from clarification. While instructor Greg is an accomplished academic and a smart person he failed to share his knowledge with us candidates, failed to connect with us and failed to add value to our preparation. One of the best parts of Kaplan is having a structured guide to all the lessons and a path to complete them all in a timely matter. The professors teaching the modules in the module videos and masterclasses are extremely well educated on both finance and the CFA curriculum, making them an excellent source of information for the test. I think I’ll pass the level 1 this August with flying colours.
