Misleading. This is not in place of the NYS Certification. Waste of time. Course content was good!
Kept stopping at the 5th quiz and would not go to the next chapter. I have been on hold for an hour to get help and not sure anyone is ever going to answer.
I found the content clear, concise and well presented with one exception on a area I feel is important. When snowmobiling in ditches, the course advocates caution in all circumstances but no practical advice on how to traverse a driveway. All rural, Prov. and Mun. ditches have private driveways intersecting. All driveways have a culvert located at approximately the ditch centre, or between approximately ditch centre to the property line. Would it not be advisable to warn snowmobilers to cross private driveways to the road side of center instead of the property side ? This would not only be safer but reduce/eliminate the angst of property owners caused by snowmobiles encroaching and oftentimes outright trespassing onto the property.
Locking users down with a timer for each page is so unbelievably hostile I can't even put it into words. I managed to pass the course without reading most of the content, only by waiting for the "next page" button to unlock and taking the quizzes once I slogged through them all. I feel as if I should be the one being paid for taking this course.
Class is great for safety and quick about 3hrs of total time to do whole course.
Took way too long and was really redundant information. The timing was off so I couldn't even advance to the next learning after the video would finish. Probably one of the most frustrating trainings I've had. Also, I get all the way to the end and I cannot print the actual certification.
That was terrible. There were bits that required Adobe Flash. That program doesn't exist anymore. There were SEVERAL sections that LITERALLY repeated each other. If you didn't get that the first time, let me say that again. There were SEVERAL sections that LITERALLY repeated each other. You also assume every sled is the same. Like they all have reverse for your "K turn". That was simply, the most poorly constructed informational course I have had to endure because we live in a state that requires it, so they can tax it, and force me to pay for a little card that says that I have been to proper training, like this crap that you put together. Do better. Really. I get it you are raking in the money by putting this dismal slideshow together knowing that us poor clowns have to, by law, participate, but be proud of what you do. For Christ sake, do the job.
No certificate at the end of the program to print out. My 11 year old worked for over 5 hours on this course and at the end it doesn't print certificate???
Hi Jacob, Our New York snowmobile course, as mentioned on the home page, is a Free Study Guide only. Please visit NY State Parks site for more information on certification.
Easy to follow along, good program. My 12 year old went through it by himself and passed with flying colors.
For adult training content is mind numbingly slow. All this training is a revenue generator. Get rid of the cartoons and put out some actual videos. Duplicate upon duplicate slides and info, some info was repeated in three consecutive slides. Make this more real world.
All you need to know! The course is comprehensive and has a lot of great info that allows you to complete the course in your own free time. It hits the basics and there is nothing else left to do but get out and start riding!
This is an easy and great way to make sure you are up on all your safety and knowledge of snowmobling.
This was a great course for my kids to take. The content was easy to understand and informative. There were a few question on the final exam that were a bit wordy for my 12 year old to understand, but was able to grasp the concept of what was being asked through the responses given. This was a great help for my 12 and 14 yr olds to become better operators.
It was very well put together, I had good knowledge going into taking the course with a few things needing freshen up on. But if a person lacks the knowledge, the course provides the info needed to get you on to the right track
Course was easy to follow and exam was easy if you watch the videos and read the content . The only issue I have is I'm a fast reader and the timer before going into next page was irritating .
to leave a review I had to give one star. they don't deserve that. addvertise that their phones are avaible until 12 pm sat on hold trying to get someone for half an hour. their recording kept saying ten minutes. it makes you read a (example) 45 second to 85 second blurb, then wont let you move to the next page for the duration of 3 full minutes. makes the course longer to justify their money. the course could be completed in 2 hrs but you get to enjoy their creativity and silence for 6.5 hrs. ABSOLUTE JOKE!!
Thought this was a good course, sat through hrs of video to only be told... hey thanks for the “practice course” now go take a real in person course. Bad business
I think it will help
It informed me all I needed to know but It repeated somethings sometimes, but otherwise it was great!
