The food they produce is okay

The food they produce is okay. The issue is the service they used for delivery called On trac. I miss a delivery about one out of every orders. Even though I have complained multiple times, they insist on using the same service even though they could use FedEx. I am stuck with this service and finally started insisting on them reimbursing me the cost on each order missed. Maybe this will get their attention. On track has a customer rating of 1.4.

Quality Food, Quality Life

Wonderful customer service and product quality! My senior pup had a health scare that led to her refusing to eat the food she’d happily eaten since she was adopted as a puppy, and like a lot of pet parents I was worried sick for her. I tried mixing in Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken broth- everything I could safely try into her regular kibble and she barely wanted to touch it. I switched to Farmer’s Dog as a last Hail Mary, and it blew my expectations out of the water. She hardly came up for air when I put the bowl down! My 12 year old girl is acting more like her young self than she has in years, her weight is getting under control, and it’s like she has some new life again. As a former vet tech I don’t want to give the impression that food alone will magically cure every ailment or turn back time, but (just like us): a healthy diet goes a long way in improving quality of life. I was feeding my dog a good quality kibble, but the difference it’s made switching to the Farmer’s Dog was so much more dramatic (in all the best ways) than I could have ever hoped for.

Extraordinary customer service

I have been feeding my dogs farmers dog for several years now. My male bulldog passed away last year and the company was so kind , they even sent me a plant in his honor. Unfortunately, my female bulldog is now senior and has developed severe kidney disease and can no longer eat food with high protein. Farmers dog was so gracious to help me with the order that had just been shipped and canceling my subscription. My dogs loved this food and I could see a difference in their energy level and their excitement to eat. I cannot recommend this brand enough.

This is a strange review to write…

This is a strange review to write because it’s not about the service I received while my dog was eating Farmers Dog (although she loved it and they were wonderful), but about my experience with them after my dog passed away - they treated me with such compassion, immediately issuing a refund for my order that had already shipped and making sure I wouldn’t receive the box and have to deal with my grief over losing her all over again. Thank you for helping me take care of my dog and for treating her death with so much kindness - I am very grateful.

Couldn’t be more thankful for Farmers Dog

My experience with the Farmer’s Dog was short, but one I am incredibly grateful for. Our 10 year old French Mastiff had a mass growing in his heart and we were told he didn’t have many months left. He stopped eating completely and we desperately switched to Farmer’s Dog to give him a healthy option that would be easy on his stomach. He immediately started eating again. After a couple of months, we were told we needed to make the call before he was in too much pain- and we did so. In the chaos of everything, I forgot to cancel his subscription. I reached out to customer service & not only did they refund us, but also mailed us a plant and a hand written card for our loss. Not a typed one, a handwritten one. They didn’t have to do that, but they did out of respect of a family grieving a loss. We can’t thank them enough for their kindness.

Edited and Updated: My Cavapoo has been on Farmer's Dog for almost 2 years and her Bladder Stones were NOT directly related to this food. I spent $6K for emergency surgery on 7/24/26. The vet said that she has to be on Purina UTI or a similar brand UTI food for the rest of her life. Is that true if the stones were Struvite which is the most common stones? Can she still be on Farmer's Dog? Thank you in advance for your response.

We have 2 Yorkies

We have 2 Yorkies, one is 8 years old and the other is 2. The older dog has lost almost all of her teeth. We were feeding her another brand and it is quite expensive, but very bland and didn’t have the nutrients my dogs really needed. When we got the new puppy we decided we were going to research and get a high quality food for our dogs. Farmer’s Dog has changed my older dog’s life. She is happier, playful and full of life. The younger dog is thriving and so healthy. I wish I had known about Farmers Dog sooner for my older girl. We are committed to give them the best life we can and we believe we are doing that with Farmers Dog. So grateful and appreciative for FD.

If I could leave a negative review I would. My dog became very sick. As the doses increased her symptoms became significantly worse. So much so that she was vomiting and having uncontrollable diarrhea. She never received more that 75% of the small packs with her dry food. The moment I stopped feeding her the Farmers Dog Food the symptoms stopped.

As a long time customer

As a long time customer, we have always praised the helpfulness from their team. However, I recently experience trying to make arrangements having food delivered to our hotel destination was impossible. Our flying time is over 8 hours making it difficult to take at take our gig food with us. The Farmers Dog refused to help us insure delivery date on our arrival. Seems they have grown to a call center reading off scripts and that personal touch of helping has been lost. Such a shame

I will never feed my pets anything but…

I will never feed my pets anything but The Farmers Dog! I have been a pet owner all of my life and have never seen anything change my pets’ lives as has your food. We have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, one 3, one almost 14, two golden retrievers who are 4 and a slightly older labradoodle all of which actually dance on their hind legs in circles when they see your foot. At 5 exactly they sit and stare at us in anticipation. There has never been a dog treat they craved as they do your food. Your product, customer service. and caring are unsurpassable. It is very clear to us that you have and are extending the lives of these beloved family members. My happy happy pups and we are indebted to you for the amazing gift of health to our pups and for your prompt responses to any inquiries, even adjusting delivery schedules if we will be out of town. The dogs are all at perfect breed weights and even our 14 year old looks amazing and obviously feels so good. Our vet is so pleased as are we. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do for our family.

I can’t say enough good things about The Farmer’s Dog and their customer service. I recently reached out after an unfortunate situation that was completely outside of their control, and I was honestly blown away by the kindness, understanding, and level of care I received. They went above and beyond to help me and made me feel genuinely valued as a customer. It’s rare to receive this level of customer service anymore, and the experience made me even happier to continue being a loyal customer. On top of the amazing customer service, my dog absolutely loves the food! It gives me so much peace of mind knowing he’s getting proper nutrition and high-quality food that he genuinely gets excited to eat. We already loved The Farmer’s Dog, but knowing there’s such an amazing team behind the company makes me recommend them even more. Truly exceptional food and customer service!

Great customer service

Great customer service. The only draw back I could see was the pricing! It’s a bit pricey. My dog seemed to like it. Thought I could afford it, but it ended up up being almost the price of a low priced car payment. lol

We have been using farmers dog going on…

We have been using farmers dog going on 3 years . We have had a great experience and Nova loves her food . I get notices of when it was charged , when they will deliver, and when it’s delivered so if i am out of town i can have a friend to pick it up and put in freezer.. very efficient!

Causes severe pancreatitis…

This food gave two of my dogs pancreatitis. One has recovered and the other has not. I have tried everything to revive her health over the last month. She is getting an ultrasound today to find the extent of the damage, but as of now she will not eat and she’s in a lot of pain. So I basically spent $500 a month to slowly poison my dogs to death. They lie about the health of their food. This garbage has more than 44% fat in it. I am contemplating suing them. I am very, very angry and heartbroken that I may have to put my dog to sleep. Do not risk the health of your animals. If you want healthy then cook for them. There is a special place in hell for people who run a company like this.

The best CS and User experience

FD customer service is always quick to help me figure out my multiple pets. I love their chat option because it’s fast and efficient. I realized I was out of food for one dog that was accidentally deleted and Evan was able to quickly resolve the issue and get me food ordered ASAP.

REST BETTER AND HEALTHY POOS. WE ALSO APPRECIATE THE CONVENIENCE OF KNOWING THE FOOD IS FRESH, HEALTHY AND ALWAYS ARRIVES EACH MONTH AS SHEDULED. Genuinely amazing company and customer service!

I’ve used The Farmer’s Dog on and off for about four years. My boy gets bored of his food quickly so I do need to switch it up, but he has always absolutely loved the taste of their meals. He gets so excited for dinnertime, and he is a huge fan of their jerky sticks too! We unfortunately have to part ways now because he was just put on a strict prescription diet and can't have certain ingredients anymore, like sweet potato. I messaged them right as a new shipment was heading out to explain what happened. Even though it was already too late to stop the package from shipping, they were so understanding and told me I could just donate the fresh food to a local shelter or rescue so it wouldn't go to waste. Their customer service is unmatched. Anytime I’ve ever had a question or a minor issue, they reply within 30 to 45 minutes. You're talking to a real, caring person every single time. It never feels like you're dealing with a robot or emailing a black hole. I know some competitors try to talk down about them online, and I’ve seen the posts, but this is a genuinely good company that stands behind their service. They truly care about you and your pet and make the effort to connect with you. The food can be pricey, but pets love it and you know they’re getting quality food. Since we have a smaller dog, we're able to make it last a lot longer, and it saves so much time compared to cooking fresh meals yourself. You know you are giving your dog the best! I’m really sad to leave them, and I highly recommend them!
