Upwork is great place to find high paying clients. Don't like the fee deductions though. But overall, I would high recommend to all freelancers.
A great platform that creates opportunities for freelancer to earn and develop skills while doing different job tasks.
Upwork is best in class service connecting global freelancers and businesses. This service is trustful and reliable offering numerous opportunities.
I’ve had a great experience using Upwork. The platform makes it easy to connect with clients, manage projects, communicate, and handle payments securely. The overall user experience is professional and convenient. I’ve been able to find good opportunities and successfully complete projects through Upwork.
Reliable and safe platform for feelancing and for meeting prospective clients. Great experience overall. No issues whatsoever.
Upwork now takes 15% off from my earnings and bonus as service fee. I hope they will go back to 10%. Besides, I hope they won’t take 15% of the bonus given by the clients to me. I think my clients don’t expect this as well.
Great platform that have helped a lot of us become employed and financially empowered.
It was great cause Upwork makes sure, we can legit clients and we are paid.
The amount of connect for each job is too high, everything you do on upwork now requires connect. You will send a dozen of proposals, you will not get any response.
After being a client for more than 5 years and trusting upwork I am now disappointed. Our business has filed a support ticket # 55312439 and it's an urgent matter related to a freelancer we hired in upwork who has been harassing us and abusing us and our business across different platforms. Upwork has not responded and it's been days (far from their promise of 2 days response). This freelancer has now released sensitive and confidential material including faces and voice and videos of our business and personnel. If nothing else is done we will be taking legal action as well.
Upwork seems to prioritize protecting clients over freelancers, often issuing reimbursements without fully reviewing the facts or obtaining the freelancer’s consent. As freelancers, we invest in connects (bids), pay taxes, and give Upwork a percentage of every payment—yet when disputes arise, it can feel like our side is not given the same level of consideration. A fair marketplace should protect both clients and freelancers through a transparent and evidence-based review process.
Upwork has been a great platform for my freelance journey. It’s easy to use, payments are secure, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing clients from around the world. Overall, a reliable platform for freelancers.
Upwork is a great freelancing platform
In the past year, I have encountered two job postings that appeared to involve illegitimate activities, such as transferring money or collecting email addresses without users' consent. Opportunities like these should not be allowed on Upwork, and the platform should do more to detect and remove them. From the client side, I also believe there should be greater accountability when a freelancer's responsibilities increase. If a freelancer is promoted or takes on significantly more work, clients should adjust their compensation accordingly. Upwork should encourage fair pay practices to help prevent exploitation. Many clients offer salaries that are far below market rates, seemingly assuming freelancers have a much lower cost of living, or live in a forest. In reality, I've seen cases where a freelancer hired as a manager is paid far less than the typical manager's salary in the freelancer's own country. While the flexibility of freelance work is a major advantage, underpaying skilled professionals reflects a primitive mindset and fails to recognize the value they bring.
