Government oversight is needed to protect consumers!
Fraud! Blatantly violated their own contract by failing to provide 30-days written notice prior to elevating monthly storage rent. I went from paying a $68 monthly rent to suddenly being charged $147 (116% increase). When I submitted an inquiry, I got no response. When I mailed a certified letter to their corporate office, I again received no response. As storage companies are not regulated by the State… they raise rents at random, fail to maintain safe & sanitary units, and violate their own rental agreements/contracts with absolutely no consequence. I am normally not a proponent of “big government,” however in cases such as these (lack of consumer protections), government oversight is desperately needed and legislation warranted.
I showed up to my appointment and yall were “closed” Saturday Aug 1st. I called the day before to confirm the appointment as well. Had to scramble to find a new storage spot (which ended up being cheaper anyways), had to cancel my movers, and had to negotiate with UHaul to keep my truck longer.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
Terrible they wouldn't allow my service for some apparent reason!!!!!!!!!!! I was denied after having paid them and everything. Never ever have I ever had this happen to me, ANYWHERE!!!!!!!
I must say, Rob and Nicole were absolutely the best! Great customer service with a smile on their face at all time. I could tell they really enjoyed what they do. I had a tour of the space and Rob gave a great tour of the storage how to get in, what I needed to know for entering and leaving. They were both very good in their knowledge and AWESOME in customer service. The facility was nice and clean. If you want Grade A Storage this is the place to go...

Process was easy to sign up online. In person, staff was very helpful and walked me through every step. Facilities were very clean. I would recommend this facility to anyone needing storage.

Find somewhere else to store your goods
I was the very first customer at the Hawthorne facility decades ago. I was there until a month ago. Everything that was good had turned bad. By the way, their site adverises 562 5 star reviews, but you should read some of them. You won't see mine, I'm betting. It started with the every-three-months rent increases. If I'd stayed, I would be paying close to $7,000 a year for a 10x15 space with no electricity at a storage site where the front gate hasn't been reliably closed in over a year. The tenant over me decided to store two large bags of ice melt which liquified and dripped into my space causing hundreds of dollars of damage. Another tenant (same one?)) complained that the generator I used to keep batteries charged was leaving "smoke" in the climate controled area. That wasn't true, but I bought outdoor cable covers and moved the generator 30 feet away against the fence. A year later I get a call telling me that "corporate" didn't want anything "electrical" going on and that I couldn't use the generator. Note that I used a Furman industrial power surge protector (for trickle chargers...).Funny thing: at least two other renters used their generators at the same site. I needed to get tree sap off my wife's car and all my cleaning equipment was at Hawthorne. Site manager sees me and says "This isn't a car wash". He also related that another tenant had complained that I had washed a motorcycle there. Horrors! US Storage is at least the fourth owner and operator of this site, and they successfully drove me out. NIce work.
Glory is amazing!! She was extremely helpful when it came yo answering all of my questions and went out of her way to make sure my unit was super clean for immediate move in. They have great prices clean units and the customer service is definitely one of a kind!!

Place is filthy and I was covered in dirt and dust, the elevators are old and broken and halfway through loading the lift broke and we were delayed significantly in moving our stuff in. The place acknowledged that it was there fault and told me that I could stay after hours and pay the late leaving fee if I wanted even though I was delayed because of their broken lifts
