1 Star – Extremely disappointed. Book elsewhere if your vehicle requirements are important. I specifically booked a 7-seat vehicle through VIP Cars because there are 7 people travelling in my family. My booking confirmation clearly stated that the vehicle had 7 seats. I received an email from the supplier stating that they could not guarantee a 7-seat vehicle and that I might instead receive a standard 5-seat car. As you can imagine, a 5-seat vehicle is completely unsuitable for a family of seven. I contacted VIP Cars asking for their assistance in securing the 7-seat vehicle I had booked, or an equivalent 7-seat vehicle if the supplier could not honour the reservation. They initially replied saying they would look into the matter. Instead, without my knowledge, consent or any explanation, they simply cancelled my reservation. I never asked for my booking to be cancelled. I asked for help. To make matters worse, this has happened just two weeks before our family holiday. As anyone who has hired a car knows, prices increase dramatically close to the travel date. Equivalent 7-seat vehicles are now around double the price, which I simply cannot afford. This has turned what should have been an exciting family holiday into an incredibly stressful experience. We now face the possibility of arriving at our destination without suitable transport for our family because we cannot afford the inflated prices caused by this late cancellation. What has disappointed me most is the lack of communication. After cancelling my booking without my permission, my emails have gone unanswered. If you book through VIP Cars, be aware that if there is a problem with your reservation, the outcome may not be the assistance you expect. In my experience, my booking was cancelled without my agreement, leaving me to deal with the consequences only weeks before travelling. I sincerely hope VIP Cars reviews this matter, explains why my booking was cancelled without my consent, and helps resolve the situation before our holiday.
