Because proxies route traffic through intermediary servers, they inherently introduce more latency than standard direct connections or gaming-optimized VPNs. For this reason, proxies are generally not recommended for real-time tasks or gaming. That being said, a 500ms ping spike can sometimes be improved by adjusting your proxy type or location settings.
