It felt like everything was rushed, like we couldn’t stay in one place for more than a few minutes (especially in London). The guide, Roger, was an absolute delight and made the experience as worth while as he could; especially given the constraints placed on him. However it was all around a mediocre experience and I would not recommend world strides as a travel agency.

I was able to experience things I could never on my own or just with my family. WorldStrides filled our days with fun tours of museums, and memorials. Also, as a souvenir, we had a professional photographer take pictures of our group in front of an important memorial. WorldStrides also provided us with a highly educational guide, and she was helpful and fun to be around. I am truly grateful for what I have experienced with WorldStrides.

My trip to Greece exceeded my expectations. Our hotels, bus and cruise were extremely clean and cool—important when walking in 95 degrees. I recommend upgrading to VIP for the cruise. The air conditioning, service and food were wonderful!
The landscapes and ancient structures really do look like the pictures, but what photos can’t capture is the feeling of standing among them. Seeing—and even touching—marble and stone structures that date back to the Bronze Age was almost surreal. It’s incredible to think that today it can take as long to build a highway or bridge as it took the ancient Greeks to build the Parthenon over 2,400 years ago.
Greece has a remarkable history. I would not have appreciated the resilience of the Greeks without Explorica.
A huge thank you to Explorica for putting together an outstanding experience. Our main guide, Kamilo, along with Natasha, Bianca, our wonderful Canadian travel companions, and our three exceptional local site guides didn’t just show us Greece—they helped us understand it by weaving together history, archaeology, mythology, and faith into unforgettable stories.
We don’t know what we don’t know. This trip planted a seed, and now I’m already looking forward to planning my next adventure.

I loved the countries that we visited but was disappointed that the food and wine portion of this tour did not meet expectations.
I loved traveling to Venice, Croatia and Greece for the first time but this was advertised as a food and wine tour in these locations and that portion fell short. Only one of the planned group dinners and wine met my expectation. Definitely need to continue the partnership w/ restaurant Marco Polo in Dubrovnik, because their attention to detail and quality of meal was amazing. There were also discrepancies in the quality of the accommodations for some of the couples on the cruise because they were not identified correctly by WorldStrides (based on what we were told at reception) so they had to sleep on 2 single beds instead of the full/queen, that others had. This was communicated but not acknowledged/ addressed for 2 nights. Mine was fine. As for our guide, he seemed as if he was preparing our itinerary last minute and was impatient/ short when we asked questions. I have been on two Explorica/ WorldStrides trips before and understand that locations selected for lodging help to keep students secure and contained in areas that would be less tempting for them to get into trouble but this was an adult only trip, I would have preferred to be lodged closer to the cities that we were visiting because it would have allowed us the opportunity to explore during our free time. I loved traveling to these 3 countries. I wish that we had been able to enjoy a consistent quality of meals, since this was part of what we paid for on this trip.

The tour director was excellent- so knowledgeable and approachable. The excursions and tours were all very good; local guides were phenomenal. I appreciated that the food was authentic.
The only negative aspect was the bus travel to Charlotte. We were supposed to fly out of our local airport (TRI) but the accommodation changed. This should have been in the itinerary from the beginning.
The hotels and cruise were very nice. No complaints at all.

We had a good trip. Our host was great. The only negative experience was some of the food choices that did suit kids this age. So we had to buy other food to feed a few of the students.

The meals had no choice. I was having to go out and find dinner after the dinner that was included with my $4500. Half the time the food was cold, other times it was just not something I would have chosen had I been able to choose. Definitely not what I expected and not something I would pay that much for again knowing I get no say in what im served.

Recently completed the New Zealand and Australia trip. The tour guide in New Zealand was pretty good. I wish we had another day in New Zealand. The tour guide in Sydney was not ideal. She was very brash, rude, and yelled a lot at adults and students. Not someone I would enjoy having as a tour guide again. She also tossed out the entire itinerary and we missed out on quite a bit. The tour guide in Cairns was very good. She was kind and knowledgeable. Would've been nice to have had her for the entire Australia portion of the tour.

My son had a great time. The schedule was packed and he would’ve liked to have more time to explore when at Times Square, but overall had high praise. His favorite activity was the broadway show.

The tour guide was absolutely wonderful! She knew so much and was such a pleasure to spend time with. The itinerary was unrealistic and should have been scaled back to allow for much more time at fewer locations. More communication from the teachers in advance of what each day would entail was needed to assure rain gear was not stowed in the luggage when it was needed.

We had a great tour guide, Silke, who was immediately adored by the entire group. She kept us moving and we got to see a lot of stuff. Without the encouragement of her and our group leaders, some of the group would have given up! We loved the location of the hotels, but a couple did not have air conditioning or had bad air conditioning, which is a problem for us Americans. We are spoiled, but I did lose a lot of weight from the heat and exercise, which I am grateful for. The group meals were mostly fantastic.

Highlight (our tour guide) and areas for improvement
Melanie, our tour guide, made this event worth it. She’s absolutely fantastic, positive attitude, problem solver, knowledgeable, had pictures and maps, could easily understand her. Just great. Programming was okay - touring key places or things in the area, having free time to explore places of interest.
What’s not so great - the food and hotels. Small portions, same thing (sausage and mushrooms over and over), jammed in a tight area. Need to find other hotels in Rothenburg and Innsbruck.

Roger was the absolute best guide anyone could ask for. He met up at the airport and stayed with us for 2 weeks until he put us onto the plane to return home. He solved all the little problems!
Our guide, Roger, was the best! He took wonderful care of us, had a great sense of humor and kept providing us with the best possible tour. Our leaders had chosen wonderful, diverse experiences. Such beautiful scenery and warm, kind people! Would love to go back to the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland and stay twice as long!
