Has been nothing but a nightmare…
Has been nothing but a nightmare dealing with the company. We tried to contact the seller about an item on authentication. And no response few days later we get an email saying we owe money for the shipping in the US. The company and seller said there no extra charges but ups says different. The company told us to refuse the package and now they both are fighting me a refund. The customer service and the seller has been the work to deal with.

A devastating experience
This was the most devastating, terrible experience I have ever had purchasing from an online platform.
I am part of a network of interior designers and architects in Milan, Italy, and I purchased a brass bed through 1stDibs from a seller in Palermo. The item arrived with significant, safety-relevant damage that was not visible in the listing photos.
When I reported this, 1stDibs did not base its decision on the listing presented to me as a buyer, but on separate images later supplied by the seller. My claim was declined, and I was instructed to return the item entirely at my own expense.
The seller then refused delivery of the return after shipment, resulting in additional storage costs and prolonged delay. Resolution took over a month.
The item was returned unused and in its original packaging. Despite this, further damage was alleged by the seller. I was not provided with clear supporting documentation, yet the claim was accepted.
The outcome was a substantial financial loss.
This experience raises serious concerns regarding buyer protection, evidentiary standards, and accountability on 1stDibs. I am proceeding with formal legal action.

Was in the process of purchasing two…
Was in the process of purchasing two paintings, one from 1st dibs,located in Belgium and a second one from a gallery in the Netherlands, I purchased the first painting for my vet hospital from a buyer at 1st dibs Unfortunately, too late to heed the warning that the owner of the gallery in Netherlands sent me regarding the painting likely being tied up in customs. Yes my 1st dibs painting was not delivered until I provided a w-2 and my social security card to customs I still have not recieved it . My ONLY complaint is why was there no prior warning of this at purchase point the owner of Netherlands gallery was very honest and forthright. I feel this was sneaky

1)Slow follow up with AML email, resulting in a missed communication and a delayed response.
2)Upon delay, my bank approved the aml by 1st dibs neither cancelled nor drew down the amt, leading to a deadlock.
3)Customer rep call line forever unavailable, each email response took 2-3 days, and support was unable to find and fix the issue, ending in a full cancellation, 3 week delay and a repricing for added fuel costs.

Inaccurate listings and inflated prices
NO VERIFICATION about what they are listing. Random sellers are allowed to put up anything on the website, even if they don't own it! Completely fraudulent and inaccurate listings - would never use this site. Better to try to reach the sellers directly to verify if they even own the product and what the right price is.

Offered about $400 less than the asking price. However, when I pressed enter, this seemed to flip to the original price. The confirmation page seems deliberately ambiguous so I could not be sure what I was being charged. I never received a confirmation email from the seller., I only see that the money, the full price, not what I wanted to offer, has gone from my account. I will never use 1st Dibs again, a truly awful experience.

A painting I am selling on Ebay suddenly appeared on this Website (1stdibs.com)
My Pictures are being used to sell something that is mine.
1stdibs is not checking if the sellers even have the painting they claim to sell. They claim to have only reputable sellers but this shows they don´t do quality control with their sellers.
