Service for parts dept is TERRIBLE!!

Service for parts dept is TERRIBLE!!! In two weeks, I left 4 messages and never got a call back. Third time I asked for the manager and was able to speak to Jodi, who on the surface seemed helpful. He took the specifics of what I needed and told me he would walk it back to the girls in the OEM dept. It's been 10 days since that call and NOTHING! I bought the RV privately, but it was originally purchased at CW, that is why I went there first. After that failure, I called a local repair shop and they were able to get the part and it will be installed shortly. I Will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CAMPING WORLD AGAIN!!!

Shopping here was our biggest mistake...Continuing with the purchase was the second

My experience with Camping World has been extremely disappointing. I felt that my concerns were not properly heard or addressed, and I was overcharged despite trying repeatedly to resolve the issue directly. Over a two-week period, I made seven calls that went unanswered, and my messages were not returned. One of my main concerns is that an extended warranty was added to the financing through my credit union even though we did not ask for it. We had a signed document confirming that these items were to be removed before I received the RV, yet the charge still appeared as part of the transaction. When I tried to contact the finance representative to have it corrected, my calls were not returned. I also felt the walk-through charge was excessive for what was provided. In my opinion, charging anywhere near $1,500 to $3,000 for a walk-through is unreasonable when the explanation is minimal and does not provide the level of education or support a buyer would expect for that amount of money. Overall, I felt like charges were continually added to the bill, creating the impression that the goal was to maximize profit rather than provide transparent customer service. When I questioned the charges, I was left feeling as though my concerns were dismissed and that I was being told they “had to make money somehow,” rather than being given a fair and accountable explanation. It was only after I submitted a complaint to corporate that I finally received a response. Unfortunately, the response did not offer a meaningful resolution and left me feeling dismissed rather than supported as a customer. Instead of taking responsibility or helping me work through the problem, I was essentially told there was nothing they could do and that I should contact someone else. I expected better communication, transparency, accountability, and customer service, especially given the time, money, and financing involved. Based on this experience, I would caution others to review every document carefully, confirm that any unwanted products or services have actually been removed, question every added fee, and document all communications in writing.

SERVICE AT THE HOLIDAY SITE WAS…

SERVICE AT THE HOLIDAY SITE WAS DECEIVING, TO THE POINT IF SCAMING CUSTOMERS FOR THEUR SUPPOSE PROTOCOLFIR CEETAIN AREAS , LIKE THE GENERATIR. THEY DO THINGS WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER PERMISION, SINCE I WENT THERE FOR WARRANTY 8SSUES AND OIL CHANGE FOR THE RV AND THE GENERATOR AND TO JUSTIFY THE DIAGNOSIS FIR THE GENERATOR, THEY CLAIM ONE OF THE BLACK CABLES TGAT SHOUKD IT BE ON THE POSITIVE POLES, CAUSE THE 8SSU FOR GENERATOR NOT STARTING, WHEN THEY KNEW THAT THE NEED IF AN OIL CHANGE CAN XAUSED THE NON STARTING OF IT, BUT THEY DID IT PRIOR TO. INCREDIBLE! CALLED CORPORATE TO FIRCE THEIR MANAGER TO REMOVED THE DIAGNOSIS CHARGE, BUT ALL THEY DID WAS TO LOWER IT ANOTHER $100, INSTEAD OF FORCING HWR TO WAIVER THAT TOTAL, SINCE THEY DID NOT HAVE MY PEEMISSION, EXCEPT FOR THE OIL CHSNGE AND CAMPER OIL CHANGE, SND NOTHING ELSE, EXCEPT THE STEP. LORA IN CORPORATE SHOULD IT MAKE HER WAIVER THAT DIAGNOSTIC FEE, BUT DID NOT.. AS A VETERAN AND A SENIIR, I DO NOT LIKE TO BE SCAM BY A CAMPER SHOP. IT IS WORST THAN GOING TO A CAR DEALER SEEVICE, BUT OVER THERE THEY ARE MORE HONEST AND TREAT VETERANS BETTER. I DO NOT APPRECIATE WHEN PEOPLE TAKE FOR GRANTED OUR SERVICE AND JUST SAYING THANKS, WHEN 5HAT DOES NOT PAY MY BILLS, BUT YET I DEFENDID THEIR LIBERTY TO SCAM AMERICANS AT WILL, BESIDES DISRESPECTING ME THERE. NO MORE! I WILL PASS IT AROUND ON ALL THE WEBSITES POSSIBLE. IF I CAN FIND A KAWYER, I WILL DO THAT TOO.

Very disappointed with the service

Very disappointed with the service. I have taken my RV in 4 different times for the same air conditioner problem, and every time they tell me it is fixed and ready. Unfortunately, the issue keeps coming back, and I end up wasting more time bringing it back again. What is most frustrating is that I pay for a warranty, yet nobody seems willing to replace the unit or provide a real solution. Instead of enjoying and relaxing during our camping trips, we have had to spend weekends uncomfortable without proper AC. I understand repairs can take time, but after multiple failed attempts, I expected much better customer service and support. I hope they improve the way they handle warranty repairs and recurring issues.

Forget Camping World® Service — Call Don Nichols Instead

We are extremely disappointed with our experience at Camping World after purchasing a brand new 45-foot fifth wheel. On the day of pickup, we immediately identified several warranty issues and were assured we could begin the warranty process there and complete the work in the state we were moving to. We made it very clear we were leaving on a tight timeline and relied on the information we were given. After arriving in our new state, we discovered that Camping World had already submitted the warranty claim to Forest River and received payment for work they reported as completed — work that was never actually done. Because of this, the new service location forced us to start the entire process over from scratch, which was incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. To make matters worse, the repair approach we are now being offered is completely different and far below expectations. Instead of replacing damaged parts, they want to simply add screws and silicone and call it fixed. That is not the level of service anyone should expect when purchasing a brand new unit. Our most recent experience really summed everything up. A service tech came out, started a conversation, took a couple photos, and then literally walked back into the building and left us standing in the parking lot. We waited over 30 minutes and he never came back out. Now it’s been several days and we still haven’t received a single call. Talk about being left stranded. Communication with staff has been extremely difficult overall. We often feel rushed, interrupted, and not allowed to fully explain the situation, which has made an already stressful process even worse. This entire experience has felt inconsistent, unreliable, and unprofessional. For such a major purchase, we expected much better service and accountability. Rather than continuing to jump through hoops with this big-name company, we ended up working with Don Nichols, The RV Mobile Doc, a nationally certified RV technician and inspector who has been incredibly efficient, helpful, and straightforward. He was very familiar with situations like this and went the extra mile to clearly explain what actually needs to be done without making us jump through fiery hoops. When in doubt, call Don — we wish we had done that from the start.

ZERO SENSE OF URGENCY AND NO FOLLOW THROUGH ON ANYTHING!

Well, we are obviously NOT alone with our NEGATIVE FEEDBACK regarding Camping World (Hamburg, NY) Re: Motorhome sale. Where to begin. We purchased a new to us 2018 Tiffin motorhome on April 8, 2026. We had a signed agreement on the same day with a few items of "must be done" prior to taking ownership. We live one hour away and expected they would handle the list in a timely fashion and complete it. Our pick up date was set for April 15, 2026. Deadlines to go pick up our RV came and went... excuse after excuse..... There were never any follow up calls nor text with regard to any of the delays as they were supposed to be working on the list of to dos. The only time there ever was any kind of follow up on any outstanding item(s) was when I, as the customer, continually pushed them to finish the list; so we could schedule a new pick up of our Coach! By the time we went to pick up the RV, (April 27th) they had done next to nothing except put on the new tires we requested. One of the stipulations to “Our Deal” required FOUR NEW back tires be purchased and installed. During a conversation, a few days prior to pick up, they mentioned, "The TWO NEW TIRES are on!" Our deal included FOUR, not TWO! We corrected them and they did get four. Honest mistake? Maybe, maybe not! Another stipulation from “Our deal” was to replace the Foggy Headlights. They said, “They’re very costly”. My husband actually found replacement headlights on Ebay and even sent them the link that cost them far less money than they were saying they would cost. They did buy them, but we are pretty sure they let an 8 year old install them. What a mess!! The clear glue-like type sealer around the edges was done so poorly, it was an eyesore! I guess they don't take pride in their vehicles; like we do. In addition to these ‘fails’ they hadn't even cleaned the carpets nor washed the exterior; nor even flushed out the sewer system, completely!!! The odor was absolutely horrendous when my husband was doing the walk through to check all systems… In a month’s time, they hadn't thought to at least fully flush out the sewer tank! There was a lot of ‘hurry up and wait’ hanging around their shop….. I was minutes away from walking away from this entire purchase.. Thinking to myself… six figures and THIS IS THE CONDITION they want to hand it over to us? I was willing to take my chances and still look for another deal elsewhere! Knowing, I was ready to just walk away, they promised to finish our list and "deliver" the motor coach to us at our home. I believe it took another 5 business days to get the majority of the "To do" list, done! On May 1st, Bernardo, an independent transport driver delivered it to us. He was the absolute BEST! We couldn't have asked for a better person and he had communication skills Camping World could take lessons from. The night before delivery, he reached out to me to set up a time. I let him know in no uncertain terms; I was NOT taking delivery; and that coach could not leave Hamburg until I first saw photographs from Sean at Camping World proving the list has been completed. There were still things undone, but I decided to pick my battles. Now we are down to just two major items still left unsettled! The exterior ladder and a second set of keys. The exterior ladder was damaged and hanging off the coach on the day of purchase. It’s now May 11 and it’s still hanging and we have heard NOTHING. (During their event a month earlier, someone, obviously moving vehicles around during an event hit it knocking it off the back wall.. We are STILL WAITING for an update as to when our ladder will be shipped to Churchville, (much closer to home) so we can have it installed there. Last Monday, I called, and texted a few times throughout the week for updates on the ladder and the spare keys... In late April, I was told they would get a locksmith to come to our home. We have yet to hear one word about when that will happen. We could hire one ourselves and send them a bill; but again - it's rare to get a human being to work with you and would not trust ever getting refunded. When there is any communication it comes with a laundry list of excuses as to why things are still outstanding. "Out sick", "day off," "ordered items didn't come in" Considering our motor coach cost us over six figures, one would think we would have been treated better. I guess not. I have been waiting to give feedback, just in case they came through, but again --- NO ONE there has any sense of urgency to fulfill promises. I would NEVER, EVER buy from them again. I would buy directly from a private owner next time.

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I do not recommend purchasing a RV or any repair services from Camping World Thornburg VA. From what I see on other reviews, I would pass this company all together. I also suggest tape recording your entire sales and finance interactions as back up proof to conversations. This company needs a class action lawsuit. It is painful wrong how they lie and decit consumers out of their hard working money. Ill be filing with the states attorney General, as well as other entities. They need full exposure and held to accountability. They are a danger to the public. DO NOT BUY HERE.

FROM WATER DAMAGE TO HIGHWAY DISASTER: Negligence & Extortion

We brought our 2016 Panther 16RB to CW in Melbourne Florida specifically to resolve critical water intrusion (soft spots) floor replacement and perform a "road-ready" inspection. After paying $6,000, we left with a trailer that was structurally unsound, mechanically dangerous, and more prone to flooding than when we arrived. THE CORE FAILURES: Failed Water Repairs: Despite being brought in for water intrusion, technicians left our shower drain completely disconnected and sliced into our toilet water line. The first time we used the water, it flooded the interior. The floor "repairs" were done with cheap particle board and are already sinking. Catastrophic Axle Failure: We paid for a "road-ready" inspection and axle service. On our first trip, the axle seized on a highway in Mississippi. Local mechanics confirmed the bearings had zero grease. We were stranded and forced to pay $750 for a specialized flatbed tow. Property Destruction: They hit our brand-new electric tongue jack with a forklift, chipped our sink, and left drill holes and torn faux leather throughout the interior. UNETHICAL MANAGEMENT: General Manager Will Duquette avoided our emails for a month. When he finally responded, he attempted to extort a "General Release" (NDA) from us. He refused to reimburse our $750 towing fee—a direct result of his shop's negligence—unless we signed a document agreeing to stay silent about this experience. THE BOTTOM LINE: This shop is a danger to the RV community. They charge premium prices for incompetent work that endangers lives, then use legal "release forms" to silence customers when they fail. STAY AWAY. Your safety is not worth their negligence.

6 Weeks- Bad Communication & Promises

6 Weeks of Bad Communication and Broken Promises. I was forced to skip the Green Bay and Oshkosh Camping World locations to the DeForest branch—over 90 minutes away—simply to keep my roof warranty intact. That was on March 21st. Since then, our rig has been stuck in a communication black hole. For the first two to three weeks, I received zero updates. No calls, no texts, nothing. When I finally forced an answer, I was told the person who took my RV was gone and my paperwork was simply "set aside." That isn't a customer service issue; it's a total breakdown in management. They have now sat on a simple $300 electrical repair for weeks without telling me the warranty wouldn't cover it. I would have paid out-of-pocket instantly just to get my rig back ($300 isn't anything), but they didn't bother to ask. After being told it was finally being fixed on 4/30 (a 2-hour job), they dodged our calls for four days. Now, on 5/04, I’m being told they "needed to order a part, and that it should be ready within 2 days." I bet I will have to call them back by Wednesday, as I have 0% confidence they will follow through after repeated failures in communicaiton. If you value your time or your RV, stay away from the DeForest service department. They lack basic accountability and clearly don't care about keeping you on the road.

Overall disappointment with Camping…

Overall disappointment with Camping World! They are too big and corporate mind set. Customer service and satisfaction is not even on the radar, just the sales! We looked at and bought a 2017 5th wheel, super happy with the camper its self. When discussing the purchase my husband and I were taken back by the $2k inspection- to make sure everything worked. We had to pay them to go through it and make sure everything worked and for it to be cleaned. I’ve never heard of such a thing! This was not an as is sale. They said they didn’t even know of the appliance worked or not, but had a heavy price tag on the Camper! We really wanted the camper, decided to pay the $2k in case something didn’t work. During inspection we found the fireplace didn’t work, the ceiling fan was broke. They didn’t find anything wrong. Cleaning the camper was a joke. They stated it would be detailed, I would say barely a broom went across the floor. Cob webs, dirty, mold on the fans, registers full of dirt and pine needles. During inspection they stated they would get all the pine pitch off. ( I thought, that amazing and hard to get off) It looked more like the just sprayed it with water, pitch still on windows etc. Why say that during inspection if you are not going to wash it and do it?? During financing, the sales was so pushy, would not take not for an answer, kept juggling the prices to try to entice us! It became super awkward to over and over say no! They brought the 5th wheel out front, not one person helped us after we signed on the line! Never saw an employee again!! We knew once we pulled out of the parking lot they would not help us again, no warranty or support. I thought the $2k inspection was for used campers until I saw someone purchasing a new camper and had to pay the same inspection fee! Thankfully they did, the refrigerator didn’t work!! Can you imagine brand new no warranty and the refrigerator doesn’t work! They do not stand behind what they sell or care about their name! Don’t get me wrong, I think good people work there but their hands are tied by corporate greed! They have forgotten about the customers and that they could return, we never will!

Sturtavent WI Location

Sturtavent, WI Location Wanted to return items purchased on the web site. Brought into the store and was only given the option of a gift card. Per their website and customer service number, should have been offered the option of them taking items, sending to their warehouse, and issuing a check. The employee who handled us, Bob, was very condescending and became agitated, to the point of the other employee on scene telling him "Bob, stop it!' . Not a good person to be the face of the company. It's too bad, we have several family members looking for RV's, definitely not sending them to Camping World

Don’t Consign Or BUY from Camping World

Where do I begin! Nov 1st 2025 placed my Thor 2023 Challenger 37DS Motorhome on consignment with Murfreesboro, TN Camping World. When driving down the interstate I’m able to see my motorhome from the road, and there are several trees out front by the RV’s! Come December 1st I happen to drive through the road that passes by the back row of RV’s and mine was sitting on the very back lot! I stopped, went inside and asked why my RV on backlot? Was told it possibly had been on a test drive and it hadn’t been moved back out front. So I accepted this answer and went on my way. 2nd week went by and my RV was still in same spot on the very back lot! I stopped and said I needed to get into my RV as I had brought my decorative pillows that came with the motorhome to place on bed. The minute I opens the door, the door hinge was broken off the door, I noticed poop dropping on the floor, and as I moved inside there were many poops scatted around the front floor, in both bathrooms the commodes both looked as if they had been overflowed and backed up with poop residual in the commodes, urine on the couch arms, and lots of poop all over the King size bed comforter! It became evident to me once I spied the nut shells on floor beside the bed a squirrel had done this! Oh, and the dinette table thin layer of covering was now torn in several places! Upon seeing the condition my RV was now in under their Consignment Agreement, I went to the Consignment Manager angry and LIVID to say the least! His statement was that I must have a rodent problem! Which, I replied, if there was a RODENT issue this would have been brought to my attention when service performed their inspection and pictures were taken of an impeccably clean Motorhome of which had been posted on their site to advertise for sale! I told him they allowed a squirrel from front lawn to enter on a nice day when they had the slides pulled out and the door was flung open by a strong wind. Denial, was all I heard, but I wasn’t buying this story. I fussed and told the GM and Consignment Manager someone at Camping World knew about the condition of my RV and moved it to the back lot and said nothing!!! They could not even show an RV in this condition with rodent/squirrel poop everywhere! GM promised me this would be cleaned up by Monday, it was Saturday and they didn’t have staff available to tackle this immediately. Again, I said no way, this was not acceptable! He found someone in service and they got right on the clean up! When I returned Monday, the Service Manager took me to my RV and the minute I entered, the clean smell made me happy, very nicely cleaned. However, while talking to the Service Manager he admitted to me that he thought the owner of this RV had brought this unit in looking like it did before they cleaned it all up! So after talking he came to realize and agreed with me that my perception of what happened was very accurate! Finally One Person at Camping World that would admit I was correct! To get a new replacement table took so many text messages. GM wanted to split the cost with me….which was a huge absolutely not! Wanted me to then eat the freight; another FIRM NO WAY will I accept any financial responsibility for Camping World not taking care of my consignment RV while in their possession on their lot! The table came in and took weeks to get them to finally replace the table and to repair the door hinge. Late April I received a text stating your unit has not sold, it’s time for you to come pick it up. I then advised I’ll pick it up once you provide proof the table has been replaced and the door hinge repaired. Received word back these were taken care of. Picked my beautiful motorhome up! Camping World now needed to refund my ESCROW balance told since the amount was less than $5K this location should have a check available for me Monday. No check. I was told the check was now being cut by Nashville location and Accountant was out of office, and would “probably” bring with her Friday when she comes to Murfreesboro. Nope, no check. Next Monday, I’m informed check had been cut by their Corporate Office and was being mailed to them via FEDEX! He would let me know once check arrived! This has been a long story and not the best experience, but now that Ive received my Escrow refund….Im through with Camping World Forever!!

Ongoing issues for the past year+ due to poor product quality ...

Ongoing issues for the past year+ due to poor product quality ... I purchased my 2024 Keystone Coleman Lantern LT 17B from Camping World in Holiday, FL. in Nov. 2024 & I want to help others avoid the mistakes I made that are still creatings issues today. I purchased this trailer having never owned one before. I did some online research ahead of time (didn't know anyone either that I could ask), but I wasn't experienced enough to know what "flags" to watch for --> (mistake #1 - CHECK). I ended up at Camping World because I saw the brand "Coleman" and based on prior experience (stoves and other camping gear, etc) I figured it was a well-made product, the dealer seemed legit & at the time it was brand new, so...yeah.. --> (mistake #2 - CHECK). I went ahead and paid in full at that time thinking I was getting a great deal for a great product/brand + insurance & a "warranty"...yep, I'm sure you saw this coming... --> (mistake #3 - BIG "BRAIN-FART" CHECK). Within a couple months I began to notice issues... primarily around the overall quality of construction. The best description I can think of is that it looked like it was built by a team of untrained pre-teens using a blueprint created in crayon by a kindergarten class right before their afternoon nap (no offense to pre-teens or sleepy kindergarteners - you're awesome, stay in school & be nice to your teachers, they're people too). There were a number of misaligned corners and edges, missing and crooked screws, staples & screws that were sticking out that I actually got cut by a couple times + places that looked like it had been patched for some reason (and done poorly). Also, the holes where the electrical wiring & plumbing feed into the interior were terrible...huge gaps with uneven cuts & obviously no attempt at all to plug those gaps. Instead, they were basically hidden behind poorly constructed walls, seats and cabinets pretty much causing any of the insulation to actually make a difference. **On a positive note, however - all of the spiders, insects (and whatever that one thing was I found the other day when I was doing yet another repair), give you 6 to 8 tiny "thumbs-ups" for giving them easy access to hidden places to make their homes. To wrap this up, even though I could probably write a whole book, here's my advice to everyone (especially to the "RV Noobs"). #1 - Don't rush it - do real research. If you know anyone who knows stuff, ASK. Go to places like here at Trustpilot, Reddit, Google reviews, Facebook...anywhere that others post advice and information based on their experience & soak it up like a sponge. #Trust, you will thank yourself later. #2 - Do not "assume" anything, period. I learned the hard way that propane camping stoves and other camping gear is WAY different than RV and campers. I also learned that the brand on the "product" may not actually even be manufactured by that brand (which was the case here...the brand says Coleman, but the manufacturer was actually Keystone RV Company owned by a parent company Thor Industries. Basically "Coleman" was just the name put onto the finished product --> looking at you Coleman execs...might not hurt to check-in periodically on others making products under your brand name for QA...just sayin'). #3 - This advice I give with all seriousness...before you take that actual final step of making a purchase, do this: Stop and take a breath. Politely advise the salesperson (or whoever you're about to give your $$$ to) to give you a few minutes. Walk away to a quiet place...away from all the "noise" & review everything...discuss with someone you trust if needed...check any places that could offer any final advice...whatever... ***The main thing to take away from this part is: don't let all the "bells and whistles - smooth talk - numbers, deals, promises + the sprinkles and cherry on top...basically all "The Noise" designed to "close a sale" push you into a decision before you are ready. *Also, very important, do not be afraid to walk away. If you are not 100% sure this is the right move, don't be afraid to say "no" (#trust - the "me now" wishes the "past me" had done that 2 years ago...).

Riverside location is terrible!!!

If you plan to go to the Riverside location, please read first! We purchased a trailer from the Riverside location. March 10th, they told me that I couldn't pay, sign papers, and pick up the same day. So I payed and did the paperwork, and scheduled a pick up date for that weekend. All six of us, in the car, excited to pick up, they call and say we can't because it "wasn't ready". As an apology, they offered next day delivery. Great. Accept that it was delivered FILTHY!! Anti-freeze everywhere, staples even on the beds (which my Autistic daughter got stuck in her foot!), and someones lunch trash in a kitchen cabinet!! As (another) apology, Bryce the Sales Manager, offered a $300 refund. SIX WEEKS and THREE ATTEMPTS with COUNTLESS TEXTS later... I finally get the check: addressed to some random name!!!! Empty promises, pointless apologies, beyond frustrating! Don't waste your time, buy from somewhere else!
