What people say

The cubot devices are really really…

The cubot devices are really really good even though the cubot note 20 isn't the best with only 3 GB of ram it seemed a bit outdated and sluggish but other then that other cubot phone are amazing like the older cubot x17s that was a real gem till I broke it then it nolonger. Worked 😥

I have used Cubot phones for over 10…

I have used Cubot phones for over 10 years now, upgrading every 2 years or so and really like them. They are very good value for the money comparing well with the top priced phones from their competitors. They are well built and very stylish. Their performance is both quick and reliable and battery life is good. Excellent for everyday use with all of the latest features. The camera function is good the x50 having the highest spec at moment and are improving all the time. I have recently purchased their latest Tablet which I think is as good as a Samsung. Overall I can thoroughly recommend You consider them.

Build Quality an Issue

I've had a few Cubot phones (Max,Max 3 and P20) and while the specs are for the money very good and they use stock android OS I've found that the build quality has slowly got worse with each model I've bought. The sound rocker switch fell off my P20 and the screen came out of my Max 3. Switched to Xiaomi now.

Excellent customer service on warranty

Had a recent minor warranty claim (cosmetic defects in the coating on the battery cover), after buying a phone directly from the cubot website The support email always answered within 24 hours on working days (once I'd noticed their replies were going to junk), and arranged to send me a new cover, without needing the whole phone or the old one posted anywhere So I'd definitely buy direct from them in the future!

Mixed experiences

I report mixed experiences. Nov 2016 Cubot Dinosaur 3GB/16GB Android 5 Via Amazon. Didn't work. Full refund. Dec 2016 Cubot Note S 2GB/16GB Android 6 via Amazon. Great. Still works OK today but OS now redundant. Mar 2019 Cubot X19 4GB/64GB Android 9 via Gearbest. Worked well but after 6 months developed a well known charging port fault. Refunded 75% from Gearbest not Cubot. Sept 2019 Cubot X20 Pro 6GB/128GB Android 9 via Gearbest. Great. My best ever phone, fast (no lag) with good storage. Still in daily use. So its a bit of a mixed bag. Cubot warranty is worthless in the real world because it's far too costly and time consuming to ship the faulty product to EU/Poland (where warranty work is carried out) or return to China. The best way to buy is on Amazon to benefit from their no quibble returns policy for faulty products in your home country otherwise you risk being left out of pocket with a DOA or part working phone. To summarise, Cubot do make good, cheap and reasonably reliable phones but you must choose your seller with care and don't rely on the Cubot warranty because China's a long, long way away.

No commercial gesture

I bought a cheap smartphone and faced a technical issue that made the phone unoperational. I tried to fix this issue myself via the cubot support team (we exchanged a lot by email and applied software fixes) but without success. I was asked then to send back the phone to the repair center in Poland via a parcel delivery company. As it is a smartphone, this proves to be impossible for me (at least for s reasonable price): the phone is scanned at the airport and returned to the sender because it may contain a lithium battery (even in my case it didn't as I removed the battery). Following this I recontacted the cubot support team in order to have a partial refund or a discount for another buy. They didn't accept to do anything and didn't propose me any cheap delivery solution to their repair center. Because if this, I cannot recommend this seller.

Electric leakage and shock

I am especially coming here to write a review so that others are safe when they use this phone. I bought a Cubot X30 a few months back. It had to be returned as its software crashed within 2 days and it refused to switch on. In exchange, Cubot sent me a replacement phone. I used the replacement phone for around 10 to 11 months smoothly and its performance was great. For the past 2 days, it began giving me very sharp electric shocks in my hands, and it burnt my hand's skin and gave me burn blisters. I was stunned with the sharp sudden shocks. I was unable to even switch it off without getting burnt. I put on mittens, wrapped the phone with a thin cloth, and then switched it off, as the whole phone turned as hot as a pan on a stove. I had to, unfortunately, return it again after using it smoothly for all these months. I will never recommend Cubot to anyone ever. Thankfully it did not burst on me like some bomb creating permanent skin damage to my hands or face.

Just bought a Note 20 Pro, great so far, good for right-to-repair

I just bought a Note 20 Pro direct from the cubot website, and am very impressed so far - both with the performance, and the long-term repairability It has a removeable battery, headphone jack, 2 sim+microSD slot, unlocked bootloader, the option to use microsd as internal storage, and looks like it can be mostly dismantled with just a small phillips screwdriver - very maintainable, one of the few companies that actually believe you own something after you buy it!
