What people say

26 Years Subscriber

I've been a subscriber to Easynews for 26 years! That's right. The service has been continuously expanding over the years with long retentions and occasional updates to their interface which requires no additional software to access newgroups. Probably the easiest newsgroup service out there! (Hence the name) It's generally fast but could use some speed improvement. Finally, support is fast, helpful and courteous. Would recommend for those wanting a complete package accessible on all platforms anywhere.

Really awesome service & support

Really awesome service which has been more useful then my other reputable indexers. The web search previews make this a must-have for usenet. Also great customer support, helped me resolve an account issue very quickly.

I have been using easynews for 10 years. I did have a problem with the included VPN, but support gave me the solution within 24 hours. It is a great service and well worth the price. Would highly recommend to others.

Can't trust their logging activities

I saw someone on Reddit point out Easynews does not tell us what they log when we use their web search. This concerns me greatly. It also bothers me that every time someone commented about needing help signing up for their service, the easynews rep chimed in but when the person started asking about logging, the rep was nowhere to be found. This speaks volumes about their service. I do not think I can trust it anymore and I just cancelled.

Hello, we take privacy and user trust very seriously, so we’d like to clarify a few points here. Our logging practices are clearly outlined in our Privacy Policy, and we do not engage in any hidden or undisclosed activity. We understand that discussions on third-party platforms like Reddit can sometimes raise concerns, but they don’t always reflect how our service actually operates. We’re also unable to find any account or support interaction that matches this review. If you did use our service and have specific questions about privacy or logging, we’d genuinely welcome the opportunity to address them directly. Our team is always available to provide clear answers, and we encourage anyone with concerns to reach out so we can respond with accurate information rather than speculation.

Sao rapidos, honestos e corteses.

They were quick to address my issues They were attentive and patient They provide excellent service at a reasonable price For all these reasons, I recommend them

I've been a member since 1999

I've been a member since 1999. The service has been going down hill. Nothing really new has been added in the last few years. I'm constantly getting 404 when i click links.

Easynews has excellent customer service

Easynews has been an excellent service. When I had an issue with my account password and billing, they were as good as any company I have ever dealt with. They responded to me in less than an hour and my problem was resolved in three emails. They got me out of some difficulty. I can only praise their customer service and professionalism. Extremely pleased.

Inaccessible Files

Ive been using Easynews (EN) for years... I canceled my membership at one point, however, was drawn back in by an attractive offer. Big mistake. Over the past 6-12 months I've noticed that there are MANY items, increasingly, that are indicated to be available either in a thumbnail or file or.... whatever, however, when an attempt is made to open, the system indicates the file cannot be opened. That's it.... just a message of an error which indicates the file wont open. I communicated with EN about this I was told in simple terms.... "It is out of our control"... and perhaps it is. My point is that the "Over 6395 days of Article Retention" claimed is not accurate. Yes, there may be that many DAYS available, however, when data from 5 years ago OR a month ago is randomly unavailable, the amount of days available is pointless. The fact is, that there are many unavailable files, not a few.... thousands. I need to reiterate that this issue started relatively recently as noted above. For YEARS I used EN with no issues on accessing files, etc. This is a new problem that exists and I'm not the only one it effects. Countless sites such as Reddit, etc. have many comments about this same problem. Seems as though EN is aware of this issue and either doesn't want to fix it or doesn't know how.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for being such a loyal Easynews customer. Sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been having with files that are not accessible. We understand how frustrating it can be to see files that seem to be available but won’t open. To answer your question, “X days of retention” is how long articles are retained on our servers. However, the nature of Usenet is such that it is a decentralized network, and the availability of files is dependent on the completeness of the original posts and whether all parts of a file are still present. Sometimes, this means that files may show up in search results but not be complete or have missing parts, which will cause them not to open properly. This can happen for a variety of reasons that are outside of our control, such as how the files were originally posted to the network. We completely understand your concern, especially if you’ve noticed that this has been a problem that’s been increasing lately. We’d be happy to help investigate any issues you may be having if you’re willing to share more information with our support team.
