They will scam you and tell you get to try to service for 30 days, but when you have issues with porting the old numbers and cancel. They are sneaky and will tell you the 30days started when you sign the contract. Stay away for this scamming company. Eric
You always come through for me. I needed wireless usb devices for my phones and you were much less expensive than Amazon. Love saving money!
It has been a week and I have spent hours on the phone with many people trying to get my system to work properly. Your telephone switching equipment is worse than some 3rd world country. You can't turn off call waiting. They cannot do a proper hunt group. No call forward busy. You need to do some updating to your switch. It's so basic it's pathetic. Your logic on Telcom switching is just inexcusable in this day and age. Someone needs to get there head out of there ass and do some software updating. I am disappointed beyond belief. All I want is an ATA device to give me 2 lines. NO CALL WAITING. When line 1 is busy it rolls to line 2. When 2 is busy it rolls to an outside number. That's it. Every other Telcom company has been doing this for decades. No additional rings between hunting. This has disrupted my business in the most disrupting ways. Ray Raap

The desktop OOMA doesn't receive incoming calls. I can do an outgoing call. I signed up for Business Pro to get this feature as your handsets echo and do not support hearing aids and my PC headset is clear. Hopefully next week I'll have time to call for support to hopefully resolve.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Ooma and the way my account cancellation issue was handled. I was a business customer on an Ooma plan and originally contacted support in August 2024 to request cancellation after experiencing an unresolved caller ID issue that continued for approximately two months. During that interaction, I believed my cancellation request had been processed. However, I later discovered that my account continued to be billed through May 2025. Because I was unaware that billing had continued, I contacted Ooma again in late 2025 after noticing an attempted withdrawal from my account. At that point, I believed the issue had been resolved. My business is seasonal, and we do not use our phone line during certain off months, which is why I had planned to return to the service when needed. Today, I contacted Ooma because I was interested in reactivating my service. I had already purchased the equipment and was prepared to continue as a customer. Instead, after spending over an hour on the phone with a representative and a manager, I was left extremely frustrated by the way my concerns were handled. I provided documentation and information supporting my claim that I had requested cancellation and that I had continued being charged despite believing the account was closed. Rather than thoroughly reviewing the situation from the customer's perspective, I felt that the focus shifted toward defending internal notes and proving that I was incorrect. I was told that the representative's notes were considered accurate, while the evidence I provided was not given the same consideration. I was also informed that I would need to pay an additional three months of service for a supposed past-due balance, despite the fact that I had already paid more than six months of charges for a service I was not using after my cancellation request. When I questioned this, I was told that Ooma bills based on subscription and not usage. I understand that subscription billing exists, but the issue is that I requested cancellation and believed the account had been closed. What is most disappointing is that I was attempting to return to Ooma as a customer and potentially recommend the service to other businesses. Instead of working toward a resolution and rebuilding customer trust, the interaction ended with me feeling dismissed and accused of being dishonest. A company should value customer retention, especially when a customer is making an effort to come back. Unfortunately, this experience showed me a lack of accountability, empathy, and willingness to investigate a serious billing concern. Businesses rely on every dollar, and customers should be able to trust that cancellation requests are handled properly. Being billed for months after requesting cancellation and then having concerns dismissed when attempting to resolve the issue is unacceptable. I will be pursuing this matter through additional channels to seek a review of the charges and request a proper investigation. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend Ooma to other businesses.

I’m absolutely struggling to login. I pay to use service. Get it all set up, then I get an email stating a billing issue, when I go to sign in it says failed to sign in with email. How can pay you guys if I can’t get into my account. Pathetic. I’ve tried using you guys 4 times and every time something like this.

Ooma has really good customer service. The only issue we have had is the cordless phones seem to drop calls occasionally.
Hi Erica, thank you for your feedback and for choosing Ooma. We’re glad for your feedback, and we appreciate the opportunity to learn where we can do even better.
It was a weird complicated issue and all 3 agents I dealt with were absolurely great.

The service rep seemed clueless to what I was requesting. Actually ended up providing me the info I needed but appeared to have gotten there accidentally.

I have the app on my phone, and it only works when I'm connected to wifi. All of my other apps work fine without wifi, just off my cellular service. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and nothing has corrected the issue. As a result, we have missed several opportunities for business. We have ordered the landline phone - I'm hoping this will correct the issue.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ooma's customer service regarding its referral program. The incentive that was advertised did not match the way the program was actually handled. When it came time to honor the referral reward, it felt like there was always another excuse or another requirement that hadn't been clearly communicated. Customer service was unhelpful and inconsistent. Instead of resolving the issue, I was transferred between representatives who provided different explanations, with no clear ownership or resolution. There doesn't appear to be a transparent or standardized process for handling referral incentives. If you're considering Ooma because of its referral program, I recommend reading the terms very carefully and keeping detailed records of every interaction. Based on my experience, the accommodations offered did not align with the advertised incentive, and resolving the issue through customer service was frustrating and time-consuming. Overall, I found the customer service to be poor, the referral process confusing, and the company unwilling to honor what I believed had been promised. I hope Ooma improves its customer support and implements a more transparent, consistent process for handling customer incentives.

On subscription they charged me my monthly fee, the next day they attempted to charge me again for another higher rate and today they attempted to charge me another even higher rate.... very shady, glad I am in my 30 day trial, its going back to Amazon tonight. Absolute waste of time setting this up.

I really wanted to like this because I wanted my son to be able to call me from home, since he doesn't have a cell phone. Unfortunately I returned because the phone is defective (doesn't ring) and there's a lack of transparency with their pricing methods. There was an opportunity for this product to fill a niche but it fails at the most basic level of functionality. Throughout the setup and troubleshooting process, I felt like I was being scammed because of how poor the experience and product was. Problem 1: Defective phone The phone doesn't ring despite troubleshooting (made sure the ringer is ON, call forwarding is not on, cords are in the right phone jack, etc). I got the MyPhone that has the green retro phone look. The phone is very cute and the setup was easy enough but basically it's not doing the most basic thing, which is to ring. It might be that the phone itself is cheap/badly made and can't communicate with the Ooma console. The console itself has nice buttons and lights that indicate what it's doing. Somehow it's not working with the phone, making both pieces of hardware useless. Problem 2: Ineffective customer service I found myself talking to customer service on day 1 of setting it up. After multiple attempts at troubleshooting (which I had done myself, but the service rep did also), the rep said someone would call me. I asked them what they were going to call me about. They said they would look into the "escalation" and (maybe) give me a tracking number. I asked if a new phone would be on its way, but the rep couldn't answer that question and said I would have to wait for someone to call me. It would have been better if they just said they would send me a phone, and gave me the tracking number. We already know it's defective since we spent an hour testing it. If the remedy was quicker, I would have still given it another chance. Problem 3: Lack of transparency on subscription model The company automatically enrolls you into a premium subscription with no mention of that whatsoever during setup, nor in the dashboard after setting up (which is just a badly designed webpage that isn't the same on mobile and desktop, with mobile missing a lot of information). It does mention that making calls is free, but you would be paying for taxes and regulatory fees. That's fair but it's not clear if the premium subscription that they automatically opt you into is to pay for those basic fees, or if there are more features you will be paying for. During the set up they make you add a credit card. When you want to cancel the subscription, you have to call their phone number. I didn't like that they opt you into paying for something you don't know what it's for, and you don't even know how much it is. Then they put hurdles to cancel those services. I waited 2 days for the "escalation" phone call, but never heard from them. I called on day 3 to cancel the whole thing and return the product because I knew they would charge me a premium subscription even if I returned the physical product. After calling and cancelling, they still charged me.

I cannot use the app for incoming calls and had to set up call redirecting instead. I've spent 2 months trying to get this organised and failing everytime. Additionally, the app won't recognise the account that we already have set up (for years). Then, it charged our account $24.95 twice yesterday, even though we've already paid our annual fee. If my workplace didn't already use this app, I would never choose this service.

5 days in and returning product after being billed once, 2 additional random charges bounced back off my paused card and now the service is disconnected. Very disappointed it turned out this way.

I had a Ooma account for a few years. In 2024, I cancelled the account because I closed my business. I have been charged $119 every year since that time. I reached out to customer service and they sent me to their accounting department. The accounting department says it’s a customer service issue and sent me back to customer service. There have been at least five back and forth emails and phone calls with no resolution. I think Ooma might be a scam based on my experience.
