Not What I Expected

I was really looking forward to this purchase, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. The shirt I received was a different color than what was displayed online, and the fabric felt cheaper than described. On top of that, it took almost two weeks to arrive, which was frustrating. I reached out for updates and didn’t get a timely response, so communication could definitely use improvement. I had high hopes, but this experience left me feeling let down. I doubt I’ll order again unless some changes are made.

Etsy was selling counterfeit Areds2 supplements it was investigated and confirmed by Bausch & Lomb. I bought the supplement which seemed suspicious to me and sent it to Bausch for investigation it was confirmed in hard copy letter to me it was not original from Bausch & Lomb. Etsy didn’t want yo refund the money and used all possible tricks to hide this fraud. I communicated with Etsy many times -it’s very unprofessional non compliance incompetent and a waste of my time. If asked I would never accuse buying supplements on Etsy

the Archangel I bought was not what I expected how the image was present. For me the archangel was all plastic that customer has to glue and glue . For the price it was unaceptable. I will not buy anything with this company.

Etsy loves plagerism and people stealing ideas

I designed an STL several years ago and uploaded it with a Creative Commons License. I find out today from someone else that a seller on Etsy has stolen my STL including the images of my model which shows MY HAND! Claiming it is his design and he has full rights to it! I had to create an account on Etsy as I wasn't able to report it without one... upload all my personal details and submit a complaint. Etsy then tells me they rejected my claim as submitting a claim is a serious matter for everyone involved! Basically telling me tough luck and to ask the seller to take it off. Never even used Etsy and they forced me to sign up, take my personal details and then tell me they won't do anything. Disgusting!

Per Etsy: Delivery tracking info is made up

Product was a month late, but carrier notifications tracked package through customs and each step of the way. Finally carrier and Etsy both notified me that package was delivered. I notified Etsy that it was not received and they replied that sometimes carriers pre-emptively mark packages as delivered while truck is still on the way. When two days later I reported that package never arrived, they claimed package was never shipped. I asked how all the tracking notices were sent and they said automated systems just make up status based on previous deliveries and their delivery notification was just based on automated notification from carrier. But packages have to be scanned at each transfer point, so I don't believe what Etsy is saying. Worse if its true, then all the tracking they post is misleading and worthless.

Not receive my product

For a first time purchasing something through Etsy, i am totally unhappy. I made a purchase for a file template at 8.50pm yesterday. 14 hours later and I still have not received the product. A so-called link was provided half hour ago to download the digital product but after clicking it the webpage says "You dont have permission to change or remove this information"!!??

My experience with Etsy was long and filled with frustration

When I started using Etsy I hoped for genuine connections, but the longer I stayed the more disappointed I became. Almost every match would act incredibly affectionate very early, remain online almost nonstop, and completely refuse video calls no matter what. They kept the energy high only while the messaging was free, but once I purchased credits their interest dropped sharply or disappeared. It felt like a system designed around paid correspondence rather than real dating. In the end I was out of pocket, irritated, and had lost trust in the platform. After that whole situation I decided to try UABrides.in. The option to initiate live video calls immediately removes all the doubt and uncertainty about authenticity. They also organize real life events and dating festivals that help move from online to actual in-person meetings. For me this has been a much more positive and effective way to date.

Inexistent customer support

I have a small shop on Etsy that I have put a lot of work into. Two months ago, I decided to put it on Holiday Mode. Now I've decided to reopen it, but I was asked to verify my identity as part of the new EU requirements. When I went to the verification page, the button to start the process was greyed out, so I couldn't begin the verification. It has now been 12 days since I opened a support case, and the only response I received (12 days later) was to complete the verification process because it's required by the EU! I've contacted support through the chat five times, and every time they simply say, "I'm sorry about the issue. The team will reply via email." There is no way to leave feedback about their terrible customer service or escalate the issue to another team. Considering the amount of money Etsy makes from people who spend years crafting their products, while many sellers earn very little in return, their customer support should be outstanding. Instead, it is literally inexistent. I'm seriously considering closing my shop and moving somewhere else.

I haven't received the merchant's order, nor have I gotten my money back. Etsy support isn't working. A huge scam. Stay away from this site.

Absolutely scammers

Absolutely scammers! Don’t use this site! I ordered urn for my dog which passed away in May! No delivery since then ! They provide me shipping number-which said that Shipment has been cancelled by sender! Now I can’t even get any refund from them-cos my order is no longer eligible for Etsy Purchase Protection! My dog ashes is still without urn!🥹 Karma will get them one day! People like them deserve that!

One of the worst buying experiences…

One of the worst buying experiences I’ve had in a very long time. Their website is an absolute disaster—confusing, frustrating, and nearly impossible to place an order through. Instead of helping when I pointed that out, they became rude, disrespectful, and acted like I was the problem. After finally getting the order placed, they canceled it simply because I questioned them and challenged how poorly their ordering system works. That’s not customer service—that’s pettiness. If this is how they treat someone who’s trying to spend money with them, imagine how they’ll treat you if you have a real problem after the sale. They clearly don’t value their customers or need anyone’s business. Save yourself the aggravation and buy from one of the hundreds of other companies that actually appreciate their customers and know how to treat people with basic respect. This was, without question, one of the most disgraceful, disrespectful, discourteous, and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. Take this advice seriously—stay away from this company!

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I received a refund for an item but instead of it returning to my credit card it went to Etsy credit. When I contacted Etsy about this I received a short reply which just stated they would not return the credit to my card. I won't ever shop with Etsy again.

I had a tarot card reading. The person did have very general knowledge about Tarot. Now, these days, they all want to be an "intuitive reader".What it means is that they analyze you, and depending on what you say, they have the answer based on your story, not on the cards, or are completely off, then 'Oh well!! I wanted to write a review, but Etsy did not allow that. You can read some fake reviews but not write. As to the other sellers, selling items, they do whatever they want. They tell you delivery in 3 days, but really it is 1 month and 3 days.I will never purchase anything from Etsy anymore.

This is a terribly manipulative system for both seller and buyer. There is no support for sellers. The staff are rude, lazy and condescending. Try EBay. It’s much more honest and straightforward.

Etsy permanently suspended my account…

Etsy permanently suspended my account for "potentially fraudulent activity" without providing a single specific reason: not in the suspension notice, not during the appeal, and not even after rejecting it. The appeal process is not designed for you to submit evidence like invoices or supplier verification. Instead, it assumes guilt and asks you to write about "extenuating circumstances" and what you would "change," without explaining what is wrong in the first place. This leaves no real way to defend yourself with facts. I ran a legitimate shop for over a year: completing 33 successful orders with fast dispatch, 5-star rating, zero disputes, and full documentation for every item. None of it mattered. Despite this, my account was permanently revoked based on unspecified "activity indicators" that I was never allowed to see or respond to. I understand the need for marketplace security, and withholding reasons might be reasonable for an initial automated flag. But denying access without giving any actionable reason, even after a full appeal, removes all accountability from the process. That is not security, it is simply an unaccountable decision. Financially, this was not a major loss. Despite Etsy's high fees, this shop generated only a fraction of what I earn in far less time on other platforms like Facebook Marketplace and eBay. What is frustrating is being labeled a fraud risk with zero evidence and zero opportunity to prove otherwise, despite a clean track record. If you are building a business on Etsy and planning to invest your time and money, be aware: your account can be permanently suspended overnight with no transparency and no meaningful path to appeal, no matter how legitimate your business is or how much documentation you have to prove it.
