Warranty is a lie, don’t buy a mattress here

I purchased this mattress in October last year, partly because IKEA prominently advertises a 10-year mattress warranty and presents itself as standing behind the quality of its products. Within approximately 4-5 months, I noticed that the mattress had begun to lose its shape and develop visible deformation. Unfortunately, the mattress was no longer providing proper support and contributed to a significant relapse of an existing lower back disc problem, causing considerable pain and affecting my daily life. I contacted IKEA customer support in May 2026 and provided detailed information along with photographs showing the issue. At the time, I explained that the problem had started roughly two months earlier. I was asked for an approximate timeline, not an exact date, and my estimate was affected by the fact that I had been dealing with severe back pain caused by the mattress and was not focused on tracking the precise month the issue began. The most disappointing part of this experience was not only the mattress itself, but the way the case was handled afterwards. First, IKEA stated that I would receive a response within five working days. Instead, it took significantly longer before I received a reply. (About 3 weeks). Second, when a response finally arrived, it was largely generic and requested photographs that had already been supplied weeks earlier. Third, despite all communication being conducted in English, I later received responses in Dutch, making the process even more frustrating. Finally, after weeks of delays and repeated communication, IKEA concluded that it could not help with the issue. As a customer, I find it difficult to reconcile this outcome with the strong emphasis IKEA places on its mattress warranty and product quality. When a premium mattress develops a significant shape defect within a few months and the customer experiences health-related consequences as a result, I would expect a thorough investigation and a customer-focused resolution rather than a prolonged process ending in a refusal to assist. What started as a product issue became an even bigger customer service issue. I am extremely disappointed by the handling of this case and cannot recommend IKEA mattresses based on my experience. I hope IKEA will reconsider this case and demonstrate the level of customer care that its warranty promises suggest customers should expect.

IKEA has lost my business

IKEA has lost my business. I ordered a new kitchen with them, made the appointment with the designer and everything only to find out they had designed it in a way that “does not meet the ikea standard” and couldn’t be installed. Isn’t that ironic. It took them 2 weeks to come pick up the cabinet and going on another 2 weeks for them to send me my money back….I’m still waiting. Every time I call there’s a whole new list of bs they’re peddling. It appears there isn’t much about the company that meets “ikeas standards” that or the bar is real low, jury is out on that one. I was also asked multiple times during the return portion if I had opened any of the boxes which was really giving “loophole to get out of a return” vibes. Used to love that store but I won’t support any business that treats their customers like this. They can build a kite with their vague instructions and fly it as far as I’m concerned.

Ghastly place shop that always involves excessive walking.

You cannot trust the stock count online. It says something's in stock when it isn't. The store has a horrific layout that means that you can be walking for fifteen minutes just to find one item but you're still walking for fifteen minutes if you want many items. There's no quick way in, quick way out for people who just want a small amount. While I like the restaurant and the bistro, and I think the furniture is generally fit for purpose, in future if I want something from Ikea, I'll buy it online. The shop is a totally frustrating experience with a single redeeming feature and that was that I didn't hear any music. If only the rest of the shop had been as good.

Absolutely horrible customer service

Absolutely horrible customer service. I don't think the people that answer the phone understand English. I called to cancel my assembly/task rabbit for a furniture item and the agent assured me it was canceled and it was well in advance........but of course, the assembly guy shows up anyway. Across the board Ikea has been the worst experience. I placed multiple orders for pick up at a local pick up point, never received an email that my order was ready.....finally went anyway and what do you know, the order is there (well part of it). One of the items they could not find and turns out it was randomly canceled without notice, no email, no nothing. Something has happened to Ikea and it's not good!

Don’t buy a kitchen from ikea

Spent load of time designing a kitchen pre-sales. Then it arrived a month later. They delivered the wrong stuff and they missed stuff. No customer service line. I will have to go to the store in Jönköping and hope they will help me. Nightmare.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I paid extra to have my bed delivered on June 1st because I had no other bed available to sleep on, yet IKEA delayed the delivery by 5 days. This completely defeats the purpose of paying for a specific delivery date and has left me without a proper place to sleep. To make matters worse, the chair I received was missing a piece, making it impossible to assemble correctly. Between the delayed bed delivery and the incomplete chair, this has been a frustrating and inconvenient experience from start to finish. I expected much better service, especially after paying additional delivery fees. IKEA needs to improve both its quality control and delivery reliability. I would not recommend paying extra for scheduled delivery if the promised date cannot be honored.

Impossible to contact customer service

Impossible to contact customer service. Chat option will refer to agent but it still answers like a robot. Needed to repeat myself over and over and resend photos/proof several times, only for the solution to be to contact again in 3-5 days for a missing part that is currently out of stock. So stupid!

Lost Orders, Broken Items, and Suppressed Reviews

I am writing this review to share my experience with IKEA Portugal/Lisbon after an extremely frustrating order and delivery process. In February 2026, I ordered two packs of dishes and two separate glass baking dishes to be delivered to my short-term rental home in Funchal, Madeira while I was there on vacation for two weeks. The shipments never arrived during my stay, and IKEA repeatedly told me they could not locate the packages. I attempted to cancel the order, but IKEA informed me they would first try to recall the shipments back to Lisbon before issuing a refund. Weeks later — long after the original delivery window — one shipment was unexpectedly delivered to my property while short-term rental guests were staying there. Fortunately, my property manager confirmed the items arrived intact. The second shipment became an even bigger problem. IKEA still could not locate it and again attempted to recall it from the shipping company. Because I no longer trusted the process, I changed the delivery address to a friend’s home in Madeira in case it eventually surfaced. About 1–2 weeks later, my friend was contacted for delivery. When the package finally arrived, approximately 50% of the dishes in the place setting for six were shattered. One glass baking dish had been reduced to thousands of pieces, and the second baking dish was completely missing. IKEA did compensate me for the damaged items, but they refused to reimburse me for the missing baking dish. What concerns me most is what happened afterward. I attempted to leave honest, critical reviews for the damaged products and the delivery service, but all three reviews were rejected without explanation. I was never given the opportunity to revise them to comply with any stated guidelines or standards. That lack of transparency is the reason I am posting my experience here instead.

Pure negative

Delivery came on time which was fine, but honestly the experience after that was really disappointing. I paid for delivery and live on the 5th floor with lift access, so I expected the boxes to at least be brought to my apartment door. The order had 4 heavy boxes and when I asked if they could bring them upstairs, they said no because they had another delivery to do. I even had to beg them just to bring the boxes to the lift, and one of the guys replied “are you serious?” which I found really rude. In the end they only left it at the lift area and I still had to drag the heavy boxes myself through doors and hallways to my apartment. I understand people are busy, but I paid for a delivery service for a reason. Really disappointed with the attitude and lack of help from IKEA.

I am extremely disappointed with IKEA delivery service to the Isle of Wight. I placed an order and for the second time my delivery date has been changed at the last minute. Each delivery day requires me to take a full day off work

Wasted holiday days because of IKEA delivery!

DO NOT ORDER KITCHEN DELIVERY!!!!!!!

DO NOT ORDER KITCHEN DELIVERY!!!!!!! I had seen a comment on another site of a customer advising not to do delivery for a kitchen order and i should have listened. I order a new kitchen $6300 from IKEA and used the delivery service they offered. I placed the order April 25th, was given the option for May 5th as delivery but chose May 12th instead. May 11th 930PM RXO delivery contacts me and says ikea didnt provide the order to them so they will not be able to deliver. May 12th i was on the phone with IKEA and immediately put a ticket through for the inconvenience and rescheduled for May 26th. Here we are today May 26th, and no order to be delivered, but instead i received a confirmation from RXO delivery that the order was 'placed' with them and my new delivery date is June 16th. Absolutely disgusting customer service, you cannot speak to a manager on the phone or at the store the items are being shipped from. There is no escalation or any sort of rectifying the issue. It is just sit and wait while they reschedule over and over again. Please spare yourself the frustration and do not do delivery.

Outdoor furniture? Just don't.

IKEA is fine for indoor furniture, but do yourself a favor and do not buy their outdoor products. The quality is disappointing and the wood/materials bend easily. To make it worse, their customer support is terrible. When you file a warranty claim, they reject it using nonsense excuses that don't even apply to your product. Save yourself the frustration and buy your garden furniture elsewhere.

Ikea has become old fashioned and low quality. On top they are manipulating product reviews on their website. Surface of desk came off after only 6 month. Many products which they are selling in New Zealand we bought 10 years ago in Germany...

Do not buy the FJÄLLBRÄCKA.

Shitty ass duvet inserts. I bought orginally FJÄLLARNIKA in light warm and it was good. Fluffy and not too hot. I decided to upgrade when I got a new bed, to the more expensive FJÄLLBRÄCKA. However I did not know that the FJÄLLBRÄCKA is terrible and has little to no down. For reference a normal lightweight comforter has 25 to 35 oz of down. The FJÄLLARNIKA has 32 oz. The FJÄLLBRÄCKA for some random reason only has 14oz of down. I am unsure why they even sell this product or why its 99$, but the cherry on top, is that I now have to pay 15$ to ship it back because support doesnt understand the deception of selling a light weight comforter with almost no down.

For us Ikea is the same every time we step in: kindness, affordable, friendly and generally a cozy experience. We love the affordable prices, and surprisingly the food is good. I know many of you think maybe not, but we always enjoy a meal with the same satifaction. Even the sausage ! My impression is that Ikea is not for everyone, but for the many people out there it is an ikon ! It is something always bring nice feeling.

IKEA's 15-Year Warranty Is a Lie

I purchased an IKEA pressure cooker in 2022, covered by a 15-year IKEA warranty. It developed a persistent steam leak — a direct safety hazard. What followed was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had. I was passed between no fewer than five different agents — Gauri, Priyanka, Manish, Varun, and Esha — each sending the exact same copy-pasted paragraph as if the previous emails never existed. Not one of them actually read my correspondence. One agent, after a full review, formally offered me a replacement or refund in writing. I accepted the replacement. The very next agent reversed the offer, called it "issued in error," and went back to the same copy-paste rejection. A formal written offer, accepted by a customer, reversed without explanation. At one point they suggested I return the defective pressure cooker — a safety hazard that actively leaks steam — through their buyback service to be resold to another unsuspecting customer. I have now filed a formal complaint with the Geschillencommissie and the ACM. All of this over a €49 product with a 15-year warranty. IKEA's customer acquisition cost is many times €49. Apparently retaining a customer is not. The product failed. The warranty is meaningless. The customer service is a revolving door of agents with no accountability and no authority to actually resolve anything
