Italki has an abundance of good teachers, assuming my experience is representative. The platform is easy to use and lesson summaries are useful.

Francesco is fantastic. I told him that I wanted to spend my lesson time with him "talking", not doing grammatical exercises. I prefer to do quizzes and grammar as homework assignments. He's excellent with this approach. After the lesson he sends me notes on my errors and helpful hints. They are detailed and precise. I am 100% satisfied.

I've seen so many different platforms advertised where you are able to have language lessons with tutors online, and it can be a minefield trying to find out which once would work best for your needs. I haven't had experience of any others, so I can't realistically compare them, but my experience of using Italki has been nothing other than positive. Most tutors offer heavily discounted trial lessons, so finding one to suit your needs won't break the bank. There are also lots of tutors to choose from in the first place. I would definitely recommend this platform to anyone looking to learn a new language. My own tutor is great, and I wouldn't think of using another platform now.

Easy access to many teachers with trustworthy reviews and good description in good price, good quality video meetings on italki. But what shocked me hardly any teacher had in average more than 5 lesson per student but it is matter of students.

Learning a language can be daunting but Mwalimu Tina makes the experience enjoyable and catered to my personal learning style. I can't express enough how much I am encouraged to practice and actually use the language more instead of just listening and trying to assimilate it all. She is a key factor in my growth and is tuned in to my learning needs. I HIGHLY recommend trying her classes! Once you find an instructor like her, it can be a gamechanger in your language journey!

Absolutely terrible platform. I taught more than 4,200 classes on italki, helping generate significant revenue for the platform over the years. Despite that, over a year ago they removed me without any warning after I got in touch with other tutors to organize ourselves as a group. There was no prior notice, no meaningful explanation, and no consideration for the students whose lessons were suddenly disrupted. What makes this even more absurd is that now, despite wanting to purchase classes for my children, I cannot even use my email addresses to create or access an account as a customer. After dedicating thousands of hours to teaching on the platform and contributing to its success, this is how they chose to treat me. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic respect is astounding. It feels incredibly ungrateful towards tutors who have invested years of work helping build their business. Without a doubt, one of the worst platform experiences I have ever had. Stay away.

Every lesson for well over 5 years has been highly productive. Carolina is an extremely consistent and resourceful teacher. iTalki is doing many things well. I think the combination of private lessons with some group classes is a highly effective way to learn another language.
