I've been getting emails for YEARS enticing me to upgrade my 2015 Quicken. They are constantly offering 50% off, even 60% or 70% off around the holidays. I finally ordered it. Then they said, Oh, that one is not on sale.

Quicken for Mac is Great

I am a user of Quicken for Mac, after having used Quicken for Windows for over 10 years. Quicken deserves kudos for understanding how MACs work, and for adapting to the Mac "culture" while keeping the workflow, characteristics, and features as close as possible to Quicken for Windows as is possible.

Complete product

It's a really complete product overall, and would easily warrant 5 stars if not for ongoing issues with e-delivery of biller invoices in the Bill Pay module. Bill Pay is hit-or-miss — sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't, and the inconsistency is frustrating for something so central to the app. I'd also like to see Quicken focus more of its development effort on enhancements that matter to existing users, rather than features with limited value for people who've been using the product for years. Aside from that, it's a very solid, complete product.

On-Line assistance is generally readily available and capable.

Many of the on-line reps are very good and helpful. No long waits to get to talk to someone. These are key +++++'s

Have used for 20 years. I only use the basic account for banking and paying bills. It has much more accounting sections, but I have not used them. I also prefer the buy method which was discontinued and not the current subscription plan, but what can you do.

I paid for the Classic and when I tried…

I paid for the Classic and when I tried launching it... it won't open...I'm in no better place than I was before. I'm very very frustrated.

The application is generally great

The application is generally great. Occasionally there are download access issues. Sometimes the accounting has minor issues.

Always appreciate ease of use.

Way too costly for the normal citizen

Way too costly for the normal citizen. Constant download errors with banks. Creates duplicates and needs alot of attention to make correct. The export and imports with mortgage loans. The mortgage configurations and setting are poor . But heck the yearly charge get updated and fixed so you know where the company is interested in (only). If there were any alternative I would grab it and your company knows there isn’t one. I wish MSMobey was still available .

Even a subset of features are great!

Even though I know I'm not using half the functionality of Quicken, I'm thrilled by what I do use. It's gui that duplicates a check register look is intuitive, and its tools for backup and reconciliation are excellent.

In general the software works

In general the software works - however, there procedures that seems not to function well - when examining categories - it will not move on - have to reset the dates and search. And the bank connections seem to have periodically have to be reset.

I am a very basic quicken user and I love how years later the newer modules, newer features are there for super users but still letting me use it as I always have . It is still easy to use.

generally better than the alternatives

generally, quicken has been good, but at times I have found the support staff to be less than qualified. A few issues I do have are corruption of database that propogates beyond the normal number of backups, inability to group sub-categories under a category with the gross totals showing, also stock reports do not show gross totals
