Unwanted subscription reversed after complaint
Very unhappy to have been charged an unexpected subscription fee. I wrote to complain, they replied saying the charge would still stand. I replied
"Thank you for your response. I am not happy with your explanation.
Section 62 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 has a requirement for contract terms and notices to be fair. An unfair term of a consumer contract is not binding on the consumer.
Section 68 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 has a requirement for transparency. You cannot rely on Key Terms buried in the small print.
Subscription contracts should include a 14-day cooling-off period under The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:
>On first sign up
>When a free trial converts into a paid subscription
>When a subscription renews into a new contract
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you must provide clear information about cancellation rights before a contract is formed. If you fail to do so, the consumer’s cancellation period does not expire after 14 days. Instead, it is extended by up to 12 months.
Does your process adhere to all these requirements? If so, please demonstrate how.
If you don't provide satisfactory responses to these points within 7 days, I will refer the matter to my credit card provider."
I've now received a refund.
I recently ordered music and inadvertently purchased a monthly subscription. I had no idea I was getting the monthly subscription until the charge appeared in my PayPal account. I see this as deceptive. Even the cancellation prompt is deceptive. Buyer beware.

Heads up for other choir directors
Heads up for other choir directors. my recent Sheet Music Plus order was a mess. I want to change my order from digital to physical music sheets. I emailed them right away, no phone support that picks up, emails to orders@ and support@ went unanswered. They have the biggest catalog, but with no reliable customer service, Sharing so you can plan ahead.
Terrible service. Music order received incorrectly and getting no reply from their email service and the ChatBot doesn't work. No telephone number to call.
Migration of data from Musicroom has still not happened, lost all my "favourites". Music is vastly more expensive.
Very disappointed.

Misleading subscription, no refund
I purchased a single piece of sheet music and was unexpectedly enrolled in a recurring subscription because auto-renew was enabled during checkout. It was not clear that I was signing up for an ongoing paid service rather than making a one-time purchase.
What is most disappointing is the refusal to provide a refund after charging for a subscription I never intended to use. Keeping customers enrolled by default and then denying refunds feels misleading and lacks transparency.
If you have had a similar experience, I encourage you to share it publicly. Honest customer feedback is one of the few ways companies are encouraged to adopt fairer and more transparent business practices.
You buy a music sheet for a good price and then you are charged five times more for subscription. No refunds. Their business model is frustrating. I wish I read the reviews before I entered my bank details.
I recommend never using the site and will never touch it again : beware of the auto-enroll in a subscription EVEN when buying individual music sheet and NOT falling for the trap of the « minus 10 % if you subscribe » trap. I bought one single music sheet at full price and still found out I was enrolled in a subscription. Worse, there was literally no option to cancel the subscription even though the « free trial » (that gets you charged after 7 days) was active. I had to call my credit card service to have it cancelled just to avoid the future charge of a subscription I didn’t want. I didn’t think this level of scamming was still possible today !

Horrid company. Scammers. Charged your subscription even if you cancelled on the date it ends. what kind of scam company is that! Does not even reply you with the right responses. and repeats nonsense in the emails to explain that they are not refunding. the most horrid and unprofessional customer service support team. they do not deserve any 5 stars at all. wonder where all those stars came from.
Sheetmusicdirect and sheetmusicplus have been taking money from me. The sites deliberately look similar . I have a monthly subscription with one and annual with the other. I have now emailed both companies to cancel everything. Shocking. Hal Leaonard own both
Atention, automatic paid subscription when you purchase sheet music
I bought sheet music from this side, so far so good. What was not clear to me was that at the same time they made a subscription for me that they deducted automatically from my account as well.
Look out for this, very unclear thing and check if you can not buy your music from a provider that does not ask for money for both sheet music AND subscription

Fraudulent - DO NOT USE. They signed me up for a monthly subscription without my knowledge when I bought 1 piece of music in January 2026 . I have now been charged £9.99 for 4 months before I realised. I only now read reviews to see this is how they operate as standard. Dreadful.
There is no way of speaking with anyone to resolve. I will be taking this higher but meantime would welcome someone from the company responding to this and refunding the £40 they have taken from me.
I ordered one piece of sheet music and I got signed up for sheet music plus, $9.99 a month without my knowledge. 2 stars only because the sheet music I bought was fine.
