Flag arrived as promised and delivered promptly and in great shape. Even though it is still visible to vehicles, the flag has a low profile and does not sit too high on my trike. I did not give it five stars because the flag did have small rust colored stains on it. Not a huge issue as it does not affect the effectiveness of the flag, just something I noticed.
Order arrived quickly and was exactly as expected. Had to return an item. Customer service was on the phone was very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely be likely to order from them again!
I wanted to wait for a few weeks of experience with my new Rover TerraTrike before reviewing. All I can say is that the process was excellent, very smooth. I was informed when my trike shipped, when I should expect it, etc. I didn't go through a reseller or local bike store, I just had it sent straight to me and it all went fine.
The bike arrived completely assembled in a large box, complete with cardboard ramps to assist removal from the box. I added the few accessories that weren't already attached (the fenders and storage bags) in about half an hour and was riding around town immediately. The trike is beautiful and performs like a dream. I love the CVT drivetrain. I've since added some LED wheel lighting for extra night-time visibility and a basic computer. I am thinking about adding a mid-drive electric system, but I may just keep it stock for extra exercise and not cheat on hill climbs.
It is not an excellent climber, I think a bit more weight over the rear wheel would help with that, but I haven't ridden it packed up with lots of cargo yet. The day it arrived it was snowing and I took it out for ride, despite not being fat or studded-tire it did very well, never getting bogged or feeling unsafe. I can get it up to 25 km/hr on flat ground in top gear, but I wouldn't like to corner sharply at that speed. I've got closer to 40 km/hr on long down hill runs and that is rather white-knuckle for a tadpole newbie like me! It does feel much more stable than my traditional delta cargo trike when cornering, the rover centre of gravity is just much lower. I could never corner at 18 km/hr in my cargo trike, I'd flip it for sure even with lots of leaning. You can brake hard enough to plow the boom into the ground, I did this only once indoors deliberately searching for where the danger point is, and you can also of course lift a wheel or even flip it turning too sharply, especially on inclines or by abusing brake-steering. This isn't a fault, just trike dynamics 101. It is a good idea to know how far you can push your new machine in controlled circumstances before it happens on the road.
The only problem I have experienced is slipping of the seat clamp. It is slowly getting worse, and I think I will need to modify the clamp or back it up with a hose clamp to prevent the seat walking backwards over time. The powder coat on the tail section and the clamp shims have a very low coefficient of friction which makes the clamp pretty ineffective and I actually lost the lower shim, it fell out somewhere, not sure how that could happen to a C-shaped piece of plastic, but it did! I did have to tighten the cruciform to boom set-screws, they loosened after maybe 20 km, but haven't given me trouble since.
In summary, great trike, great seller!
Great !!! Bike shipped quickly. Arrived in a couple of days by FedEx. Took it out of box and road it down the road. I’m a leg amputee and have no problem riding with one leg. Wish I had done this years ago. Excellent company. I will purchase all my accessories from y’all. Thanks again. ~ Thomas
Very helpful as soon as he realized front outer fender strut was 3/4 inches longer than rear fender struts and could be used to clear rear tire (heavy duty wider tires made rear fender rub). I suggested that stut lenghts from all terratrikes be measured so customer service would know which stuts could be substituted when original stuts are too short.
Thanks Jerad.
The people at TerraTrike have always been helpful to me . My trike is 10 years old so parts are my main concern . The people there were quick to get me to the right area . the customer service staff was not only able to find my part but because I am an original owner they informed me that this part was covered under a warranty. I didn't know, but the fact that they brought it up says a lot about the integrity of the company. I Plan on riding this trike for a long time and feel confident that TerraTrike will be there to help me with that.
This was my first experience with a recumbent trike.
I purchased a used Rover and wanted to add a few niceties.
After examining the trike I realized that it was a quality
machine and deserved to have quality accessories not just
some make-shift gadgetry.
I looked up the items I wanted and ordered them directly
from TerraTrike.
It only took a few days for the shipment to arrive.
Everything was packed well and nothing was damaged or
missing.
The instructions were clear and all of the parts fit together
without any force or modification.
The only down side to this whole experience ...
The soreness in my face from a constant grin as I roll down the bike
trail!
Thanks guys. Great product, great fun!
Great job on the order! Remember to add these instructions to the lock: "Twist the knob." Love the trike! It is so comfortable especially with the neck rest! I feel like I can take a nap while riding!
Shout out to the crew at Two Wheel Drive in Albuquerque where I purchased it; they went above and beyond to accommodate me in a short amount of time. They adjusted the Rambler for my size, added slime to the tubes, strapped that baby on my roof and trunk, and away I safely went!
