I've cancelled my services with them over a month ago and I'm still being charged. Through their site, if I "cancel membership" it confirms it. But then, I can keep cancelling and getting the same confirmation...I feel like that says something about what's going on. No matter how many times I've cancelled, I've still gotten charged. So flagging them for fraud, and changing my payment details because they don't seem to care.

Leaders provided terrible resume services then when you ask for a refund 10 minutes after paying they say they will refund you but they lie and instead try to charge you again when they never deliver what they claim in the first place.they don’t provide confirmation of your cancellation either so they can keep charging you.

In today’s society apps like this prey on the vulnerable. Charging individuals seeking employment while promoting that you can get them high paying jobs knowing that is beyond impossible as Ladder’s has no affliation to the companies that they promote jobs for is sickening. The harrassment is next level as they send you dozens of emails everyday even when you never subscribed to them in the first place. Apps like this need to be banned. I was prompted to submit my card information just to apply for the job ON MY OWN, who charges someone to apply for a job ON THEIR OWN????!!!!!! Yall have a better chance of using Indeed, LinkedIn, ClearanceJobs, USAJobs, or simply Googling jobs… Atleast those sites dont charge or harrass you while seeking employment. I wish all those seeking employment the best of luck on your search.

Very unprofessional liar of a CEO (Jason) he says is his name but Google says CEO is Marc Cenedella. This company has been quietly slipping down hill for years with a pitiful 2.3 rating. The jobs they claim to have are expired job posts. If your not carful you will click something that signs you up for an unwanted subscription...Very typical of a low quality BOZO company like ladders...sucker born every minute is Jasons motto...ask anyone who has worked for this low-rate trashy scam artist!

Saw a job advertised through Linkedin and responded to it. Within few hours I received at least 15 emails, several pressuring me to upgrade from basic account. I didn't even have time to really check what the company is all about. Should have read reviews first. My bad. I don't think any good company will sign up with them if candidates have bad experience. I deleted my account just 4 hours after I joined because I knew the level of emails will drive me nuts. AI generated too. I considered marking as spam and keeping the membership but thought no - I should have a better experience than this. Perhaps they can learn from it.

This was easily one of the biggest disappointments...
This was easily one of the biggest disappointments of my job search.
The platform promises to make finding a job easier, but in my experience it did little more than take my money. I paid for the service, submitted countless applications—including ones they claimed were "auto-submitted"—and not a single meaningful opportunity came from it.
Instead of providing real value, I was constantly bombarded with upsells for additional features and premium services. It felt like the business model was focused more on extracting money from people who are already in a vulnerable position than actually helping them find employment.
Save your money. You'll likely get better results spending the same amount of time networking and applying directly through LinkedIn or company career pages. This platform is massively overhyped and, in my experience, delivers very little for what it charges.

Literally can't look at anything without it redirecting me to buy more stuff that I don't want. Can't see all the options in the filters because they're blocked by pop ups to buy more. Can't click on positions without being redirected to another membership page. Scammed out of $14 for two weeks of nothing.

The resume service is awful, sent me a resume I'd be embarrased to use. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and they blocked me from the job seach membership I purchased. This company is a joke. I've disputed the membership charge, we'll see what happens but I just want to warn people that this isn't a very good job board and for God's sake don't let them do your resume, a child could do a better job!!!

This company is horrible! I bought a resume package and when I received it, I didn’t like how it was worded. It excluded me from positions that it shouldn’t. When I reached back out to ask them to adjust; I was told that it is editable and I can do it myself. What the heck did I pay $300.00 for?

I have been using The Ladders for several years. Spent a significant sum - an amount that has been increasing regularly. I am a senior executive in the finance space. I have not received a single positive response to my applications, estimating to be around 100. The service sounds good, makes it easy with EasyApply, but doesn't deliver on a single service quality commitment.

Do not waste your time with this service.
Just clicking on some of their links can get you inadvertently signed up for a paid subscription, an exceedingly deceptive practice.
Ladders positions itself as listing above average salary jobs, when most are not. They will also post jobs that no longer exist in order to get you to sign up for a payed membership. There is near zero follow up from the company for your applications.
Do not waste your time with an employment company the Glassdoor notes has it's own problems with employee turnover, inconsistent business practices, and problematic freelancer relationships.
I worked with The Ladders as a freelance writer from late 2023 through mid-2025. While communication and workflow were acceptable at first, things took a turn when two of my monthly invoices went unpaid — despite the articles being submitted, accepted, and published. When I followed up professionally, I was met with retroactive accusations and legal threats. Many of the assigned topics were nearly identical (e.g., keyword variations), and the editorial guidance encouraged tools like Surfer SEO — but that’s now being used against me. This experience left me feeling devalued and exploited. Proceed with extreme caution if you’re a freelancer or contributor.
I am big on following my instinct, but sometimes I need to go with what the previous reviews on a business said, and this is a prime example of that. Ladders is nothing but a rip-off. They will miss some key achievements on your resume, and when you reach out, they will send you endless emails to justify the nonsensical, but add the specific accomplishment you are asking for. I paid for a professional Resume touch-up and LinkedIn profile update 2 weeks ago, and I am still to date running after them to get my resume fixed. Do not waste your money, AI will do a better job than they will, and promptly.
Prompt customer service leading to a quick resolution
What made my experience great is that the Ladders customer service rep who handled my inquiry responded promptly to each email question and follow-up question I had, and she quickly, courteously, and satisfactorily resolved my issue.
Absolutely terrible service and customer service. I did the professional bundle assuming that someone would contact me to go over the resume. When I realized that that was not going to happen (almost immediately) I requested a refund within minutes. They did not get back to me for days and then delivered the resume. It was terrible. They just put a ton of buzzwords at the top in order to flag ATS systems, I guess, but if a human looked at it, it is obviously ridiculous. They also added bullets and skills that were not listed in or resume elsewhere (and not even close synonyms).
The LinkedIn “optimization” was just a poorly copy and pasted version of the terrible resume. The bullet points were badly formatted with both dashes and bullets. The headline was absolutely ridiculous, as it was just those some buzzwords from the resume.
The kicker is that you can’t preview the LinkedIn optimization, so in order to see the work you have to upload it to your LinkedIn- DO NOT DO THIS!!! You can’t go back, so you’ll have to spend over an hour undoing this.
This site should definitely be shut down. I am embarrassed this happened to be, but hoping to help others here. Don’t let it happen to you.
