People also find the platform very easy to navigate, consistently highlighting wonderful prices, brilliant merchandise, and quick shipping on all of their orders. However, some people mentioned receiving merchandise that contained undisclosed faults or dealing with products from certain unreliable sellers that did not meet expectations. Others experienced unexpected delivery charges, confusing shipping costs, or frustrating difficulties when trying to process returns for damaged items they purchased. A few users also noted that the auction pace can feel overwhelming at times.

What people say

shipping costs

The shipping cost are high due to items being shipping in a pain white envelope and a dime or qtr in the envelope the cost after the first buy is not always free?? shipping is still added after that first buy ? Although I have no started looking at other sellers with much less shipping costs , just a concern especially when you want to buy from other merchants on line and you continue to pay each merchant 4.-5.00 that adds up quickly and lessens my buying experience from each merchant

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Shipping costs are set based on each seller's shipping profile, packaging, and shipping method, so they can vary from seller to seller. While first-time buyers receive free shipping on their first purchase, shipping charges may still apply on future purchases and when buying from different sellers. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Feedback like this helps us understand where we can improve, and we'll be sure to pass it along to the appropriate team.

Suggestion

It's well presented and the algorithm seems to show one's interests. Would be good to further refine the search function to direct buyers looking for specific items and/or brands directly to vendors selling those items or brands. It would help both vendors and buyers.

Your policies are strange

Your policies are strange; they prioritize protecting the seller over the customer. I did not like this, so I decided to avoid buying unless there is something truly unique. Additionally, most of the sellers are scammers—they sell items that cost less than $2 on AliExpress, and it is obvious from the packaging that they come from AliExpress. I have been buying from AliExpress for 10 years or more, spending no less than $10,000 annually, so I recognize all their products at first glance. You might be surprised, but often when I browse AliExpress, I cannot find anything new to buy because I have already bought almost everything they offer 🫠. So I started looking for other platforms, and my son invited me to use your app. The beginning was good, but later I ran into a problem, and the app refused to even let me submit a support request. I asked my son, and he told me he has the same issue—they cannot help him under the guise of "buyer and seller protection." Therefore, I decided to avoid buying from you. With all due respect, you need to improve your operations. Recruit people in different countries, give them a fixed salary, and help them get wholesale pallets of goods at low prices to revive the app. Many people feel disappointed and do not trust the sellers. There are many scammers, and the victims are often people over 50 like me. Thank God I have my son to guide me, but others end up buying a $2 item for £8 without knowing, while sellers display fake Amazon prices for similar products. You are heading toward a downfall, especially with TikTok entering the live-selling space in the exact same format as your platform.

Waste of time to save yourself 20 quid

Waste of time to save yourself 20 quid. Soend ages waiting for something in your size to then the bidding hype. Better off researching deals and sales than seeing some chav in a wooden box bang on about some Nike air max micro space station 75000 limited edition Bro's in a size 4

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We understand that live auctions aren't for everyone, and that the format and pricing may not match every shopper's preferences. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we'll pass your feedback along to the appropriate team.

I left one star out because too may…

I left one star out because too may seller here are out to sell high but when they don’t they either cancel or won’t even ship your orders. Yes we do get our money back by whatnot, but that doesn’t cover what I feels what my order is worth.

Whatnot..why not.

I really enjoy Whatnot. I'm relatively new, and yes, I did get caught up on the low prices, only to be surprised when the shipping and taxes are added on. I learned very quickly to always keep an eye on the shipping charges and if it's high, make sure that I'm buying multiple items from the seller for the bundle. Delivery is primarily through standard USPS, so don't expect immediate delivery. Once I understood the platform, and the strategies to ensure I was not eventually paying retail, it made the experience better. Whatnot has also made the refund process simpler. Overall I appreciate the Whatnot community and the chance to buy items at deep discounts.

Shopping on Whatnot is a roller coaster of fun.

Shopping on Whatnot is an absolute blast! You’re never stuck browsing just one seller or item—there is an endless variety of livestreams and amazing finds to explore. The incredible treasures I’ve discovered on the app would have taken me hours of driving around and hunting through dozens of specialty shops. As someone with mobility challenges, having a platform where I can shop for unique items and make new friends right from home is a massive bonus. The savings are incredible, and the thrill of competitive live bidding really gets your heart pumping—it is an absolute roller coaster of fun! Just a word of advice: keep an eye on your budget, because it’s super easy to get swept up in the excitement of the moment. Download the app, jump into a stream, have fun, and bid responsibly PJ

STAY AWAY FROM SCAM LEGO BREAKS

Whatnot Trust & Safety Team says it is absolutely fine and in line with their Surprise-Set Policy, that a seller advertised a 200 spot Break and once most cmf's (tiny minifigures) were sold at £30 to £40 each and there were 25 actual nice lego sets left in 50 remaining spots seller announced he will just end the break and rather separate the remaining big sets into separate mini breaks to get 500 extra spots out of them. I am horrified by this but even more shocked at whatnot's response... PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ANY FORM OF SURPRISE SET GAMES It's a big scam and whatnot is absolutely fine with it due to the amount of money it brings in. Not to mention the streamer in question has been bashed all over on social media, reddit everywhere for pulling stunts like this, but also not sending out huge giveaways and similar issues.
