I am happy to report that my issue has been resolved and I have received a refund
I tried this company to open a document they charged me .90 and the document still did not open I forgot about the incident but a week later I had £39.99 taken from my bank account . I did not read the fine print and they have said I signed up for a subscription which I fine unacceptable I am a 73 year old pensioner and have notified them of this fact and I was told Not their problem ... this is to warn other older people out there . Do not use this company .They are a rip off .They have refused to refund me After interaction I am happy to say that I have now been refunded and I am pleased on how this issue was handled

Along with various other people,I paid 90p for a week's use of this service and had £39.99 monthly subscription taken from my account a week later with no warning for a service for which I have no use.An email to them asking for a refund was replied to with an invoice for 90p.I tried emailing again multiple times,including today,and the emails fail to send and everything is fine from my end so I assume they have blocked me.Last week I filled in their online form and asked for a refund,pointing out that I cannot afford £39.99 for something I don't want and won't use and which has caused me financial hardship-to date,I have had no response.I shall give them a couple more days and then shall raise a case with my bank

Beware the £39.99 charge
I paid for a 90p conversion and didn't realise that it would be a £39.99 subscription. I didn't get any confirmation email telling me that I now had an account or that it would be £39.99 per month. On getting billed, I immediately got in touch with the company, to be told that no refund would be allowed because it is all in the email that I didn't receive. I found another review on here, which stated that they received a refund having contacted the company following being billed, which I flagged with the ZoomConverter to no avail.

A legailised scam
A company that provides a useful product and has no need to trick its customers into automatic renewals. Nowhere did we see that was what we were agreeing to. When questioned the first line of the Zoom converts reply says it all " I understand why this charge was unexpected" - it was unexpected as we did not sign up to it and it was purposely not made clear so as to trick us out of the £39.99. It goes on to say "and I’m sorry for any confusion this may have caused. To clarify, when your account was created on 15/06/2026, you started a 7-day paid trial for £0.90. As shown during checkout and confirmed by email, the subscription automatically renews at £39.99 per month unless canceled before the trial ends. Your account was billed the regular subscription fee of £39.99, as the trial was not canceled before its expiration." Two of us were at the screen on the day we paid £0.90p and neither saw we were signing up to anything other than one document being converted. No email was received telling us we would be charged a subscription fee or that we had to cancel the subscription. Luckily one of our staff spotted the charge to our card and alerted us in time to cancel it before the next payment was taken. Sadly despite providing a useful service I would avoid Zoom convert for someone a little more honest. Sadly, like us, few people check reviews until they've been caught as witnessed by other negative. reveiws. Perhaps if we all called trading standards we might get this practice stopped.

Like others on this page.....I paid 90 pence for one download and got caught in the £39.99 subscription fee. The terms and conditions are not well documented when you use the site and I got caught! They will not refund the money, stating the terms and conditions when you click through. The bit that clearly shows this company is immoral - despite, many people being caught out, they dont change the sales process so that it makes it totally transparent. They just keep taking the money of people falling into the pit!

Refusal of refund :(
I have received an email saying I have been refused a refund of £39.99. I paid the fee of 90p as I had to open a very urgent file that I had received from the NHS about my Mother who is receiving palliative care - in the end the file had been sent to me by the GP in error. I was in such a rush to open this file that I stupidly missed reading about the £39.99 renewal fee after one week. It is such a shame that a refund can't be processed as I have just read a review on here saying someone was given a refund. I am a full time carer with very little money and this has made a big dent on my finances. A one off kind gesture would be so nice :(
