ACMER is committed to cutting-edge laser technology and is equipped with the world's first Corexy laser engraving machine and the world's first gantry dual-machine laser engraving machine - ACMER P3. In addition, there is ACMER X1, the world's first 120W water-cooled 2450*1250mm ultra-large size enclosed laser engraving machine.
Reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently mention that the machines are exceptionally easy to set up, highly detailed, and consistently deliver clean, precise cuts across various crafting materials like wood and leather. Many people also praise the outstanding customer support, noting that the team is responsive, professional, and genuinely helpful when resolving issues.
However, some people mentioned experiencing slow response times, communication delays, or receiving incorrect replacement parts when trying to fix damaged components. A few other people also felt that there were persistent difficulties with software compatibility, machine errors, and general troubleshooting for faulty hardware.
Customer services are rubbish.
Had a problem when the x axis on my engraver stopped working. Went on webpage and explained to bot who told me that a human would contact me within 48 hours.
Tried a repair and ran tests whilst waiting, after 4 days with nothing heard from acmer, I contacted them by customer services and entered a ticket, in which I painstakingly explained the issues and all that I had done to rectify it, I listed all the tests I had run and asked their advice for what I need and, should that be a replacement motherboard, which one that I would need and where could I buy it. I was told that I would get a reply within 48 hours - again!
3 days later, totally disillusioned with acmer I scrapped it and ordered a new machine from creality.
2 days after that (5 total) I received an email from customer support asking for a video of the fault!
It has stopped working, what do you want, a video showing it not moving?!!
I bought an Acmer GE1 from their official shop during pre-sale, and haven't been able to make it work at all with my Mac. The support people were very kind but no resolution and no follow up. Everything that was sent to me seemed to be spat out of an AI that did not have up to date training material about a Mac. They then reached out and asked for a video of the issue on 25 September. Despite me following up, I've not heard back from anyone.
I managed to test the laser with someone else's windows computer and although it works, the software is poor (it doesn't work with Acmer Studio, it uses something called GE Lab) and even Lightburn (which they claim is supported) cannot see both lasers (it recognizes it as a fiber laser, somehow).
I just wanted a portable laser at a reasonable price, but I guess you get what you pay for.
This is just another Chinese based laser company that has no support. Besides email, you can't get your machine fixed. My machine was messed up from day one. I'm going on two weeks and communicationis absolutely terrible. I am absolutely p***** off. I feel like I've wasted a $1000 for nothing. So now I'll make sure I leave a comment every time i'm on facebook when I see acmer ad
I have been using the ACMER 24W/48W Laser for the past two years, and my experience with both the machine and ACMER’s customer service has been consistently positive. Prior to this purchase, I operated a 10W laser for approximately five years. When I decided it was time for an upgrade, an online review led me to choose ACMER. That decision has proven to be an excellent one.
The performance of the ACMER 24W/48W Laser has remained outstanding. While I have encountered occasional operational or mechanical issues—as is expected with any precision equipment—the machine continues to deliver reliable, high quality results. My first reported issue occurred around six months after purchase, but I later discovered that the problem was due to my own oversight and was able to resolve it independently.
Since then, I have submitted several support requests through ACMER’s service email. Despite time zone differences, their responses have generally been prompt, professional, and helpful. Some issues were straightforward and easily resolved. Others required more detailed troubleshooting, including diagnostic tests and video submissions for review by ACMER’s engineering team. In every instance, ACMER successfully resolved the problem, and today I remain extremely satisfied with the level of support provided.
It is important to acknowledge that while ACMER’s service is strong, customers also play a role in successful troubleshooting. I have seen complaints online regarding slow responses or unresolved issues. In my experience, many challenges can be addressed by taking the time to understand laser operation, maintenance, and basic diagnostics. There is a wealth of online information available, including numerous instructional videos that explain how lasers work and how to achieve optimal results.
If requested, I am willing to provide references to the resources that have helped me along the way.
Overall, I am very pleased with the ACMER 24W/48W Laser and the customer service team supporting it. The combination of strong performance, reliable engineering, and responsive support makes ACMER a company I am confident recommending.
We bought a s1 from a local auction unbox it at home to find out the main wire harness had been cut. Connected to support they provided support and options to get a new harness to us.
So rest assured however you got your product either from them, Amazon your local auction or a yard sale they will provide timely support.
UPDATE: Now they have decided to replace the defective part. But I have to return the old part before they ship the replacement. So it will take about 3 weeks for the old part to get there and then another 3 weeks for the replacement to get back here and by that time my 6 month warranty on the module will be gone
Acmer P2 33w
The machine when working is great. But at less than 6 months old should not blow the laser module. Left a voice mail for the almost a week ago and 5 days later they finally return my call after battling with their facebook messenger response and emails. Initial response for and message or email is 3 to 4 days. Then you get responses back every 24 to 48 hours, If it requires a replacement part you then have to wait almost 3 weeks for it. The laser module should have more than 6 month warranty. Then you you have to buy a replacement you just as well to buy the whole new unit because that is basically what they charge for just the module. They need customer service available 24/7 like real businesses and parts stored stateside so you don't lose so my time waiting for it to cross the ocean. all toll waiting on them I have lost over 30 days and all that is losses on the short warranty time also
I bought an Acmer K1 (7-watt) laser engraving machine. I have had it for a year now and am still very satisfied with it. The device does everything it is supposed to do. I engrave on faux leather coasters as well as ceramic tiles, poplar, glass, anodized aluminium, cork, oak, etc.
The after-sales service is also top-notch! When there are questions and/or problems, a solution is always sought.
I am extremely satisfied with Acmer.
Updated review
After going backwards and forwards with Acmer over my 24/48 watt laser module which is unusable due to the focal lens shattering. I am extremely disappointed that Acmer are telling me I need a new module, mine is less than 1 year old and has hardly been used.
Apparently it is 6 month warranty, so if your laser does not work after 6 month you need to shell £500 pounds out for a new one.
In my opinion this is very unfair, where do these people think we have £500 spare.
I am now stuck with an unusable
laser engraver with extension and a rotary.
Thanks Acmer, you have acted amazingly 😭
My Honest Review of the Acmer S1 Mini 6W Laser Engraver (From a Total Beginner Who Bought It After Two Beers)
When you’re new to laser engraving, every purchase feels like a gamble. I’ve owned cheap 3D printers before — the sort that promise the world and deliver spaghetti sculptures — so I wasn’t keen on repeating that disappointment with a laser. I wanted something reliable, beginner‑friendly, and capable of producing results that didn’t look like they’d been drawn by a toddler with a magnifying glass.
But after two beers and a moment of bravery, I clicked “Buy Now” on the Acmer S1 Mini 6W. And honestly, it might be the best tipsy decision I’ve ever made.
Unboxing & First Impressions
The first surprise was the size. The S1 Mini is tiny. Not “toy” tiny — more “this actually fits on my desk without rearranging my entire life” tiny. It’s lightweight too, which makes it easy to move around or store when not in use. For anyone working in a small space, this is a massive win.
Acmer clearly designed this machine with beginners in mind. The frame is simple, the laser module slides neatly onto the bracket, and the cables are labelled and straightforward. No fiddly assembly. No swearing. No YouTube rabbit holes. Just a clean, sensible design that gets you from box to engraving in minutes.
To protect my table, I screwed a 3D‑printed bracket onto a bit of scrap wood, placed the laser on top, plugged in the cable, and that was basically the entire setup. Coming from 3D printers that require a degree in mechanical engineering, this was bliss.
Setup & Software
The manual recommends LightBurn, and as someone who had never touched laser software before, I found it surprisingly intuitive. I connected via USB, installed LightBurn, and within 20 minutes I was engraving slate coasters and metal bottle openers like I’d been doing it for years.
Acmer also provides their own software, but LightBurn is the industry standard — and the S1 Mini works perfectly with it.
The manual includes preset settings for different materials: slate, wood, leather, stainless steel marking, acrylic, and more. And unlike many “starter” machines, these presets actually work. They’re not wildly optimistic guesses; they’re usable right out of the box. For a beginner, that’s a huge confidence boost.
Performance & Engraving Quality
Let’s talk about the laser itself. The S1 Mini uses a 6W optical output diode laser with a 0.06mm compressed spot, which is impressive for a machine in this price range. That tiny spot size is what gives you crisp detail — and it shows.
My first test engraves were slate coasters. Clean lines, sharp detail, no burning or smudging. Then I tried metal bottle openers — again, great results. The laser handled both materials without hesitation.
Over the next two weeks, I engraved:
Slate,Bamboo,Leather,Powder-coated metal,Cardboard,MDF,Stainless steel (marking with tape)
Every single material produced results far better than I expected from a “mini” engraver.
The S1 Mini also includes:
Safety glasses
Test materials
Tools to replace almost any part
High-speed engraving capability
For a beginner machine, it’s surprisingly capable.
Daily Use & Reliability
I’ve used this laser almost every day for two weeks now. It’s been rock-solid. No weird behaviour, no random disconnects, no overheating. The frame stays stable, the module stays aligned, and the results stay consistent.
The lightweight design makes it easy to move around, but it still feels sturdy enough for daily use. I’ve run long engraving jobs without any issues, and the machine hasn’t once complained.
For a budget-friendly diode engraver, the reliability is genuinely impressive.
Who This Laser Is For
If you’re a hobbyist, a crafter, or someone just getting into laser engraving, the Acmer S1 Mini 6W is absolutely spot-on. It’s affordable, easy to use, beginner-friendly, and capable of producing genuinely impressive results.
It’s not trying to compete with industrial CO₂ machines — but it is punching well above its weight for a diode engraver. It’s the kind of machine that lets you learn, experiment, and build confidence without feeling overwhelmed.
The Unexpected Side Effect: Addiction
I enjoyed this machine so much that I’ve already ordered the Acmer P3 48W. That should tell you everything. The S1 Mini didn’t just meet my expectations — it pushed me further into the hobby.
If you’re on the fence, especially if you’ve been burned by cheap machines before, this is the one to start with. It’s compact, capable, and confidence boosting.
Final Thoughts
The Acmer S1 Mini 6W is a brilliant entry-level laser engraver. It’s easy to set up, easy to use, and produces results that look far more “professional” than you’d expect from a small diode machine. For beginners, hobbyists, or anyone wanting a reliable desk-friendly engraver, it’s a fantastic choice.
Honestly they have some of the best customer service and great product
Honestly they have some of the best customer service I have ever dealt with, I've only had one issue with my product (Acmer S1, 10W beginner laser cutter and engraver) which I bought through the official Amazon shop, where after 7 months the main wire became faulty to the point it wouldn't work as the laser head ran its path.
I contacted customer service and they asked me to send videos of the fault to an email the amazon customer service team sent me.
After a few emails back and forth, and even though my machine was past the 3 month warranty, they sent me a replacement wire at no cost to myself.
Fitting the replacement wire was also very straight forward, unscrew a few things here, carefully remove some glue and attatch the connectors before rescrewing the parts back where they should go.
As a new starter to laser cutting and engraving I have been very impressed with this company and product and I would be more than happy to trust them in the future when I buy attatchments for the current laser I have and upgrade to a larger one once I've got more experience with this one.
And to the person and people I have dealt with they've been a huge help and are a credit to the company, they made everything easy and even followed up to make sure that everything was going well, so a big thank you to them for all the support.
I purchased my Acmer P2 20w laser engraver last November. I’ve made numerous projects since then for numerous people and for numerous occasions and everyone has loved them. The sales and support team have been great and have responded to all my questions.
I have the Acemer S2 Pro 48 Watt. It is an upgrade from a previous laser of another manufacture. The first thing I noticed was the quality and sturdiness of the frame. "It is a beast." The second thing is being able to move from normal to precise modes with a flip of a switch. Thirdly customer service has been great. I have contacted them twice on questions i had on assembling the unit. Both times response was quick with a video and written reply
This is my first laser and it has been amazing. The laser was easy to put together and use. If there are any questions, the website has a variety of support links.
I would recommend a laser from ACMER for anyone who is starting out in laser engraving.
Excellent Laser for Hobbyists and Small Businesses
I've been really impressed with my ACMER laser. Setup was straightforward, and I was engraving projects much sooner than I expected. The engraving quality is sharp, the cuts are clean, and the machine has been reliable throughout my use.
I've worked with a variety of materials, including wood and leather, and the results have been consistently impressive. The machine feels well-built, runs smoothly, and offers excellent precision. There is a bit of a learning curve if you're new to laser engraving, but that's true of any laser, and there are plenty of resources available to help you get started.
Overall, I think ACMER delivers an excellent balance of quality, performance, and value. Whether you're getting started with laser engraving or adding another machine to your workshop, I would definitely recommend it.
Very satisfied with my purchase from ACMER. The equipment is of great quality, well packaged, and meets my expectations. Following a quick question, customer service was very responsive and professional. I highly recommend!
Acmer p3 48/24w is my first engraver - I am very satisfied with it. It is a robust, fast, very powerful machine. I just had a problem with the switch on the laser head and support immediately sent me a replacement part under warranty.
I was gifted the P2 20w Acmer laser engraver by my husband in October of 2024. I have picked up doing Tumblers and had the privilege of providing custom tumblers to 5 of our local fire stations! I love the way the P2 creates a clean crisp line and details to give each of my designs a clean professional look!
Hello,
I bought a P2 20W last year. It's a very good quality machine, which I highly recommend.
It is indeed a very good machine and I'm very happy with it.
I just had a small problem this year with a return pulley. I contacted customer service, who responded very quickly, and they found a solution to my problem very soon. I will therefore receive the damaged part at my home very soon.
