Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Consumers also deeply appreciate the seamless logistics, comfortable transport, and the outstanding assistance provided by knowledgeable local guides and drivers at every single destination. Some reviewers were not happy with minor communication barriers regarding English proficiency, encountering an occasional distracted guide or receiving less detailed historical explanations during excursions. These specific issues with communication and guide engagement were occasionally noted by participants as areas requiring improvement.

Virginia did a wonderful job arranging our trip throughout China. I decided on using China Highlights based on the reviews on the Internet and seeing the types of tours they could provide in China. Virginia did a great job of communicating with me and making revisions to our itinerary promptly. We also appreciate her recommendations. That was very important to me. Communication is key. I am glad that our visa is good for 10 years because I hope to havr Virginia and China.Highlights assist me again in a few years to explore other parts of China. Thanks for a great trip Virginia and China Highlights.
Carrie Zheng of China Highlight, did an outstanding job in organizing our trip to Zhangjiajie, Furong , Fenghuang and Changsha all the way to Hangzhou. We received VIP treatment for scenic spots entrance, transportation and hotel accommodations, along with English speaking tour guide, that made our trip a most memorable one. On our next trip to China, we definitely will engage Carrie Zheng of China Highligh to do the planning for us again. She deserves a five stars service rating from us.
Just returned from a wonderful 13-day visit to China. We worked with Carol of China Highlights to design, create and manage this trip. She, and the whole China Highlights team, did an extraordinary job. During the trip I posted reviews identifying five specific locations, guides, drivers, accommodations and activities. The trip execution in each location was fantastic. Now I’d like to focus on trip preparation, communication, booking and overall management. This trip was envisioned just 60 days before departure date. An initial inquiry to China Highlights identified arrival location in China, major site and attraction preferences, request for private guides and transportation within China, description of the three travelers and departure location. In 24 hours, Carol had provided a detailed plan and very competitive quote for the entire trip. Through email over the next 7 days, we were able to modify some accommodations, locations and meals. We then committed to the trip and sent a deposit. From that point, China Highlights provided regular communication identifying many of the issues we needed to address (visas, tec.) and helpful hints on making our trip easier once we hit the ground. Strongly suggest you read these communications and consider the recommended actions. From the moment we stepped off the plane in China, their people were there to ensure our trip was outstanding. Our internal China trip included flights, bullet trains and cars. Since we did not speak Chinese, we were concerned about navigating plane and train terminals. They took care of everything including scheduling, booking, pickups and drop-offs. Everything worked like clockwork. Accommodations were extraordinary. We did choose to use top hotels and suites with a separate sleeping area for the third traveler. Every location provided very comfortable and spacious rooms. I believe they really wanted to build their relationship with China Highlights and their customers. Our agenda was quite full. But along the way there were opportunities for rest or other activities. When timing allowed, the guide suggested some additional activities that really hit the mark for great entertainment and local flavor. Strongly recommend considering these additions. Guide will help you book and driver will make sure you return safely to your hotel after. China Highlights is an extraordinary travel company. As we experienced in China, we believe they are also highly valued by their local partners (hotels, drivers, guides, attractions). We could not have envisioned a better travel experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience! We're thrilled Carol and the entire China Highlights team made your 13-day trip seamless and memorable. We truly appreciate your strong recommendation and look forward to helping you explore more of China in the future!
Carol organised a spectacular trip for me, my wife and our three girls. We had great itineraries and terrific guides at each stop (Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Guilin/Yangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen) and felt well looked after throughout. I’m not someone who uses travel agents, but I’m so glad I used China Highlights and Carol for this trip.
Dealing with China Highlights was great from the start to the end of our trip. They are very professional and responded within 24 hours of my enquiries. Special thanks to Suki Cao whom I dealt with and helped design for us a 15 days custom tour to the Yunnan region to suit our pace (4 seniors ), our preferences and needs. Her communication skills with us, in English, was most impressive, from our first contact in Feb 2026 to our trip in April 2026. She not only responded promptly to our enquiries but even suggested suitable options that we did not think of. She was always contactable and responded promptly when we needed some changes during the trip, all done without any fuss! All the drivers and English speaking guides at each of the cities were truly professional and friendly, making our trip so much more enjoyable. Truly happy with China Highlights services.... 5 stars!!
I had such a great experience with Leon when planning the South Kore Trip. I had 2 flight cancellations and had to extend my trip out and Leon did an awesome job accommodating me and making the experience for me and my son memorable. Leon gets back to you in a quick turn around time and he made the experience seamless. Highly recommend Leon!
We have just returned from a 16-day holiday, organized through China Highlights. We had an exceptional holiday and here is our summary. The tour was planned with the help of Ann Wang, in China Highlight’s main office, and she was very helpful in planning our itinerary. We flew into Beijing and returned from Shanghai. Ann took over all the internal sections of our holiday from the moment we landed, arranging the drivers, booking the hotels, trains and an internal flight. We were accompanied by local guides for what was a private tour for the two of us, with drivers and comfortable vehicles throughout. We had just specified where we wanted to go, and Ann did the rest! The local guides were excellent, spoke good English and would happily adjust the daily itinerary, if we asked. We would like to give our special recommendations to Jacob, Sarah and Mia, who were excellent. We received the itinerary from Ann Wang well before our trip, and this smoothed the application for our Chinese visas. Slotted into the middle of the holiday, we took a three-day river cruise down the Yangtze, and again this was organised by China Highlights and included in the total cost, which we think represented excellent value. It was especially pleasant not to be guided to sales outlets, unless we asked, and we really learnt a lot from the local guides about modern-day China, which was a complete revelation. During our holiday, I unfortunately suffered a muscle strain in my shoulder, and our guide, Mia, immediately arranged a hospital visit for me to see a doctor. My medical details were forwarded by email, as we drove to the local public hospital. I was seen by a doctor and had the Chinese prescription in my hand withing 50 minutes from arrival! Quite a change from our usual A&E! This was an example of the care from all our guides and China Highlights! We would recommend using China Highlights to anyone, just go and see this amazing country for yourselves!
Thank you so much for sharing your incredible 16-day journey! We're delighted that Ann Wang and guides like Jacob, Sarah, and Mia made your trip seamless, insightful, and caring—especially with the hospital visit. It means a lot to know you felt well looked after, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. Customer Care Team
Very responsive and provide good services
Carrie Zhang was amazing!!! Had the most terrific time thanks to her and China Highlights
My wife and I decided to visit China and I started to compare some proposals coming from 3 different Tour Operator: the one of China Highlights was sent by Mrs Carrie Zhang and I immediately realized it was the right one because of the clear attention to my needs and the accuracy of the itinerary. Interaction with Carrie was constant both before and during the trip; I always received prompt responses to my requests, and I therefore had the pleasant feeling of being able to rely on her for assistance in any difficult situations. I concluded the trip with great satisfaction (despite the unfavorable weather during our stay in Zhangjiajie), and I can only praise China Highlights for their flawless organization and for their ability to select excellent collaborators.
Thank you for your great feedback! We're so glad Carrie's attentive planning and constant support made your trip a success, even with the weather in Zhangjiajie. It's wonderful to hear you felt well taken care of—thank you for choosing China Highlights! Customer Care Team
