Stop Scammers in Their Tracks

I recently reported a domain registered through GNAME that was being actively used to impersonate a legitimate South African payment service and target members of the public with a traffic-fine phishing scam. I submitted a detailed abuse report to GNAME, including the fraudulent domain, an explanation of the scam and supporting screenshots. I was extremely impressed with the response. GNAME investigated the complaint and placed the domain on Client Hold, effectively disabling the fraudulent website, within a very short period of time. (Less than 8 hours) Online scams succeed partly because criminals can quickly register domains, impersonate legitimate organisations and disappear before meaningful action is taken. Registrars therefore have an important role to play when credible evidence of abuse is brought to their attention. In this instance, GNAME's abuse-reporting process was straightforward and, most importantly, resulted in action. As someone who reported this primarily to prevent other members of the public from becoming victims, I greatly appreciate GNAME taking the complaint seriously and responding decisively. Excellent work by their abuse team.

MYCOLORINGBOOKPLACE.COM IS A THEIF

REVIEW #2: Gname.com DOES NOT stand behind their own policies of ABUSE. Although they demand you send corporate documents to substantiate a case of THEFT. Once the documents are submitted, there is BIG opportunity, even the very documents can be STOLEN and used to steal even more from AMERICAN COMPANIES. We are starting a major MEDIA CAMPAIGN to stop the THEFT OF US INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BY PEOPLE WHO OPERATE IN COMPANIES LIKE GNAME. Gname has a domain name, that was just made up called: mycoloringbookplace.com and that company is domain name spoofing, they are also credential stuffing. the company associated witH the link is a THEIF of TRADEMARKS AND COPYRIGHTS

EDIT: Hi there! It looks like we haven't yet received a report for mycoloringbookplace.com through our official abuse channel: https://www.gname.com/abuse This ensures we capture all the supporting evidence needed and can give every domain a fair, consistent assessment. Thanks so much, and we look forward to resolving this for you. _ Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. If you believe this domain is being used to infringe on a trademark, please submit a formal report through our abuse channel: https://www.gname.com/abuse Once submitted, our team will review the evidence and take appropriate action if misuse is confirmed, which may include suspension or takedown of the domain. Fast, professional and effective action

We are extremely satisfied with the fast and professional handling of our complaint. We discovered a fraudulent webshop that was unlawfully using our brand name and presenting itself in a way that could seriously mislead consumers. After reporting the case, our complaint was taken seriously and acted upon immediately. Within just four business days, the fraudulent webshop was taken offline. We truly appreciate the speed, professionalism and effectiveness with which this matter was handled. For a brand, it is extremely important to be able to act quickly when its name and reputation are being misused, especially when consumers are at risk of being deceived. Thank you for taking our complaint seriously and for helping us put a stop to this fraudulent activity. We are very pleased with the outcome and glad to see that justice can prevail.

Hi there. Thanks very much for your kind words. We take brand protection very seriously, so it's great to hear we made a difference for you.

Reliable platform for domain management

We’ve been using GNAME for a while now and overall it’s been a very good experience. We manage quite a few domains, so what matters most to us is that things work as expected and we don’t have to spend too much time figuring things out. The platform is easy to navigate, domain management is straightforward, and we haven’t had any major issues so far. I also want to mention their support team. Whenever we’ve had a question or needed something clarified, they’ve been responsive and helpful instead of just sending generic answers. There’s always room for improvement with any platform, but from our experience GNAME has been reliable and easy to work with. Happy to continue using them.

Officious and bureaucratic

Very confusing website, and extremely officious and bureaucratic procedures. I was bidding on a dropcatch domain and won the auction. However on opening my account they placed it under restrictions with no clear explanation of why, and how to resolve it. I spent two 1-hour sessions with live support agents trying to resolve this. What they actually wanted was a a screen shot from Paypal of the payments I had made to them! so pointless. only deal with these people if you have a lot of time and patience

gname.com 回复2026-08-24

Hi there. Thank you for the detailed feedback. The account restriction you ran into is part of our anti-fraud checks on new accounts, particularly around high-value or contested domain wins. We ask for proof of payment (like the PayPal screenshot) to confirm the funds came from the account holder before releasing the domain. It's a standard step, but we agree it should have been explained clearly upfront instead of after two support sessions. That's on us. We're looking at how to surface this requirement earlier in the account/bidding flow so new users aren't left guessing. In the meantime, if your domain still hasn't been released, please drop here your account/ticket ID and we'll get it resolved directly.

Be careful

Be careful: Known crypto scam network operating under new domain Review / İnceleme Metni: I had a terrible experience with this platform. This is a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment site operating as a scam scheme. Their previous domain (bqtaskluck.cc) was recently shut down and put on "Client Hold" by the registrar due to confirmed abuse reports. However, the exact same scammers immediately launched the identical fake platform under a new web address (bqtaskluck.vip). They lure people in with fake investment promises and do not allow withdrawals. Do not trust this site or deposit any funds here—it is a complete trap. The company can only "improve" by ceasing its fraudulent operations entirely.

Hi there. If you've been a victim of fraud and discovered that we are the registrar for the site in question, please report it to us at https://www.gname.com/abuse. Include details of the transaction and the suspicious activity involved, and our compliance team will take it from there.

Clear and helpful support regarding a historical domain inquiry

I contacted GNAME customer support regarding a historical domain that had been used in connection with a cryptocurrency fraud case I reported to the police. The support representative clearly explained that requests concerning historical registration or account records could not be handled through customer service or the standard abuse report process. I was also given the appropriate Compliance Department contact channel for formal requests from law enforcement, courts, or government authorities. The explanation was clear and useful, and I was able to provide that information to the police in Japan. Although my request itself could not be handled directly by customer service, I appreciated the clear and practical guidance provided.

I am writing this to warn every domain…

I am writing this to warn every domain investor and user against dealing with Gname. For 7 agonizing days, I have been subjected to non-stop stalling, misleading promises, and total incompetence from their support team regarding a simple manual refund via PayPal following a crypto deposit issue. Today, they went a step further: my account balance was officially deducted and marked internally on their dashboard as "The funds have been refunded through PayPal". However, this turned out to be nothing more than an internal accounting trick—NO funds have actually been sent to my PayPal account. When confronted, support hid behind automated, meaningless templates claiming the request is "still with the Finance Department." Taking a customer's money off their balance while delaying the actual payout for a full week is completely deceptive. Competitors like Namecheap or GoDaddy handle payouts and refunds within hours with total transparency, whereas Gname holds your money hostage with continuous delay tactics. Ticket ID: 02D4199BEC54274A I will actively update this review across public domain industry forums and communities. This review stays LIVE and will be updated until every single dollar is verified in my PayPal balance and the Transaction ID is posted. Proceed with extreme caution if you value your time and funds.

Hi. thanks for reaching out and for your patience on this. We've looked into your ticket and can see you requested a refund of your account balance last Thursday. Since your account was originally funded with crypto — which normally can't be refunded — we made an exception and processed this manually for you. Good news: your refund is already on its way. We know waiting on money is stressful, and we want to be clear that nothing is being held back. We're just working to get this sorted properly for you. Our support team has been actively updating at their soonest, and they will continue to do so until you've received the remaining balance.

Many of their hosted websites are doubtfull....

Many of the domains they host are not even companies, and they don't care what happens on their servers. I was approached, and scammed by one of their hosted domain. The domain is not even a company. They work through Telegram, and just keep a wallet on the GName server. GNames acts as the registrar, and they have MANY like that. They want proof, but the proof you send is not enough, and they stop the complaint. Very doubtful, and not serious or honest. The reply of GName was really next to the point. They register for the domain owners. I assume they do it, because they feel there's nobody known by name. The company zibitcoin.com doesn't even exist, so who would register for that website. I'm not accusing anybody, the only thing I know that I lost money due to the crypto fraude tasks.

gname.com 回复2026-08-11

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We take abuse reports seriously, but as a registrar we're required to act on verifiable evidence rather than allegations alone. This protects legitimate domains from being taken down based on unproven claims. To escalate or reopen your case, we'd need concrete, documented proof of the scam: transaction records, chat logs with wallet addresses, timestamps, and any communication showing the domain was used to solicit funds. If what you submitted was rejected, we're happy to review it again. Please send the full package to our abuse team through the same ticket so we can take a closer look, and let us know specifically what was flagged as insufficient. We want to get this right, both for victims of fraud and for domain owners who could be wrongly accused.
