Reviewers had a great experience with this company. Parents frequently mention that the teachers are exceptionally patient, engaging, and capable of capturing children's attention through fun stories and games during lessons. Families truly appreciate the interactive online platform and customized curriculum, noting significant improvements in children's spoken confidence and overall language learning progress.
Some reviewers were not happy with the communication, mentioning persistent difficulties with customer support responsiveness and frustrating scheduling issues after purchasing packages. A few people also felt that aggressive sales practices, unhelpful administrative responses, and annoying follow-up calls created an unnecessary hassle during their journey.
Asked them to refund, can you believe it is end of August, they never refunded me for the payment I made on March.

Dear Candice, we apologise for your experiences. May we have further details (e.g. account ID) so that we can trace and resolve this soonest. We will be reaching out via TrustPilot to get more context. Rest assured that resolving this is viewed as a priority and thank you for bringing this to our attention.
They advertise 1 free trial class and 27 prerecorded classes once click through he Facebook ad. They gave a free trial class but when I asked for the 27 prerecorded classes they said you only get it when sign up. I complained it was a false advertisement, they didn't clarify or apologies but simply replied 'so do you want to sign up?'(in Chinese as they do not support English customer service) . If this is the response I get before paying, image what kind of service I will get after payment!
For the classes, I find the teacher redundant, it is just someone reading the script and waiting for the child to reply. And kids spend a lot of time on thinking how to reply. It would be much better if it was a interactive software through out without the teacher. The class (software) is fixed and is too simple for children already have some foundation.

Very aggressive sales
I was offered 70 some classes for $1500. This has to be paid in advance. We did a trial class, the teacher was making a great effort but more routinely rehearsed lines than making real conversations during teaching. The prewritten material is very very babyish and even some English part had grammar errors. it’s not customized to my kid. My kid is 10 and only learned like one new word in an hour class. It’s like a online Babysitting chatting service than serious Chinese language learning. She treated my kid like a toddler basically.
I don’t think realistically why would anyone want to sign up and prepay for that many classes in advance to an oversea company. What if they go out of business or decide to quit, I am sure it’d be very hard to get any refund.
The sales person is very aggressive and very annoying. He keeps texting and calling on WeChat and then on the regular phone. As soon as we finished the trial class he calls me on WeChat not even a minute for people to think through. The teacher is pushy too. She requested to speak to the parent and pushes for 2 classes a week minimum. Also they took a snapshot image of the class with my kid and me on it and sent in WeChat!!! Shouldn’t they ask for permission before taking people’s pictures and send on social media? They don’t respect people’s privacy and I don’t think they know or want to know what that really means. In addition I see other parents keep posting this company’s ads on WeChat to get so called discounts or free bonus classes. If they don’t post their ads on wechat they will probably lose their discounts or whatever. All these behaviors really turned me away from signing up.

Dear Christine, we apologies for the above experience with our service crew. We endeavor on delivering classroom experiences that assist both learner and parent on the language learning itself and are sorry for these unpleasant encounters. We'll be reaching out via Trustpilot - may we get more context e.g. the name of the service staff, Account ID, so that we can trace and review these anomalies in terms of service delivery and connectivity to prevent future occurrences? Dear Holly, thank you for taking time to share this feedback with us. We value your feedback to better serve our learners and parents across the globe and hope to learn how else to improve. Our team will be reaching out to you to understand more.
Teacher is just running the syllabus and not interested in bringing the subject alive to the student. Did not help to improve the exam marks.

Dear parent, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our teachers are chosen through a strict requirement however they do have different styles of teaching and we regret to learn that the assigned teacher had been less than satisfactory in your kid’s learning journey. Our team will be reaching out to you via email as we hope that we can have the opportunity to journey with you and your kid at LingoAce again. Once again, our sincere apologies for this unfortunate experience.
Teacher is working hard and understand the character of his students.
And teacher is find many interesting way to improve his students skill.
Thank you :)
Teaching material is out of date and very boring. Teacher has little flexibility due to the required curriculum. Private lesson should be unique by mingling all together (history, geography and other subjects my middle schooler likes), not just simply follow 3rd grade elementary school text book, it kills the fun of learning.

Dear Parent, thank you for your review. We apologize that as our class content is fixed beforehand, therefore our teachers are unable to utilize any external learning resources as this may disrupt the materials they have prepared for that class. However, we understand that adaptation and flexibility is needed for your child to improve their Mandarin, therefore we appreciate your honest feedback and will strive to create our classes to be more adaptable.
I would give zero start if I could. I had very bad experience with my xue guan, the person suppose to help you and answer questions you have for the program. However, she is unreachable!!! The most of time I have to contact the sales person to seek for help.

overall we like the program but if the syllabus can be customized based on the needs, it would be better.

Dear parent, thank you for joining us on this Chinese language learning journey with LingoAce. We also appreciate you sharing with us on how we can enhance the curriculum moving forward to further peg it to globally accredited syllabus for varied learning objectives.
My gal have been with Lingoace for 2 months...i like their teaching materials and how the teachers try to engage the child. Lingoace change my perception of online learning. They are really catered for online learning.
I appreciate the patience of the customer support in understanding our needs as non-native Chinese speakers. They offered suggestions for my daughter to better optimize the experience. They also explored ways to tailor-fit the classes to my daughter's needs. The multiple support team set-up also was helpful because when one of the staff is unavailable, you can try to contact another staff who also understands your child's class arrangements. Special thanks to Peggy for always being very helpful to me.
It helped me learn some but I think the class can be improved more.

Very bad support once u signed up the course and cannot withdraw anymore. When they ask u to sign up the courses, all the people were very supportive and providing a lot of help during payment. After that, very difficult to contact them. My son missed a few classes and all of these cannot be replaced(replacement can be done as per mentioned by them prior signing up), after signed up, no replacement, no support, no withdrawal blablabla. Won't continue anymore after his current course.

Update August 22, 2021
After I informed LingoAce that they were in violation of US and California privacy laws, and that I had reported them to the FTC, California Attorney General, the press/news outlets, and bloggers, they informed me they had deleted my child's data.
I am incredibly relieved and appreciative. Though, I am still waiting for confirmation that all backups have been removed, and that my child's data has been removed from any machine learning/AI/training models.
One of the bloggers, and I think I agree, suggested that for those who care about privacy:
1) it might be better to go with companies such as GoEast that use an external meeting service such as Zoom. The learning company doesn't control your child's data and Zoom can focus on the meeting technology and security
2) a company in the EU, such as Vivaling, is required to adhere to stricter privacy requirements
===
Update August 2021:
After LingoAce reached out to us, we were able to sign up. Scheduling classes has been seamless.
However, for any parents who care about privacy, there are a few red flags.
1. LingoAce maintains a full video and audio recording of every single lesson. This includes the trial session.
2. Very loose security - it seemed like everybody we spoke with at LingoAce could view our child's data. This included every single salesperson we spoke with, and there were at least 3-4.
I asked for the video recordings to be deleted. I could possibly see a business case for keeping the most "recent" videos. But there is no reason at all why LingoAce would need videos of my kid dating back over half a year.
However, my LingoAce contact said that they will not stop the recording, and they will not delete it.
Original post (about the signup experience)
==================================
As American-born Chinese, we do not speak but we'd love our kids to learn Chinese. Our issue is that LingoAce only communicates in Chinese (even though they say they have English customer service/speakers, their English is really poor).
We even tried contacting the North American office in Los Angeles, thinking that might be a better experience. But even just asking a question "How can I sign up?" requires that we create an account. I guess it's not surprising that the customer service experience is not what we're used to in the United States, since this is apparently a Singaporean company.
A few other things that differ from a US perspective -- communications are via WeChat or phone. Phone is inconvenient since you need to schedule during Asian (Chinese/Singaporean hours), and while they will use email - it inevitably reverts to WeChat (and in Chinese!) Fortunately, WeChat has a translate option, but I really wanted to make sure I had a clear understanding before paying money. Also, if I can't even sign up easily - what will the customer service be like if I run into any issues (scheduling, website, anything at all) AFTER I sign up?
Finally, they are very focused on selling only! They even tried to convince me to sign up our 1-year-old baby for classes!
UPDATE Jan 17, 2021: Via TrustPilot, they asked for our account/registration(?) number, and then they'd look into things. We replied with all the info, but since we did not sign up for classes, no one is helping us.
Side note: A parent we know is trying to coordinate a group buy. It appears LingoAce (unsurprisingly, perhaps) offers better deals to Chinese speakers. The other parent was offered 110 classes for $900. We were offered 74 classes for $900.
Also, in order to get all the classes, we need to post about LingoAce once a week on social networks. I see that someone else mentioned this, I guess this is why I hear about LingoAce so often. Finally, we were told the deal ends today, and we need to sign up ASAP if we want it.
One other issue is that we took a free trial class 6 months ago, so we no longer qualify for a trial class to re-assess my child's level. This is not something they are doing wrong, but it is probably not a good policy for them. LingoAce is telling me that I "already listened to the first class", so I don't get any more chances to listen.
The problem is that I don't speak Chinese, my child stopped in-person Chinese classes, and I don't know how much Chinese they know at this point.
For those in the US, this is a very non-customer-friendly company - probably normal in other parts of the world, but not the US.

After the free course trial, my kids didn't like the experience and I kindly informed lingoace salesperson of not registrating. Since then, I keep receiving calls from them every night; despite of having asked them several times of removing my name from their contact list. I know they want to increase their sales, but this is aggressive and harassing marketing and should be stopped.

Tried the lingoace online Chinese lesson fOr my son. Fro the whole process the teacher got his name wrong, and the customer service got his gender and age wrong. And then the arrogant sales/customer service started to push sale, ah, not push, it was almost a force sale. 😨very bad experience, maybe it is time to upgrade your sales personnel!

Thank you for bringing these to our attention as it's just as critical for us to get these basics right. Our apologies again.
The two stars are for their teacher and curriculum. I only gave two stars because the people who call themselves “Xue Guan” / school management have created many confusing issues. They called my child by the wrong name, changed teacher a day before the first class without notifying us, refused to give the teacher’s information and background, sent unrelated messages, gave contradictory replies, and to redeem the extra classes they agreed to gave when I signed up, they ridiculously said I have to share their posters to my social media networks to recommend their classes! I’d rather leave it not to ruin my reputation. I’m not going to recommend unprofessional services especially school services to my friends. Instead I recommend staff training to those who call themselves “Xue Guan”. It is shame that I am not renewing the classes because of their horrible service and bad attitude.
