Fake buyer protection

Alibaba Trade Assurance is a complete scam. Order ID: 25761208501045914 Case ID: 1000386611063 Supplier: Changchun Shanhe Dongli Import And Export Trade Co., Ltd. I paid $1,895.00 for an engine under DDP terms to Iceland. The seller breached the contract, shipped CIF, and abandoned the cargo at the port with unpaid charges (IceLogic). In their official dispute ruling, Alibaba explicitly admitted in writing that the order is DDP and that the seller breached the shipping terms, yet refused a refund and demanded that I pay customs and port fees myself. They protect scam sellers even when contract breach is proven in writing. A bank Chargeback has been filed via my issuing bank. UPDATE Sept 4: Alibaba publicly promised a Senior Team review regarding my refund, but instead reset the internal timer for the 6th time (another 4 days) while the seller posts superseded, irrelevant chat logs. Still refusing to refund $1,895 for an abandoned DDP shipment. The stalling tactics continue. Chargeback actively progressing. Case ID: 1000386611063.

Hi Georgi Boyanov Georgiev ,

Hi Georgi Boyanov Georgiev , Thank you for contacting Alibaba.com. This is Nancy from Alibaba.com Customer Service Senior Team. This email is regarding your concern about the refund button reopen issue with order 20154112501048848. We understand the frustration this may have caused and want to assure you that we are working on resolving it for you. Regarding your issue, here is the proposed solution: We learned from your online conversation that you received the shipment on April 2. according to the rules of the Alibaba platform, for trade protection orders, buyers can initiate a dispute within 30 days (60 days for Enterprise and Enterprise Pro buyer) after receiving the goods if there is a problem with the product. If the deadline is exceeded, the platform will not intervene, mainly depending on the negotiation between the buyer and seller. we suggest you have a further communication with the seller to deal with it , this will be a more effective solution. thanks for your understanding. If you have any objections to the proposed solution, provide additional information, or have any other questions, please feel free to reply to this email. Thank you very much for your cooperation and support. We cherish you as our precious customer always and may you the best. Best regards, Nancy Alibaba.com International Customer Service Team Dear Support, I tried contacting your support team to report this issue, but I was told to submit a request directly through the platform. However, I have explained on multiple occasions that the platform does not provide any option to submit such a request. I also informed the seller that I needed assistance from Alibaba, but the result was the same: no response. Please arrange a full refund for my order immediately. Furthermore, I must report that when I attempted to speak with the seller, they threatened to find me and make me pay for having returned the phone and filed a complaint. "I was not protected from the start, and now neither the seller nor Alibaba is willing to refund me, even though I provided proof that I returned the phones at my own expense. I repeat that I paid $6,450 for these phones, and in the end, I discovered they were models intended only for the Chinese market."

I had a great experience purchasing…

I had a great experience purchasing this wig from Frank. The communication was excellent, and he was very professional and responsive throughout the entire process. The wig arrived as described, and the quality was good for the price. The packaging was also handled well, and the order arrived safely. Frank was helpful, reliable, and easy to work with. I appreciate the good customer service and look forward to doing more business with him in the future. I would recommend Frank to other buyers looking for a trustworthy supplier on Alibaba.

Excellent experience. Wide variety.

I had reservations about ordering from unknown suppliers. My prior experience on Alibaba was not the best. Not because of them but because navigation and understanding the process. This time, it was amazing. Numerous sellers with excellent communication. I found what I needed relatively easily from a large selection. Very happy with the experience. Knowing Alibaba guarantees the process helped tremendously.

Trade Assurance Ignored Evidence of Seller Fraud – €2,072 Refund Refused

Trade Assurance Ignored Evidence of Seller Fraud – €2,072 Refund Refused Alibaba Trade Assurance – two disputes, extensive evidence, no meaningful review I am writing this after almost three months trying to obtain the return of a USD 2,367 deposit (€2,072.68) paid through Alibaba Trade Assurance for a new 2026 Infinity FE915 mini excavator. The machine has never been delivered to me. I used Trade Assurance because Alibaba presents it as protection for buyers when an order goes wrong. My experience has been very different. I submitted extensive evidence in two separate refund disputes. The evidence includes serious allegations against the seller, including: • Evidence of two different machines with different pumps, different engine and each with the same serial number were presented as my machine, the first to fraudulently extract final payment, the second, the real machine, was only half finished. • Evidence contradicting the seller's explanation that Machine A had been dismantled to explain the above. • The seller's later claim that the machine was "custom-built", although my order was for their New 2026 FE915 model no changes were made to their specification at all. • Contradictory evidence about when the machine was completed. • A serious safety issue concerning the travel motors and the seller's false statement about a hydraulic-release spring brake. • CE documentation problems, including a CE document dated 2023 for a machine sold to me as a new 2026 model. The document itself states that it cannot replace the EC Declaration of Conformity. I provided evidence for all these matters in addition to several breaches of the Alibaba contract. The seller has never properly answered or refuted the above allegations. Yet Alibaba's decisions repeatedly reduced the dispute to one question: whether I had specifically ordered a particular travel motor. I did not ask the seller to install a cycloidal motor. I discovered during construction that a cycloidal/orbital motor had been installed and then raised safety and technical questions about it well before the machine had been completed. That is a completely different issue. Alibaba also said that it had "carefully reviewed all evidence". If that is true, I cannot understand why the evidence concerning the two machines, the dismantling explanation, the custom-built claim, the completion date, the safety statement and the CE documentation has never been properly addressed. I also submitted six additional complaints to Alibaba Customer Service on 14 and 15 July. I received no substantive response to them. I repeatedly asked for escalation to a senior/specialist reviewer. Instead, Customer Service repeatedly directed me to submit another refund request. I have now been told several times to submit a third refund request, I have repeatedly asked but nobody has explained what would be different from the first two. The complete evidence is already there. I am not asking Alibaba to agree with me simply because I am unhappy with the decision. I am asking Alibaba to answer the evidence. This is a USD 2,367 deposit for a machine I have never received. I will not pay the remaining 70% and continue an order when serious safety, CE compliance and supplier-integrity issues remain unresolved. Alibaba: please stop sending template responses and have a senior person actually review the existing evidence. Order: 300584319001029346 I chose Trade Assurance because I believed it provided meaningful protection. After almost three months, I am still trying to obtain a proper review of the evidence. UPDATE 1 SEPTEMBER 2026: Alibaba has now publicly responded to this review stating that they have “escalated this matter” and that their “senior team will contact you directly” and “conduct a proper review” of my case. I welcome this and will wait for the promised senior review. I have already submitted extensive evidence in two refund cases, including evidence concerning Machine A and Machine B, the disputed dismantling claim, the later “custom-built” claim, contradictory completion dates, the travel-motor safety issue and serious CE documentation problems. These matters have not previously been substantively addressed. I have also repeatedly been directed to submit a third refund request without any explanation of what would be different. I hope the promised senior review will examine the existing evidence and complete history rather than simply repeat the previous decisions. I will update this review after the senior team has contacted me. UPDATE 7 SEPTEMBER 2026: No contact or response received from Alibaba's promised senior team. I will update if that changes. UPDATE 26-09-2026 See above a new review has been made to continue the saga!

What is the point of Trade Assurance if the contract itself is not protected?

I used Alibaba Trade Assurance because I believed that an agreement made and paid for through Alibaba would actually be protected. I agreed with a freight forwarder on approximately $5.2/kg DDP shipping to Turkey. Based on this agreement, I transferred my goods to the company and paid $733.20 through Alibaba Trade Assurance. After receiving my goods and payment, the company told me that my goods had been sent to the airport and would depart within a few days. Shortly before the planned shipment, however, they refused to perform the agreement at the agreed price and increased the price to approximately $28.5/kg, blaming changing market conditions. I did not cancel the order. I refused the new price and repeatedly asked them to honor the original agreement and ship my goods under the agreed terms. The dispute continued for months. During this time, I repeatedly explained that I did not ask the company to store my goods. I wanted them to fulfill the contract and ship them. My goods were seasonal products, so these months of delay also caused me significant commercial loss. Eventually, Alibaba refunded my $733.20 Trade Assurance payment. I appreciate that the payment was refunded, but the refund was never the main issue. My goods are still in the possession of the freight forwarder. Alibaba told me to resolve the goods directly with the same company that failed to perform the agreement. That company is now demanding additional money from me for storage and other costs before releasing my goods. This is what I cannot understand about Trade Assurance. I did not use Trade Assurance simply to get my money back if the supplier decided not to honor the agreement. I used Trade Assurance because I believed that a contract made through Alibaba actually meant something. If a company can accept my goods and payment, change the agreed price shortly before shipment, refuse to perform the agreement because of “market conditions,” and then leave me to recover my goods at additional cost, what exactly did Trade Assurance protect? Refunding the payment does not undo months of delay, the commercial loss caused by that delay, or the fact that my goods remain with the company that failed to perform the agreement. I expect Alibaba to review this case at a senior level and provide a concrete solution. Otherwise, I seriously question why a buyer should rely on Trade Assurance for an international transaction if the contract itself is not effectively protected.

Alibaba's Trade Assurance is a lie

Alibaba's Trade Assurance is sided toward the Supplier and is a total scam. China Suppliers push you toward it so they can get full payment. If something goes wrong they claim not their fault. Its the shippers fault. Best to pay half upfront to cover their costs, then if an issue you have some leverage. Update. After this review posted and appealing to Alibaba they still did not offer a refund. Buyer beware: Alibaba requires you do a full video of unpacking the products as photos aren't sufficient even through they say video is optional when submitting your supplier complaint. Supplier had us pay them upfront for the shipping costs to our door, so they were completely responsible to work this out with their freight forwarder in China and the shipper used to hand off the products into the USA. We did finally get a refund very quickly after we filed a complaint through our Pay Pal account as we paid through PayPal. Alibaba went ahead and complied with PayPal and gave use a courtesy refund.

NOT to be trusted. Customer service? A joke.

There is no such thing as "Customer Support" in any of ALIBABA'S policies or practices. Invariably, no matter how badly a supplier has performed, how much they have deceived and lied to a buyer, and no matter how much IRREFUTABLE evidence is presented to that effect, Alibaba will ALWAYS side with the seller. I recently had a seller lie to me about the date a package was shipped and the date it was provided to customs. It took literally TWICE the shipping time I was quoted. And yet, Alibaba ignored my evidence and decided in favor of the seller. AVOID THE ALIBABA PLATFORM IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. There are plenty of other options. UPDATE: The link you provided doesn't allow me to provide the order number, and I can't request a human agent. So, par for the course, Alibaba. Useless.

Title: System Bug Holding My Order #309864815501227506 - Terrible Support Review: Alibaba Logistics system allowed payment for a suspended carrier (Pakistan DDP Express Lane_KLN to Saudi Arabia). My order #309864815501227506 was supposed to ship on Aug 13, 2026. The seller is ready to ship via UPS, but Alibaba support (Case #2003808664386283) is taking forever to approve the route change without extra fees. I paid full DDP terms ($78.84) on Aug 6. It is completely unacceptable that a buyer suffers due to an Alibaba system error. I do not want a refund, I want my items delivered via UPS without extra fees as per your 120% price rule! Fix your system bug and let the supplier ship!

Alibaba Trade Assurance – The Worst Dispute & Customer Service Experience

Title: Alibaba Trade Assurance has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had Order ID: 304835503001028706 I rarely write reviews like this, but my experience with Alibaba Trade Assurance and its dispute process has been absolutely appalling. Thankfully, my purchase was relatively small — a hair topper — because this experience has shown me that I would NEVER feel comfortable making a large or expensive purchase through Alibaba while relying on their advertised Money-Back Protection. My dispute has been ongoing since I received the goods on 31 July 2026. Before the order proceeded, I specifically told the seller in writing: “I don't want Ash colour.” The seller told me the wording on the payment/invoice was “just a payment link” and told me to rely on what we had discussed. I also specifically required the seller to show me the FINAL product before shipment. The seller actually stated: “I will show before I shipping so you can confirm again.” I repeated this requirement before shipment. When I later asked the seller “Where is the confirmation and photos?”, the seller responded that he would show me when the topper was done. The product was subsequently shipped without me ever approving the final goods and arrived substantially grey/ashy and different from what I requested. I provided Alibaba with extensive dated evidence including conversations, photographs, my original hair reference, instructions before production, my requirement for final approval, my immediate complaint after delivery and the seller's own statements. Despite this, Alibaba repeatedly states: “The goods were confirmed prior to shipment.” I have repeatedly asked Alibaba: SHOW ME THE EVIDENCE WHERE I APPROVED THE FINAL GOODS BEFORE SHIPMENT. They have still not identified it. A seller taking a photograph/video before shipment is NOT evidence that the buyer received and approved it. The handling of my complaint has been incredibly frustrating. I have dealt with numerous online agents, repeatedly been told the matter was escalated to senior specialists, waited for promised responses, received generic answers and been sent around in circles. On 13 August, Alibaba's Trade Dispute Mediation Team even stated: “According to Article 57 of Chapter 10 of the AliExpress International Dispute Resolution Rules, the seller cannot be held liable.” This was an Alibaba.com Trade Assurance dispute, yet they were citing an AliExpress dispute rule. I challenged its relevance and asked Alibaba to clarify the basis on which it was being applied. Following this, I received numerous emails from Alibaba Customer Service representatives including Maria, Jesus, Joyce and Jhey. I was repeatedly asked to wait another 24 hours and assured I would receive a response. These communications are documented. I was then instructed to reapply for the refund and open another case. I did exactly that and again submitted comprehensive evidence, only for the claim to be declined without the central evidentiary issue being addressed. Alibaba heavily promotes Trade Assurance and Money-Back Protection to give buyers confidence. Based on my experience, I would NEVER rely on that protection for a significant purchase. I have also reported my experience through appropriate Australian consumer-protection channels so there is a record of the difficulties I experienced attempting to rely on Alibaba's advertised buyer protection. UPDATE – 29 AUGUST 2026 Alibaba has now publicly responded to this review stating: “We have escalated your case to the appropriate team.” Unfortunately, THIS GENERIC RESPONSE PERFECTLY DEMONSTRATES THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN MY REVIEW. I have already been told repeatedly by email that my case was “escalated”, asked to wait another 24 hours and promised responses from appropriate/senior teams. Alibaba, please stop posting generic escalation responses and answer the question you continue to avoid: WHAT EXACT EVIDENCE SHOWS THAT I APPROVED THE FINAL GOODS BEFORE SHIPMENT? You repeatedly state the goods were “confirmed prior to shipment”, yet despite my repeated requests you have never identified the message, date or evidence showing my alleged approval. PRODUCE THE EVIDENCE. Your public response unfortunately reinforces my concerns about the communication, investigation and professionalism I have experienced throughout this dispute. I would not recommend Alibaba based on this experience.
