Same as some of the others on here, my installer has stopped trading. I was on a few fb groups for solar so sent out a message requesting any growatt details ad I couldn't find any specific uk phone numbers. I managed to get an email address and they replied within a day. Sent Me a whasapp message and sorted it all out over wifi. The first software update they did worked for a couple of days. So I messaged on WhatsApp, again they replied the same day and organised an engineer who came out just 2 days later. He couldnt have been mor helpful. Explained what he was doing and made sure it all worked before he left. Couldn't fault them at all
I have a number of Growatt inverters. My 8000 MTLP US had an issue but Growatt helped right away. That was about 5 years ago. I now have two Growatt SPF 12000 T DVM US inverters that are giving problems. The oldest one is about 4 years old and failed before and Growatt took care of it right away. It failed again last year and service was a bit slow. Now the new inverter I installed in January to replace the other has failed exactly the same as the first. Initially, working through my supplier they sent 2 replacement boards, that didn't fix it. Now my supplier gets no response from them, I get no response from them. I've tried contacting service online, their site won't accept e-mails, they respond saying fill out a form, but the form can't be filled out since it requires a code that won't work, then the site wipes out the request and you have to start over. I contacted their US office since the inverters are US split phase they sent me e-mail addresses of the people in charge of service in Asia where these inverters are, and I never heard back. So I have 2 inverters not working and no help whatsoever from Growatt and here it is the middle of July now, the failure of the newest one was 5 months ago. It only lasted 2 months after installation.
I was initially a bit cautious having read some mixed things on Facebook, but having been let down by my installer, I contacted Growatt directly. They were incredible. The person I spoke to guided me through a few simple checks, but when I was out of depth they organised me a call out for 48 hours later. Jianye visited and within an hour had everything back up and running. I’m so pleased as my solar set up was a significant investment and it’s great to feel like the warrantee means something.
I thought I was totally screwed.. as I used world or solar for the instal.. they went bankrupt.. I tried so much finally I got through to Growwatt..
my battery just stopped working.. would have cost me £££££££
But instead they replaced the whole thing for £0..
finally a company that take responsibility for their products!
My growatt BDC cables was lost when someone cleaned out stuff from garage....They were left in box....
growatt support team send new cables without any cost.
thx for exelent service
My Vita 550 power station stopped working properly - switching off when the battery was full and then showing a completely drained battery on the display.
I emailed customer services with my issues who put me in touch with the tech support via email who I provided all the power station details to - That was 3 weeks ago and I have had no contact since despite repeated attempts at contact. Appalling service - lots of money for something that fails after a few months and with no apparent way of getting it resolved.

Hi,
Thank you for choosing Growatt !
here is the service Email to deal with vita 550 product :[email protected]. please contact for help.
Best regards,
Still waiting 3 months to have the inverter reset after changing internet provider (it was set up on previous one an inaccessible- only option is to contact growatt)
Only response I've recieved is that they forwarded to the department 2 days after initial contact!
EDIT 25/6/25 still waiting
After having a solar system upgrade, with a battery, the techie was a bit out of his depth, despite the website assured me they were "experts", so the system supplier contacted Growatt, got a next day reply on WhatsApp, and Lingxuan went through my settings, I explained than it was not exporting, and only drawing from solar, the load being used, rather than generating 100%, and exporting the unused energy, which it does now, so all good, well done Lingxuan for your patience with me

Hi,
Thank you for choosing Growatt and thank you your feedback
Best regards,
Non existent warranty support - don't buy Growatt.
It's been two weeks since I've had a faulty battery. Initially I contacted Growatt who put me in touch with Lingxuan on whatsapp. He checked some things with the battery but couldn't find a fix and said an engineer would need to come to site. That was nearly two weeks ago and no update since. I've tried contacting via whatsapp and emailing multiple times, but don't get any replies. I called Growatt and was told they don't have a date for the engineer and don't know when the issue will be looked at. Terrible service. I'll most likely go through my credit card company to get a section 75 refund as Growatt seem unable to process the warranty claim or provide support.

8 months and no solution...For the 2nd time The Growatt system fails me…
8 months and no solution...For the 2nd time my Growatt system gives me problems. First the inverter ( 2 months without it), and now I enter in the 6 months without batteries....This says it all isn't?
We changed internet provider, and for the life of me I could not reconnect the inverter unit to monitor our solar intake/output. For 4 months I had been trying and emailing. My installer wanted £200 call out to sort it…..yeah, no thanks.
GroWatt were awful on email. Three times I requested help and heard nothing. HOWEVER, I phoned their uk service line and spoke to a wonderful guy called Ong Eu Jin.
He was SO patient and understanding and stayed, calmly, on the line and talked me through the very repetitive and frustrating task of configuring and connecting….up and down into the loft and codes and buttons and passwords. Trying to talk an idiot (me) through reconnecting must have been frustrating and like talking a toddler down from a tantrum (tears were nearly had I’ll admit); but Ong Eu Jin remained professional and courteous through the whole thing.
I can’t rate his customer service highly enough. I hope his manager can read this. Give that man a raise!!!!! Legend.

Thank you for choosing Growatt!
Lingxuan has been amazing today (contacted me via WhatsApp) after I’d contacted Growatt(UK) with some issues.
2 properties both with issues but our main house had the bulk of them with the main clip resting the cable being the wrong way around in the main electrical meter box.
The other house we wanted to get so it’s exporting and the batteries are loading from the solar when needed but a forced charge last thing at night on the Octopus cost tariff to see it through the night with no pull from the grid to reduce our elderly mums bills as much as possible.
Lingxuan with every issue/question I had, was able to help and guide me. He reassured me that what I was wanting to achieve he could do from his end through their own servers and he did.
He was a pleasure and as a customer with no experience of solar, export, loading and batteries I was out of my depth even though we’ve had both systems in our houses for 2 yrs.
I wasn’t made to feel a lesser person for not know tech speak and he was good at explaining too (all via WhatsApp messages and pictures.
I thought having read all the Growatt Facebook posts looking for any answer, that they’d take weeks to response - nope, the opposite.
UK PHONE number answered with a few rings, great chap took as much info and said an engineer would reach out via WhatsApp to me soon, true to his word an hour later Lingxuan reached out to.
THANK YOU Lingxuan - all problems were happily fixed/programmed/both systems fully checked over.

Thank you for choosing Growatt !
One of the best customer support experiences I’ve had.
I initially phoned in and we quickly moved over to WhatsApp where I was provided with clear instructions and images to try to resolve my problem.
In the end I needed replacement parts and this was all dealt with really well.
Lingxuan was the representative who helped me, he was very knowledgeable, super patient and very polite.
Big thanks!!!

Dear customer,
We greatly appreciate your feedback and delighted that you are satisfied with our service.
Thank you for choosing Growatt!
To add to my review below, please look at the response from Growatt, I wrote the problem was caused by a faulty Growatt power meter which they know as they supplied the replacement part under warranty yet they have tried to deflect the blame to the installer workmanship.
My installer is an accredited solar installer, if he diagnoses the issue he does not get paid for his time or effort by Growatt, he either wears the cost or the customer pays.
When I contacted the supplier of the Growatt equipment he did not want to know about the warranty issue, he said get the installer to arrange. The installer was not keen either hence I had to do all the leg work.
If Growatt has installers and suppliers who are happy to arrange warranty work free of charge to the end user then they should list on their website who they are as I was not able to find anyone who would.
I'm not knocking Growatt support themselves, they do provide good support just keep in mind your most likely going to end up having to pay someone to come out to your site to work with them to diagnose the issue to their satisfaction so any repairs done under warranty are likley not to be free of charge to the user.
My experience with this company starts a few years back when I purchased a roof top solar system. The supplied inverter was a Growatt unit which went faulty after one day. It was however speediy replaced by the company that installed the replacement unit andworked well for several years.
Last year I decided to upgrade the system to an inverter that was battery ready and have batteries installed. I purchased a Growatt battery ready inverter and batteries etc and engaged an accredited solar install electrician to come out and swap out the exisitng inverter and install the batteries. The unit powered up and worked ok for a day again! On day 2 I found the inverter to be displaying a Warning 401 which is can't communicate with the power meter warning. The power meter is a small device that is installed in the house switch board to monitor power flow in and out of your house so that the inverter can control how much power it sends to your house appliances, the batteries or the grid etc.
After a bit of investigation on my part, "luckily I'm a techo" I worked out the power meter was faulty and contacted Growatt support and that was the first issue. The installer I hired a registered solar installer, had no recent contact number for Growatt. I searched the web for contact numbers on their website and tried calling them but could not get through with the call always going to voice mail and no one returning my calls. I eventually found a number on Jims solar page for warranty support and which was not listed on the Growatt website. When I called that number I did finally get their customer support and from that point on was fairly smooth sailing with them at that time happy to work with the end user with me being their arms and legs which is a moot point. I did the testing for them supplying multi pictures of voltage readings and how and where I was connecting the test equipment. Eventually they agreed the meter was faulty and sent me a new one. Luckily they were happy to work with me as my installer didn't want to get involved as it was a time consuming excersize which really was not his fault as it should have been a simple warranty claim. If any other appliance goes faulty ie a TV, ducted heater or hot water system etc you ring up the manufacturer and generally not the poeple that installed the equipment. The manufacturer then sends out a service person and they fix the problem free of charge assuming the warranty covers the issue. Growatt however as I wrote above don't have field service people so you or your electrician has to do that work for them they only replace the faulty component free of charge.
Come 8 months later, I find Warning 401 again, pretty poor really, 8 months two fulty power meters, not looking good for the next 9 years of the warranty period. I contact Growatt, they have now changed their support system, they no longer want to talk to the end user just the installer. Even then they don't want to talk directly to the installer on site but prefer that the installer email them. I pressed the point that the installer does not want to get involved in warranty claims etc as he either has to wear the costs himself which is not fair on him or the customer has to pay him to locate what the faulty equipment is, get a replacement and swap it out which is time consuming and expensive and really Growatts responsibility as the equipment under warranty.
To give you an example I spent pretty much an entire day taken voltage measurements and proving Growatt support people with pictures of the readings they required. This involved things like what is the serial number of the faulty device, now due to the fact the serial number is on the side of the device you have to uninstall it to take a picture. They then want voltage readings so you have to reinstall the faulty device to get the readings one at a time as they request them and send to them via email and wait for a response then send them the next bit of info, in other words your electrician become their field staff. Cost of electrician being on site for a day doing their field work probably about $2000. He then has to process the warranty claim which he may or may not charge you for then he has to come back to swap out the unit so say another $300. $2300 to swap out a part that costs about $100. When you spend $18000 on a system you would expect the company to have field staff that can come out and test and replace the faulty part like any other appliance manufacture when the unit goes faulty within the warranty period, free of cost to the purchaser.
If your going to have a Growatt system installed then I would recommend you get a company to install equipment that will gaurantee not cost to you if a warranty claim is required. Keep in mind such a gaurantee is only good if the installer remains in business for the warranty period, many don't.

Hi,
Thank you for choosing Growatt products. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The "401" error code indicates a communication issue between the meter and the inverter, which is typically caused by installation-related issues such as wiring or connection problems. We recommend that you contact your installer or electrician to check and resolve the issue.
Please note that Growatt does not directly handle installations locally. Our products are sold through local distributors or installers, who in turn provide service and support to the end users. If your installer needs technical assistance, they are welcome to contact our support team with the inverter serial number and a detailed description of the issue.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
