Great food aboard the ship. Nice cocktail hour before dinner. Very good excursions. Cruise director was very personable.
The staff was so friendly and helpful
The staff was so friendly and helpful. I especially remember Makayla and Juan in the dining room. Our “house keeper” Celeste was amazing. Every morning we returned to a fresh and beautifully made up room. The meals were impressive - a wide selection always deliciously prepared. We enjoyed the informative and historical lectures, happy hours, and the 250 year celebration of America. Kyla was exceptional at bringing everyone together and keeping us informed of events and schedules.
Aug 2…Going to the Sun Road
Aug 2…. Beautiful accommodations. Glacier Institute driver wonderful. Stopped at locations that were great to take photos. Unfortunately the smoke from the fires limited our view of the higher mountains. Excellent meals and good variety. Too much food!! Yum!
Overall, a very good cruise.
The ship was fine, cabin was comfortable, well maintained, exceptionally clean, food was very good, room steward did a great job, on board entertainment was excellent and shore excursions were handled very well. Was a little disappointed with the service in the main dining room during the first few days of the cruise but that improved as the week went on. The latter is the only reason I gave this review a 4 star score.

American Cruise Line is a great way to cruise with a smaller group of people on board.
Our experience on the Star was excellent even though it is an older ship with small cabins. The staff were attentive and friendly. The Chef was excellent. We loved MacKenzie and her staff who made every day an exciting adventure. The islands and towns we visited were interesting and the history for each location was well presented. We would recommend this itinerary.

Food was above average. Quiche was cold at times. Fish was dry. Lobster was too difficult to eat. Bathroom floor wasn’t clear of particles.

We enjoyed the spacious and pleasant quarters. All of the crew were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The guides on the tours were very informative. All schedules were met.
Experience
Overall, my husband and I enjoyed every aspect of this cruise. We did have an incident with Hayden Davis the Excursion Director who needs training in how to be personable, kind and learn body language tells alot. But we chose not to let that experience affect the wonderful time we had. We truly hope the staff knows how much we appreciated their commitment, kindness, and exceptional service. Their dedication made our trip memorable, and we are grateful for everything they did to make our cruise special.
My first cruise
My first cruise, which was even better than I imagined. The food, drinks, service, entertainment and excursions were awesome. I often found myself bursting out in laughter on my cruise as I read the menus for dinner each night. “Line-caught swordfish.” “Sautéed Jansen Valley Broccoli Rabe.” “Drawn Amish butter.” Good heavens, what a flex. It was hilarious, completely over-the-top, and yet adorably charming at the same time. But they’re sending a message: “We did not buy these things down at Costco, my dude.” This is not a complaint, mind you. The food was FANTASTIC. I gained 13 lbs. on that adventure. I REGRET NOTHING. American Cruise Lines. Just do it! I booked my 2027 cruise while on the ship, and I’ve even got my 2028 cruise picked out.
