PS: The food was always tasty and served with a smile, especially the desserts.

Where do I start....from the booking to the departure everything was handled superbly. Whoever handles logistics for the company is phenominal! We were sent all appropriate information and from the get-go everything for our trip ran like clock-work! AND...the meals - all Chef prepared! No deep fried "cafe style" food was ever served. The staff was phenominal and answered even the "simplist, repetitive questions" with a smile. Well done American Cruise lines and we'll be seeing you again.
Every staff member we encountered was friendly, smiling and always helpful. Our room was always kept immaculate, as was the ship in general. The excursions had thought behind them and were very enjoyable. The nightly entertainment was varied giving something for everyone and the food was fantastic!

Everything was great on the cruise. My only concern was that you booked us on a return flight that had no available seats together. I had to upgrade, at a cost of about $69.00, to be seated next to my wife. This had nothing to do with the cruise, my complaint is with the booking personnel.

The bad experience is through booking & buying the Deluxe Protection Plan. Details of the Plan were never discussed at the time of booking. Ie; if you cancel too close to disembarkation, you don’t get cash back, you only get credit. Despite booking a group, the one reservation that we cancelled can only be rebooked (with credits) with the same people that the booking number had reserved. These credits cannot be transferred to another one in the party. This was not discussed at all when purchasing the Deluxe Protection Plan. I have to mention Thania from the boat - she was great and a pleasure to know‼️

The American Melody is a beautiful, spacious ship! The crew is amazing, and they work so hard to please everyone. The food is amazing and you will go home too full to eat for a few days. The Ohio River cruise was surprisingly more beautiful than I had imagined. Booked two more cruises.
