What reviewers say

AI generated

Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers truly appreciate how fast and easy it is to file insurance claims and receive prompt refunds without facing unnecessary complications. Many people frequently mention that the online system is straightforward and support agents are exceptionally polite and helpful. However, some customers also noted that dealing with continuous requests for extra medical documentation made the whole reimbursement process rather frustrating. A few travelers felt that getting clear updates or speaking with helpful representatives was difficult when trying to resolve pending issues. Some users experienced delays or felt the communication could be improved during these more challenging situations.

I had to cancel a trip due to medical reasons

I had to cancel a trip due to medical reasons. I recently submitted a claim to AON. They were prompt in sending an approval and payment. Customer service was helpful in giving direction and clarification. I was very pleased with the outcome.

Thank you Mary.

Very Pleasant Surprise!

I was worried that reams of documentation would be required, like all the unnecessary papers insurance companies often require to make it difficult to make a claim. I was delighted that only the reasonably expected things were needed, and payment was super prompt, as in a few days.

Had booked a cruise on Norweign to…

Had booked a cruise on Norweign to Bahamas Dec 17-21; but on Dec 12--diagnosed, then treated with flu (H3N2)--really bad nasty bug. A week later, when I rejoined the 'human race' I began filing for insurance reimbursement for cancelled trip. Process was straight forward, provided medical encounter form, diagnosis, and treatment, receipts (and prior re-reimbursements related to this trip, shore excursions etc). All but about $50 was refunded, If you choose electronic deposit--refunds were deposited within a week.

I have been trying to get reimbursed for a Mediterranean cruise due to plane out of service

I have been trying to get reimbursed for months for a trip cruise to the Mediterranean on WindStar. My flight on American Airlines from ORD to Barcelona was eventually canceled after 6 hours on the tarmac due to a defective part on the aircraft. AA provided me verification of the flight cancellation and stated that due to the flight cancellation 'Mr Hayes was unable to complete his trip". this was provided as well a proof of costs to AON. I have been waiting months and have sent several emails to the company. They then wanted proof from AA that the plane went out of service. That was included on the AA verification sent to them. If I don't receive a positive response from this company, perhaps you may tell me the address for their agent that accepts service of process. 02/05/2026- After filing a complaint, Aon sends a joke of an email saying they are sending me a check for $1800! What a rip off on a $5300 claim

My husband planned an anniversary trip…

My husband planned an anniversary trip to Alaska. I have a rare disease that affects mobility and several weeks before the trip I was having difficulty with standing. So I was unable to go with him. We tried to let my brother go in my stead. Now trying to get a real claims adjuster to speak with me seems impossible. They want docs that I have explained I can't get and they keep sending the same request. How many time does someone need to explain to a phone rep that this is not going to happen? I can't even find info on whom the VP of travel claims is.My stress of this whole process sends me into fits of crying. We have used travel insurance before and received refunds for this very reason, but this company...

We had to recently cancel a long…

We had to recently cancel a long planned trip just 5 months before we were to leave due to unexpected surgery. AON was contacted regarding our cancellation penalty. They immediately provided me with the required form to be filled out by the surgeon. I submitted the completed form and AON promptly refunded the cancellation fees for both myself and my wife. I would highly recommend AON if you want peace of mind for your next trip.

Claim process was quick and easy

Filing and processing this claim couldn't have been much easier. The only part that was a bit difficult was understanding what was needed on the physician's statement. Some of the information was difficult to get due to this being an emergency medical issues involving several different medical personnel and tests. In the end though, the form was completed as best we could, signed off by our physician, and accepted by AON. Full re-imbursement for pre-paid travel expenses came within a few days.
