A great customer experience as they are superb at communicating and going that extra mile for their customer. My recent purchase was not in stock but they were in touch with the manufacturer immediately. When shipped the packaging was of a quality not often seen these days. The manufacturers box was over wrapped with their own paper and inset into their branded display box. I would highly recommend looking on their website and know that you are going to get a great purchase and exemplary customer care.

I was perusing their website when I came across this discontinued model and was quite surprised to see it on their website. Shipping to the United States was faster than expected, and it was packaged very carefully with attention to detail. Communication from the company was clear an instantaneous. I ordered a Pelikan M1000 Renaissance Brown on Tuesday this week, including a nib tune and smooth, and it was delivered to me, in London, on Friday morning. Beautifully packaged, an excellent service.
Did I get what I wanted?
Yes. An Opus 88 with a custom nib and the nib (a broad Architect) is amazing: Smooth and good line variation, in case I want to sketch with it - the nibsmith's work is to be recommended.
The pen was lovingly packaged with ribbons and what not - totally appropriate for the fountain pen enthusiast and come on - every customer WANTS to be pampered with a bit of visual knick-knacks.
The total waiting time was a bit over a month;
- the pen was not in stock
- the nibsmith came down with an ailment
In other words: Life happened, which most of us are accustomed to. In the meantime, client service with the boss himself was excellent, so I always knew about the when and whats of my future pen.
In the end, I am a happy customer with a lovely new fountain pen.

Thank you for the lovely extra touches with my order. I bought the Leonardo Momento Magico in EF (with custom nib tuning and smoothing) + additional ink. It took only 3 days from Netherlands to Australia, when it was ready to ship. So impressed when the I opend the box - beautifully and so neatly wrapped with lovely paper and the golden Appelbloom logo. All was perfectly intact and well packaged. The bonus was two Stroopwafel mini sweets which we enjoyed so much! It was a lovely added touch from the Netherlands, considering the distance this package went. Thank you so much Joost for answering all my questions about the package, so helpfully! I will definitely be buying from Appelbloom again and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality and care.
Great experience. I had an email exchange with Mr. Joost before placing my order, he was very helpful. Once I placed my order I received it in a few days with international shipping. The pen I received is beautiful. This will be my store for any future pen purchases.
My third different pen purchase in the last couple of months. I would’ve hesitated buying an Italian pen if not for the nib tune and smooth service.
